  1. To good for a newly promoted team, will probably end up at a London Club
  2. No way would Maupay change clubs to sit on the bench or play a part time roll, he's the real deal and number one man, and Dean Smith knows that, so if that's what you think his roll will be at Villa, he definitely won't be signing for you, same applies to Benrahma.
  3. You are not wrong there, show me one journo's link that actually knows that Benrahma is recovering in France after ankle surgery and might not even be fit for the start of the season, not one of them has mentioned it, why not, because they have never bothered to investigate and find out anything about him, and just regurgitate ill informed posts, therefore it is all speculation and click bait material of no value, substance or worth!! The only thing you can believe with players being bought and sold is when the the official club website release the TRUE story, everything else you hear is just tittle tattle and best ignored.
  4. I think we have sold to many good players over the past few seasons, unfortunately we have to, to survive, I think this year was a collection of things that went wrong, DS leaving (on a losing run as well) a new coach continuing that losing run, the death at 28 of our head of recruitment Rob Rowan that hit all the players very hard, but mainly our defence, including goalkeepers making too many silly errors in gifting goals to the opposition, our midfield and forwards didn't let us down, and we scored without a problem, hence the interest in our forwards, but that's no good if let down by the defence, hopefully we are going to rectify this next season. Or maybe we might sell no one, add to the squad and go for it big time in our last season at Griffin Park to coincide with opening the new stadium next year, who knows, Football depends on skill, also a bit of luck on the way helps.
  5. I also think it's time the Benrahma topic was put to bed for the time being, it will surface again once he's up and playing, but never, say never.
  6. Correct, its not an insult, its just the way we have to work to survive, we scrapped our academy a couple of years ago as well off clubs were tempting them away if they showed signs of promise, and we could only get paid a derisory amount, we now just run a B team, this way there is a clear path to the 1st Team, its taken a couple of years but is now paying off with a few previous B team players now promoted to the 1st team with Championship games already under their belt. We arrange all our own B team matches home and on the continent, we played against reserve teams such as Man u, Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, West Brom, Bournemouth, Grasshopper Zurich, Saltzburg, and a few Scandinavian teams to name a few, any young player knows that when joining us we never stand in their way of a move, providing we get the required price, a classic example is Chris Mepham who was a B player then a 1st Team player, who was wanted by Bournemouth, they tabled a bid of £ 6 million last July that we politely turned down telling to return with a sensible offer, this they did in January and we reached a mutual figure of £12 million with add ons, a win win for both teams. As far as I know there is no release clause for Benrahma, just a high starting price. (providing his ankle surgery went OK)
  7. Konsa was a great buy, the greedy Charlton owner was only after the money, apparently we paid up in one go for him (very unusual, as most payments are spread over a period of time) with no sell on clause as well, as far as value is concerned it's difficult to put a price on him, he is one of the best young and skillful players Iv'e seen for a long time, picked for the England under 21's for this summers matches, at the rate he is developing I will put money on him hopefully making the full England team in the future, He has 2 years + 1 year option left on his contract so I would imagine he would not come cheap we would at least expect to get quadruple or more what we paid for him, with a large sell on fee. Thanks for the offer of Chester or Hogan, but I think we will be giving both of them a miss, i also think you still have the final payment to pay us for the Hogan fee, We mugged Bruce off there, didn't we !!!!
  8. Yes, I think we can turn it down (subject to him recovering well from his ankle surgery) and we would not be spending £12 million on 3 more future players, that's far to much for us to pay, we buy cheap, develop them and sell dear, that's our club owners philosophy, our record buy is only about £3 million.
  9. I very much doubt it, as he's back home in France still recovering from ankle surgery at the end of April, and could even be doubtful for the start of the season, so I doubt if any bids have been lodged until he's made a full recovery and proved his fitness, it's all fantasy talk and cut and paste journalism doing the rounds.
  10. No release clause, but signed on a four-year deal, with the option of a further year last July, therefore he won't be cheap.
