  1. As supporters we can only dream of this happening, but who knows, anyway good luck to Villa this season, you have a good man at the helm now, he was well liked at Brentford and we were sorry to see him go, at least he's at the right club for him, he will get you playing well, sometimes goes on a bit of a bad run, but always seems to recover well.
  2. ALL Brentford players are for sale, at a price, any player that goes there is promised a move should an interest be shown in them, that is the model they work on, buy cheap then develop them and sell for a large profit, I can see us losing Maupay, Benrahma and Konsa in this window, all purchased for approx £9 million, I would imagine they would look to make a profit of at least £30/£35 million or more, I have heard rumours that we already have suitable replacements from the continent lined up, and so the Brentford wheels keep on turning. Hopefully one day this will stop and we will want to keep our best players and go for promotion, us supporters can only wish for that day to come
  3. He would be no risk at all, and worth every penny of this imaginary sum, and you can't even compare him with Hogan, Maupay has so much more to his game, mainly skill & passion, something neither Hogan had or desired to have, and you are right about Benramha, he does ooze class in every department, I know he's only had one season but he was getting better and better each game, in my opinion, he's the better player of the two, and I think we will do everything we can to hold on to them both, the powers to be at Brentford have not once quoted any price for either of them, or for that matter any other player, all they have ever stated is "it will take a large bid for us to sell them", What constitutes a large bid, and where do you start?, so all prices quoted are pure guess work and speculation by click bait and lazy journalists and should be ignored.
  4. These fees and so called £20 million sums are pure myth and fantasy made up by click bait sites, poor lazy journalism, fans forums and the like, all clubs work on the "undisclosed amount" scenario, and the true price is only revealed when the clubs yearly accounts are published in 12-18 months time, Brentford have never quoted a price for players in any press releases, it is all guesswork by journalist, the only words the club has ever said regarding players have been "It will take a large amount of money to prize this player away", what is a large amount of money?, a majority of clubs take the same stance, and does it really matter, we don't have to foot the bill personally. So your guess is as good as mine, and that's all it is, us fans are just an impatient bunch who go through this every transfer window, just be patient, it will all come out in the wash, it's the same thing year in year out, at least is more exciting than visiting the mother-in-law
  5. You are correct, but there is nothing to stop you owning one here and one in Scandinavia for instance.
  6. The owner has pumped in over £120 million of his own money over the years, so he would want all that back for starters, but its not going to happen.
  7. Hence the inflated prices we have quoted for the pair of them, and you are right, it could be our turn to push for promotion this coming season, and the vibes from this end is the owner/club want to keep hold of them both, I know this appears to go against our policy of “sell to survive” but there comes a time when it must stop to enable us to push on, otherwise we are still treading water again, we have to take that gamble some time, and what better time for the opening of the new stadium next year. So far we have signed only one player from Scandinavia, so time is running out.
  8. Just cast your mind back, weren't Villa asking up to £40-50 Million for Grealish who was a Championship player last year, What's good for Villa to ask that price also gives other teams the right to put a price on their Championship players as well?
  9. It's worth a try, but I think our owner would even turn that offer down, The club are in a bit of a catch 22 situation, do we sell, or do we keep? the ultimate end like all teams is to reach the Premiership and with the opening of our new stadium next year this would be the best time to keep our better players and go for promotion then, there comes a point when we have to set a high price on our players that are attracting attention, to reach our main objective. If we are to lose some players before the start of the new season you can't blame the club for wanting a high price. As for doing a P/X with Hogan, don't even go there
  10. I am no financial expert with regards to debt, but this is an extract from the latest accounts available, so it appears to be under control: Net debt hence increased from £58.4m to £69.9m (20%). Brentford are financially in decent shape with no Financial Fair Play issues surrounding the club at a time many clubs are sweating over their compliance. Player sales over the last few years have helped stabilise the club and have been reinvested well in the most part. Brentford are primed to move forward and should hope to be a financially sustainable club in a couple years, with promotion then becoming a real possibility. I don't think there is any impact, as such, with regards to selling any of our players With regards to the new stadium: The stadium arrangement is a peculiar one, with Brentford entering a development agreement with a third party (not named) who the club will sell Griffin Park to and also the land for the new stadium. Griffin Park is to be sold for £30m while the new stadium is being sold to the developer for £52m. This will raise a huge sum of cash for Brentford and a brand spanking new ground which the club will then have to lease each year rather than own, reducing the initial cash needed significantly. This will see Brentford record a massive profit on the sale of the stadium, meaning Brentford will probably record profits not only for themselves, but also for a Championship club next year. So we will be £82 million more secure when we move to the new ground next year, coupled with increased ground attendance/revenue, and corporate facilities we might even start to make a profit. Hope that helps you
  11. Why not? Sky & BT Sport are now pumping in £4.6 BILLION into Premiership football, So clubs are awash with money, so why shouldn't Championship clubs and below be part of the gravy train, and no longer be taken for a ride, there is enough money to go round for everyone, after all, Premiership clubs are even paid £90 million in parachute payments if they fail, what other industry pays you to be a failure!!!!
