That’s some bench! Did it look like this? :)

    Yes :D😂

I confused them with the Norwegian national team where it looks during the game that we have all our players on the bench, Argentina might however have a smaller bench with only 12 players and 11 on the bitch :D

Anyone else notice he’s somehow disappeared from the Argentina squad 🤔 not even on the bench yesterday

They called up 33 players, and could only have 23 on the bench.

In other players who dissappeared it was also i.e Aguero, Correa(the Lazio one), Otamendi, Palomino.

I can see why they would think that too. Just like when we were promoted, I was only worried about Grealish moving to an "Elite" club. The idea that he would have moved to an Everton just didn't seem feasible to me.

So I get why they would feel that way and they have every right to imo. For me this whole transfer depends on whether Smith/Purslow/Whoever can sell the vision of what this club is trying to achieve to Buendia. It's not a sure thing by any stretch imo.

    My thoughts exactly!

The funniest part is, they shoot down their own article in the 2nd paragraph with " Villa aren't actively looking "..... so what was the point of the story? lol

I loved the part of "not actively looking" and "Smith may start next season in the dugout".

Me on the other hand agree that if Finland does a bad EC we should do a #smithout, and we can have Nuno in for next season...

Further, they could add a bit more interesting name. Nunos football is actually on Bruce level in my opinion.

Nuno would be a poor choice of a new manager

Anything would be a poor choice of a new manager. We have a manager who deserves and leads us :)

I think a loan where he gets to play a lot of football, whether that's league one or something. That would be ideal for him.

I think that would make him leave. The promises thats rumoured and Smiths comments tells me he will play alot next season

I can't see how Norwich have no money.

They were PL last year and hardly spent a bean, they took the money and ran. Their wage bill can't be huge and they've just had a year of parachute payments.

By having no money he must mean not prepared to spend the money he's banked.  Apparently the price of flour is about to rise so maybe Delia needs more dough.

Pretty sure they paid down debt with the money that came

If Utd are offloading James/van der Beek I'd be very happy to go that way...

I would take van den Beek, but James is so limited that I would stay away from him. He runs fast, but thats it...

  9. I still believe Barkley has a few proper years in him. However he needs a good coach, and perhaps some mental coaching. It seems to have taken a toll on him. He was good before injury and Covid (He has to be one of those who had it?). Then he fell off a cliff. Wish him all the best, didnt work out here unfortunately in the end.

But do we really need more development players?

I believe what we need most is major quality that can take us to the next level and make us more formidable.

I 100% agree, thats why I am reluctant to the prospect of signing him.

Still I sit here in Norway knowing **** all, so I trust the people in charge of that decision to get it right!

At least I believe Buendia would strengthen us more, but I would prefer McNeill over Pereira.

  11. McNeill is a good player, would not the be my first name on a list. However the idea of him in a team that plays a bit more technical than Burnley it would be really exciting to see how he develops.

At the moment he is basically Burnleys only player capable of much other than long balls or set pieces. (Exaggerated by me, I respect Burnley)

wouldn't it be easier to not have threads about players until they're signed? until then just speak in the transfer speculation thread?

We cod lose out on 200 pages of fish puns then! Prefer not to have them in an actual player thread

    'Dahl again?'

'Look love, my hands are tied - we have a player of Indian heritage at the club now'

    "Butter chicken again?"

"no no, its tikka masala today! and tomorrow its chicken makhani!"

  14. If he keeps on progressing like this, and make it. What a figure he will be in the community. What an inspiration. God I hope he makes it, both for himself, us, and the british-asian community.

And not lets forget I can use his name for an excuse to serve more indian food to the missus of the house 😎

going to be tough next season with our relegation battle with Norwich (According to Norwich fans)

Well truth be told, I can see where they are coming from.

We finished 11th this season, but barely survived last one. For other teams I can see their belief we are at most a midtable next season. So lets show em wrong by getting to Europe. And hope that Lange, Smith, NSWE can convince people of what we are building here.

40 million is a ridiculous price.

He's worth about 20 at most but Norwich don't need to sell hence the hyperinflated price.

He's a decent player but not for that kind of money.

I hope we have other targets in mind.

How can he be worth 20 at most when most people agree on Watkins being worth the 33 er paid?

Buendia is PL proven, Watkins was not

For me a striker and wider player are the ones we need to spend big on if the budget is there.

    Cover for left back definitely

Right back i think keep guilbert or promote kessler to cover cash save some money there

We need a cm most likely to cover void for barkley.

So i think four players - unless engels leaves then we need another cb.  But i would keep him.

Steer should be no 2 to martinez im happy with that

I guess we are kinda similar, except I believe its more importance to strengthen the DM position, while you deem striker as more pressing.

When I write CAM -> basically someone like Grealish who can pair with him in one of the CAM or AML (and be a creative force). A direct replacement of Barkley.

We need cover and competition for LB. Targett is awesome, but he needs to be kept on toes (and has been injured alot previous to this season).

RB is more if Guibert is sold or not, if he is we need another there as we need on LB

Jack has nothing to prove in terms of his England credentials and changing clubs isn't going to change that imo. It's all down to Southgate but for what it's worth I think he'll be in the final squad. He also seems to have a decent relationship with Southgate who has spent many hours at Villa Park this season!

    I hope so!
