  1. What do you see in what SG is doing that is good for Villa
  2. They are not better men than you, quite the opposite, they are like the blind leading the blind, or maybe they are just plain stubborn, you came to your decision based on common sense and logic.
  3. I am shocked, when I voted it was at 3 to keep and 109 to sack, I didnt think Stevie lad had so many who want to keep him.
  4. You say you havn't seen enough of him to judge him on his ability, I have followed him in as much as he was in my FF team for a couple of years, never did great, also I think he is nowhere near the skill level Villa should be aiming for. As for his age I know 26 is not old but I say he is on the way down based on his skill, he showed promise 2 or 3 years ago but his form dipped over the last 12 months.
  5. SG is giving some thought to signing Bednarek ??? Just the thought of signing a player like Bednarek, who is on the way down not up, is short sighted. We should be looking to buy in players that would slot in to any top 10 team, where is the ambition in signing Benarek?
  6. Well he hasn't managed it yet, so surely the law of averages has to come into effect eventually.
  7. Maybe that's the problem, we should be worrying about dropping points from day 1 not playing catch up.
  8. Sadly I fear more when we play teams we should beat. It shouldn't be that way, but I have no faith in SG, if his tactics were as good as his talk we would be a force in the premership, but the way Stevie has us playing leaves us looking like we can be undone as easy as an old cardigan. If we don't start getting results against teams like Palace we are going to be in another relegation battle. I know I sound pessimistic but I know we can win this game, come on the Villa.
  9. The difference between managing Brighton and Villa is massive. I dont want to see Villa take another punt on who they pick and Potter has never never managed a club that carries the same preassure that the Villa job would have, again a good manager but un tested at a big club no depth of exreriance under that type of preassure. I also wonder if he could draw in big name players the same way Pooch could. I want our great club to do the sensible thing, take no chances, get a proven TOP mannager in, Pooch wont be available for long, and he certainly wont still be available after the world cup break.
  10. I dont think they are bad managers, but a lot of questions were asked of Arteta even by his own fans, and it took him a long time to start to get it right, too long in my view given the recources he had, also he has very little depth of experiance. 11. Neither Potter, Arteta, or Moyes could make Villa great again. Do you want it to be that Villas best hope is to be a mid table floater every year, because I dont, I want to see European football. we need an experianced top class manager who knows how to manage a big club. There are 50+ managers in the English leagues who could have done the job SG did managing Rangers. It's like half the people here are happy to let Stevie practice on us until he gets the Pool job. It just aint good enough.
  12. I can't understand how you can say that, you are contradicting your own reasoning, you give all the reasons why SG is useless, but then say "give him till January" We need to stop being soft, I have said this in a previous post "give a new manager enough time to achieve something this season, if SG had the ability to achieve something we would have seen some glimpse of it by now and we havn't." give him 5 games at best. "
  13. I cant believe how many people are saying something along the lines of "give him more time" or "as least give him untill November". Every year many managers get sacked, ALMOST all of them were "given a bit of time to turn it around". Very few actually do turn it around, and almost none end up taking the club on to achieve great things. Usually, when a failing manager is replaced, by then the club is already in the bottom third or quarter of the table, in fact by Xmas, the fans of the bottom 5 clubs are nearly always screaming for a new manager. If thats where Villa are placed, how are we going to attract a top class manager if his first job is surviving relegation. The sensible thing is to make the job appealing, give a new manager enough time to achieve something this season, if SG had the ability to achieve something we would have seen some glimpse of it by now and we havn't.
  14. Yes Benitez would have gotten more from the team, but all that shows is how useless SG has been, there are managers from 2 divisions below us who could have got more from the team than SG. The BEST Benitez could do is steady the ship, I want to see a manager who can make us great again, not someone who is just topping up their pension.
  15. You are so right in what you have just said. My thoughts exactly.
  16. Yes and it was that soft stupidity that almost got us relegated, surely they should have learnt by now that waiting untill November is a bad idea.
  17. You speak as though SG has just been appointed, we got 9 points out of the last 36. As for honor and integrity, if Kolpp got the sack, or for any imaginable reason left the Pool, Stevie would be banging on the door shouting "gis a job", and, do you seriously think if he did get the offer to go to Liverpool he would say no thanks I have to do the honorable thing and stay as Villa.
  18. How would this hasbeen move Villa forward
  19. Is a top ten finish possible? Then tell me what 10 teams will finish below us, in fact thats unrealistic, just tell be who we are likely to finish above to see if we are going to be out of the relegation fight, and on this weeks show B,mouth aint one of them.
  20. I believe that some people are missing the point banging on that we can't sack Stevie one game in, SG has carried on where he left off last season. If a player had a run of 11 bad, not poor, BAD games at the end of the season, and then started the season with an even worse performance, would you say give him another 10 games before you drop him? We have got 9 points from a possible 36 in our last 12 games. It makes no difference how many games we are into the season, nothing has improved in result and performance.
  21. If Klopp got sacked, Stevie would be banging the door down to get in there with out a thought of showing us any loyalty.
  22. Yes you are right, I hadnt thought about the compensation, never mind if we are in a relegation battle by mid season, and never mind that we will lose MILLIONS if we go down or even if we end up in the bottom 5, if we sack good ol Stevie at least we wont have to pay his 4 mil in compensation, we will only have to pay him 3 if we keep him a few more months. As for the other managers who also had bad results, their teams havnt got a poxy 9 points from the last 12 games. Also. I dont care what other clubs do, or what people would say if we sacked SG, I care about what is best for this great club, and based on results over the last part of last season SG is not the answer.
