Frankfurt, 9th in Bundesliga, seeing off the mighty West Ham, from the best league in the world. Rangers, from one of the worst leagues in Europe, easily containing Leipzig, currently 4th in the Bundesliga. West Ham at home and Rangers away as well. I definitely think Rangers and Celtic could hold their own in the English Championship. Teams like Barnsley and Peterborough would certainly be a test for Old Firm but think they may avoid relegation.

Talksport waxing lyrical about West Ham and Leicester reaching respective European Semi Finals today. Also gave a mention to Rangers as well. They just happened to be in other semi final. Apparently it was an INCREDIBLE achievement for West Ham to reach the semi. Must be forgetting the Premier League is best league in world, Declan Rice is a 100 million pound player and their squad is stacked with internationalists. The fact that Rangers team was built on buttons seems to have bypassed the English press. I actually despise Rangers and all they stand for but no-one south of Gretna seems to give them any credit. They play in a crappy league, have no competition apart from Celtic and yet, there is absolutely no reason why they can’t win the thing. Will barely get a mention if they do. Please note, I type this wearing a Leipzig scarf. Hope they get cuffed 5-0.

I like Targett but no chance he becomes a Scotland regular. Its the one position they are stacked with Robertson, Tierney and now Hickey
He probably has a better chance declaring for England
Robertson is a shoe in at left back but Scotland deploy Tierney as a left sided CB. Has been outstanding there for Scotland. Hickey is still very raw. I think if Targett chooses us, if we qualify for World Cup, if he plays his part in warm up games, I think he would go to World Cup as Robertson’s replacement. Tierney would stay as left CB. Lots of ifs there I know.

Matt Targett set for Scotland call up. Love the guy now.

He does...
He should have taken some of his Europa Cup Semi Finalists with him in January. Would have brought a winning mentality.

they signed Trippier as well who is injured and loaned a left back from somebody but I forget who
Oh aye, the chap Targett. Forgot about him. Bloody spent their way to the top. Here was me about to give Howe credit. Imagine if Gerrard had that spending power. We would be finishing in top half of the table.

Newcastle’s January spending bypassed me. I know they bought Wood, the boy Guimares and the lad Burn from Brighton. Was that it. Incredible where they are now.

Ah I see. I didn't know it was dependent on whether the officials believe you made a genuine attempt to win the ball or not. Thanks
Defender didn’t appear to try and make a tackle. Was caught on wrong side of Roofe where he clumsily barged Roofe as he was about to pull the trigger. Roofe was clever though, he positioned his body knowing that the contact would be inevitable.

That is true but who knows what would happen in one off game. Dortmund were second in Bundesliga when they played Rangers in Germany and Rangers destroyed them. Nobody gave Rangers a chance in that match too. Trust me, I want them out. Praying that Leipzig finally end the madness. Watching Rangers going this far in a tournament is like watching England in a Euro or World Cup. Can’t rest until they are out. It sustains us.

I think Rangers, from a tin pot league where many an English fan have said they would struggle in the English Championship, will win Europa League. Every team that goes to Ibrox seem spooked by the atmosphere.

I genuinely think if McGinn didn’t have the audacity to slip on THE HALF WAY LINE today, the hatred for him wouldn’t be so deep today.

For Scotland yes. They largely don't have much of the ball. We'd need more guile in those positions.
I don’t know if you have seen any Scotland games recently. Last 8 games, won 6 and drawn 2. We have dominated the ball (not Austria game) in pretty much all those games. McGinn has thrived in these games.
-
I thought he was the one player in midfield, in that second half, who was giving absolutely everything to get Villa back into into. Drove the team forward, disrupted their attacks, wicked ball into box last minute for Cash. I don’t read the other threads and don’t know if they get similarly abused for all the misplaced passes, lack of tracking back, lack of commitment that they show. The team isn’t playing well just now but for McGinn to be the main cause of that, I think is unfair.

McGinn once again playing well in an advanced position. Completely wasted in his current position for us.
I agree. In his earlier days, he was box to box but definitely think the way Scotland use him, seems to bring best out of him. When Smith played him further forward a couple of seasons ago, he was receiving ball with his back towards their goal and it didn’t suit him. For Scotland, he is advanced but seems to be running onto the ball much more or running in behind the forward. He has been outstanding tonight.

What a wonderful goal by SUPER JOHN MCGINN. Some finish but an even better move. Robertson and Tierney are really top notch.
-
Should have scored there as well. Amazing how much better he looks when he is the midfielder getting beyond the front man.
-
McGinn “The Undroppable” starts again. Even I think he needs a wee rest now and then………ooooooof as I text this, he nearly scores.

1-4 to Scottish champions. Incredible. Many saying Rangers would struggle in the English Championship but just can’t see Preston North End dominating Dortmund in Germany.

Did you know the Norwegian navy are the only navy in the world to have barcodes on their ships? It's so when the ships come back to port, they can scan da navy in. True story.
Really like that one. Going to a hospitality weekend at my local junior club. Will be stealing it for sure.
