  5. He definitely is not ready especially with the aims for this season the club says it has. He needs a loan in the championship but we have to get that contract signed first.
  6. Some things I took away from putting this together were 1) Great control and one touch passing in close areas but sometimes if there is not an immediate obvious option, he'll dwell on the ball a little too long. This will definitely improve with experience. 2) Out of possession he was a little passive/behind the play at first but got better at the end of the season. Particularly in the Liverpool and Burnley matches where he fought for the ball more. 3) He struggles judging the ball in the air. Not even just long balls kicked from Emi. Sometimes just even a little ball kicked up 15 ft high he want trap it right away. I think he can improve that tho. Admittedly, I originally felt I only saw some glimpses of promise but overall nothing special. Now I definitely see more promise in him than before I started this compilation. Afterall he was just 17 at the start of the season.
  7. In case anyone wants to spend more time than a normal person should editing together all of Carney's touches from the last season. Don't do it! See below
  8. Putting together the highlight package made me have an even higher appreciation for his ball carrying ability. Hes able to ride challenges in some instances similar to Jack and he has the confidence to take the ball deep into the final third. This is especially admirable because he tracks back and puts in the hard work in the defensive third too.
  9. I expect big things for JJ next season. He was already so good last season.
  10. Thats another fake itk. If you download the profile image, you'll see its from an AI image generator

  13. Conor Gallagher at Man City in their 2-0 victory. https://twitter.com/NorCalVilla1/status/1536426264944209921?t=AqcNhyky5b408oE1MnHS_g&s=19
  14. Emi's off the ball movement is almost as impressive as his passing. I just love his football intelligence. I think with better passers like Kamara and Carlos, this will become more apparent. https://twitter.com/NorCalVilla1/status/1536185605763129344?t=g2xm8DmFYmr1a_XeACSfOQ&s=19
  15. Buendia obviously likes drifting and cutting centrally especially from the right side. I’m wondering if we sign another CDM like Sangare if we could play the formation below in certain games. McGinn seems to do better playing more advanced with Scotland and he also likes running into the wide right channel which tends to be vacated by Buendia. Also with McGinn and Cash up on the right wing, we’d have two different crossing options. Watkins/Ings Coutinho Buendia McGinn Kamara Sangare
  16. Heres the xG (xGOT) for each of these Man City (H) - Carney miss - 0.38 (0.43) Burnley (A) - Ings goal - 0.40 (0.86) Crystal Palace* (H) - Watkins miss - 0.29 Wolves (H) - Ings miss - 0.26 (0.78) Brentford (A) - Ings goal - 0.14 (0.73) Watford (H) - Ings miss - 0.53 Burnley (H) - Ings miss - 0.28 (0.18) Total goals = 2 Total xGOT = 3.8 *includes the two shots which missed the target Essentially, Aston Villa scored half as many goals on Emi's through balls as they should've.
  17. Let me know if that comes out better for you. I'm just trying to provide some content of my own that maybe some people haven't seen
  18. Diego Carlos highlights vs salzburg He showed a lot of pace, strength, skill and composure in this match. Salzburg pressed pretty high and he did well on the ball.
  19. Hi Everyone, I've been lurking on this site for the past few years but haven't set up my account fully yet and would like to start posting. About me: I'm a 32 year old from California but I've been an Aston Villa since about 2008. Although I started following the team when they were in the top 6, I've stuck with them through the horrible later Lerner and Dr. Xia years. After the rough decade the club has been through, I am excited for the upcoming season and direction the club is headed.