  12. We are happy with it, but It would be difficult because several of them formally worked for our owner who owns Smart Odds who provide statistical research and sports modeling for pro gamblers, he also own FC Midtjyland the Danish cup holders and one of our DOF'S is also a director of that club, so you see it's a closely knit and very much in house unit that would be difficult to break up.
  13. I think we will handle it the same as we handled James Tarkowski who refused to play when he knew Burnley came in for him a couple of years ago, he was suspended and put out to train with the B team until Burnley came back with an offer that was suitable to both parties, Most players don't want to cause trouble over a move as it then brands them as a "trouble maker" and does nothing but harm to their career, I feel confident that the club will handle it all in their stride should it come to that.
  14. Unlike you and all other Championship clubs we have a very small ground with no corporate facilities or other source of income, our wages bill and all out goings are probably the same as most other Championship clubs, we are also paying for our new stadium, your ground hold 4 times the amount as ours, therefore you generate so much more income, it's our player sales that keeps us afloat, Hopefully when we move into our brand new stadium next year we will be able to hang on to our best players through increased revenue.
  15. No, I think he's worth every penny and more, He has 3 years left on his contract, I personally think he's the better of the two, its his first season here and he has done so well, I think next season he will be even better, moving up tho the Premiership will not bother him at all, in fact I think it could be the making of him, we all know Villa got tucked up with Hogan but he is a different kettle of fish, he is a work horse with very quick feet and an eye for goal, as well as a good provider.
  16. That's a difficult one, obviously biased, but if I didn't support them I would say £25 million top, due to the fact he still has 2 years to run on his contract but you have to remember with the silly amount of money in the Premiership courtesy of Sky, the price will always be pushed upwards, so of course clubs will try and ask the maximum amount, they might not get it, but it's worth a try, I think Villa missed the boat in January when they could have got him for about £15 million, I think your boat could have sailed at that price, but if he does eventually go to you he will be going to a good club with DS at the helm and he will only get better, Us Bees fans are used to losing our top players so we have got use to it, we will find other gems.
  17. They will let him go if the price is right, but the price will be high because Saint Etien are in for a large 25% sell on fee, and Brentford need to make a tidy profit on sales to survive, Read into the above what you will, Their click bait sites are as bad as ours, no substance in them at all, only guess work and lazy journalism and nothing positive to write about, so far it's been reported that he's going to, Villa, Crystal Palace, Barcelona, Sevilla, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Sheff Utd amongst a few, only believe it when you read it on the official Brentford website, all other tittle tattle, just ignore.

  19. Land in West London is almost impossible to find, when you do it's a ridiculous price, the owner did not want to move far from Griffin Park and this was the only land available, Yes we could have found land cheaper about 25 odd miles away, imagine how your fans would feel if Villa moved 25 miles away from where they are, not happy I would imagine. It will be a stadium complex open 365 days of the year, with corporate facilities and the like, we are renting it out to ground share with London Irish rugby club, this will generated a lot more income, Yes we would have all liked a bigger ground, but GP is so old and falling to bits something had to be done, I will miss the place because of the standing sections for home and away supporters, that's what a proper ground should be like, I'm an old school supporter. Bourneouth have managed in the Premiership with a small ground, I can't see it being any different if we make it.
  20. Fans are strange people, just like you are.
  21. Building a new stadium is not cheap these days, especially in the London area, the cost of purchasing just the land alone is so much more than in the midlands and other regions. I don't think we are getting mugged off, we have made over £80 million in the last 3-4 years on players for an outlay of £8-£9 million, Think Hogan, who was mugged off there? And No, we don't want him back in P/EX
  22. Unfortunately we have to sell to survive, it's our major source of income, as we only have a limited ground capacity, hopefully when the new stadium is open next year the increase in attendance and revenue might put a stop to us selling our best players year on year.
  23. He is a battler and a terrier, works non stop, very skillful, unselfish, links well with other forward players, what he lacks in height he makes up for with his feet, he's every big defenders nightmare at times, just find the clip of when he scored against you at Griffin Park, he turned your defence inside out, Just look at Mings reaction, and he's a brilliant defender, but got well done that day, if he can do that to Mings there is no reason he can't repeat it to others. Very pleased for Dean Smith in taking you up, he was well liked at Brentford, we do hope to join you there in the not too distant future.
