  1. A loan for a year with an obligation fee of £17.5m would mean we’d break even on FFP.

I doubt it happens though, Coutinho doesn’t seem to be the kind of person who would move there.

Inter hardly have an outstanding squad, they have no money, a stadium that needs replacing that they can't afford, and have to get frees/loans in.

Ok they made the Champions League final this year, great. Will they do the same next year? Nope, it was a one off for that squad.

I also didn't say they weren't a big club, I said he could have joined one of the biggest clubs as second choice. To me the biggest clubs are the top 10 or so clubs in the world.

Wow. How many times have you actually watched Inter to come to this assessment of their playing squad? Their first XI is quality.

And I would argue heavily that Inter are a top 10 team in the world, and why would anyone choose to be a backup at a “top 10” rather than first choice at a top 15 (at worst?!) club?

To be honest I’m surprised he chose inter with the clubs that were after him.

He could have been second choice at some of the biggest clubs

Inter getting to the Champions League Final not enough to qualify as a big club? Shouldn’t bite, but this comment is absolute NONSENSE.

  4. £25m for Ferran Torres or £60m for Brennan Johnson...I know which one I, Emery, and Monchi would go for. Even if the prices were reversed.

Controversial opinion, but it does make me question whether Percy has any true inside knowledge of what's going on at the Villa now, and whether Percy's contact at the Villa was Lange or Purslow, as he was still spouting the Barnes and Johnson line yesterday, which I just cannot see us being interested in now, but might well have been the case a few months ago when those other two were running the show.

Please read the red text at the top of this forum. It seems unlikely to be a cache problem, but always worth a try.

Does using "activity streams" fix the problem (in the menu at the top of every page)? Follow the topics you are interested in and use the built in "content I follow" stream.

Thanks buddy. I’ve gone full hog and downloaded a new browser (Firefox). If that fails I’ll try your other suggestion, even though it’s not my preferred way of browsing forums. Thanks again.

  6. Quite regularly the Villa on topic section (and only that part of the forum) becomes marked all as read if I read too many topics in a row without going back to a different part of the forum. It's been happening for about a year, and only just now decided to ask about it.

I hope I've described that well enough. Any ideas how to fix this? It's both when using my laptop (Windows) and my iPhone. Thanks.

  7. Let’s sign him first before worrying about where he’ll play!

I’m sure that Mings will be a starter, not sure about Konsa. Without Mings we are dominated in the air.

  8. Yeah you’d imagine that they can set the stage up where the stand currently is. I don’t know if seats were sold in that stand for the recent gigs? Will be very disappointing if it’s delayed even further!

  9. There was lots of early deals last summer because quite a few Spanish clubs had to sell, which doesn't seem to be the case at all this summer, which is why it feels quieter. Also the very late Champions League Final didn't help, either.

It will all kick off early next week, in my opinion.

  10. It’s four homegrown club players, so only Ramsey and Archer would qualify, all the other kids don’t need to be registered due to being young. It’s also not that you have to have four homegrown players, but that you reduce your squad number if you can’t fill the spots. So we’d end up having a 23 man squad, plus any under 21s. So realistically it’s not an issue.

Also, Iroegbunam doesn’t qualify as being homegrown for us.

Would Rico Richards be considered as too old to join our academy?

I mean, I know he's only 19, but he's a couple of months older than Jhon Duran and in Academy terms he's nearing the end of his youth football journey - I'd be sort of expecting him to join a first team set up somewhere in the pyramid at this point in his career.

I imagine it’ll be similar to Azaz. We’ll sign him, but he’ll go straight out on loan to League Two. That’s my guess, anyway.

  12. Think I read somewhere that Bayern would look to sign him if Lucas Hernandez left, and it looks as though he has now agreed terms with PSG, so we might miss out on this one.