  11. Poor defence and goalkeeping was our downfall this season, far to many errors made Talk, that's all it is, lazy journalism, copying and pasting, no real substance or investigation made, it's all down to click bait to give them revenue.
  12. lol, I think we will that one a miss, thank you
  13. Danger, click bait site, silly season time at the moment, no official offer has been made as yet for any of our players, but no doubt they will start coming in very soon, starting price will be £20 million each for Benrahma, Maupay & Konsa, because they are still on long contracts, we have a cheaper one for you in Ollie Watkins at £6 - £8 million if you want, our recruitment team are out and about buying our next batch of gems, BFC sell at their prices and no longer get turned over, we have to, its our way of surviving, get your cheque book out Villa, and no, We don't want Hogan back in PX !!!!
  14. Enjoyed him when he played for us, tricky little player with some dazzling footwork at times, good vision, soon became a fans favourite, we made a few bob on him, as we do with all our players, never really went that well for him at Brum, scoring under 10 goals in 2 years I think, hopefully DS will get the best out of him, will be a good impact squad player to bring on, the downside is he is only one footed and can't/won't track back and tackle, but I hope it goes well for him and you.
  15. 2020, one more season left at Griffin Park, I will miss it after 67 years of going there, but also looking forward to a new build stadium.
  16. You are not wrong there, I have seen him in all home matches and a few away ones as well, he is something special, it was his first season in English football and he will get even better this next season, just like Maupay did, it looks like we have yet another winner on our hands, but we could lose Maupay in this window, as it appears there are a few clubs in France, Germany & Italy looking at him as well, but he has stated in the London Evening News today that he would prefer the Premiership football if anything, he is not going to be cheap either, two years left on his contract and we can call the tune, I can see a bidding war breaking out unless someone comes in with silly money.
  17. YOUR'E NOT WRONG, SEE MY PREVIOUS POST: Why do you think we let him go, He can be very, very good in patches with a raking pass, but they are few and far between, does not like to get involved in tackling, pathetic at any form of defending, very lazy at times, gets injured a lot, he suffers from a bit of Bertie Big Bo££ocks attitude, just because he came from Chelsea, we have better midfielders than him, so he was deemed surplus to requirements, DS might get something out of him as he tended to pick him, Jota is a different kettle of fish, but only one footed, the Premiership will soon suss him out, but a good squad player.
  18. 19. You will survive OK, he's a good coach and man manager, I think you will find at most clubs the job of the coach is to get the best training/coaching with what he players they have available, they don't have time to scout every player themselves. We have a lot of scouts based in Europe and Scandinavian, they then send reports to our 2 DOF & Recruitment manager of players that might suit us, it's not to say the head coach can't get involved in recommending players, it is a combined team thing here at Brentford, we also use an analytical approach to find under the radar players on the cheap, that we end up selling high to keep the club afloat, this method has enabled us to make close on £80 million in sale over the last 2-3 years for the initial outlay of £11 million. So pleased for your club and especially Dean Smith, who did a great job for us.
  20. Indeed I do, your previous coach obviously didn't know how to get the best out of Hogan like we did, Maupay would be different because Dean Smith knows how to play him.
  21. Wrong, it is a 4 man team that decide on transfers, and that includes the Head Coach, is this case it was Dean Smith, who has now been replaced by our new head coach Thomas Frank.
  22. Hogan has only scored 7 goals for you and 2 for SU, since 2017, in the same time Maupay has scored 37 goals, there's the answer.
  23. The good thing is that Dean Smith knows him well and what he can do, he will know if he's capable of stepping up, trust him.
  24. But he was still good enough to turn your defence (especially Mings) inside out at Griffin Park when scoring!!
  25. "Undisclosed" by the club, but It's rumoured that we paid about £3 million for him, so you could get him for in between £6-£10 million, a snip at that price, as he would be a good long term investment, I would rather we keep him and sell Maupay for £20 million instead.
