  1. Not my words, I haven't seen Benrahma at all today, so I have no idea what he's looking like.
  2. I love the fact that we have probably stuck to our guns and not lowered the asking price, I love it, at least you and I are happy about it all.
  3. You seem to forget that you have also got a lot of weirdos as well, just like all other football club forums, unfortunately we all suffer from them, but that's life!!
  4. I think there is some pressure this year, the hope is promotion, ready to move into the new stadium at the start of next season, we have spent a record amount (for us) already, so I think we are going to give it a go.
  5. Hogan certainly did, I couldn't believe Villa fell for that one the rest haven't done too bad at all.
  6. No, The player we are after is a lot cheaper and money is not the problem, as for once we have money to spare made on deals done since January, and we have no need to sell him, but if he wants to move the club will not stand in his way, providing we get the money asked for.
  7. Complete and nonsense clap trap/rubbish from Villareport, Neither Brentford or Villa reveal what price they are willing to Sell/Buy to outsiders, especially journalist, these figures mentioned are totally made up by someone with nothing better to do with their life, all negotiations are done in the strictest privacy and will come under the heading of "Undisclosed Fee", and its not until each clubs accounts are published will we know what the fee was. My take on the Benrahma saga is that we are waiting for the the OK on the Iranian striker Saman Ghoddos from Amiens, and I think that once he has signed for us Benrahma will be free to leave, the money is on Villa but don't rule out him joining Maupay at Brighton, as they are a deadly duo and the best of friends.
  8. No none at all at the moment, all gone very quite, I think the stumbling block could well be the fee, for once we don't need to sell at a reduced price, as we have made a more than decent profit on sales recently. Hang on to your hat, because I think it will all go down to the wire on Thursday afternoon!!!!
  9. Like you, I hope he stays with us, with regards to your remark about our players are not worth what we are asking, neither you or I know the asking price, the only people privy to that information are the respective club officials, and everything is an “undisclosed fee”, prices quoted in the press are pure speculation and random guess work that it copied and pasted at will over and over again.. As an ordinary supporter you don’t think they are worth it, but football club management must know they are, and are willing to pay the price we quote and have no problem with that, as proven by the players we have already sold.
  10. You have obviously never seen Benrahma play except against Villa, I have seen him in every home match and a few away matches for Brentford for the last year, and he brings something a little bit special about him, passing, dribbling, speed etc, he may not be big but he can tie defenders in knots at times, DS will get even more out of him, and he would be a brilliant buy for you, Why hasn't he signed for you yet ? As he still has 3 years left on his contract my guess is we are holding out for the price (unknown) we have asked and are not prepared to budge, after all, with the sale of Maupay yesterday we have made a handsome profit margin this year on player sales, even with our record purchases recently we are still Millions of pounds ahead, and don't need to sell him.
  11. Benrahma is a fantastic player, so skillful and quick, scores some good goals, as well as being a very good provider, I was surprised Villa never went for Maupay as well as they worked so well together, Konsa is one for the future, a brilliant young player with bags of development left.
  12. We would have to look harder, the players that we like to buy are obviously out there, it's down to each individual club to find them.
  13. Our record signing as well, with a 5 year contract, "Undisclosed Fee" is the official version from the club, according to the press £5.8 million rising to £7 million with add ons, he should be ready for you in about 12-18 months time for at least £60 Million!!!!
  14. Last instalment payment I believe, there are very few exceptions when clubs pay for transfers in one go, instalments can be spread over 2-4 years with agreements in place, a majority of clubs now have built in extra's when selling a player, such as games played, international recognition, sell on clauses, to name a few, a check with companies house will reveal what clubs finances are with regards to buying and selling players, its not difficult to find out if you know where to look.
  15. Yes I think he is, also like Hazard, He's one of these small quick players that can turn defences inside out on his day, he was a joy to watch.
  16. Very confident, come back and berate me if it doesn't happen!!!, The talk has been going around for a few weeks now, and yesterday at the ground almost confirmed it, he was a great favorite of DS, if anyone knows how good he is, Dean does, not only does he score goals, he makes them as well.. We will pocket more than that, Villa paid us the £3 million owing for Hogan + £5 million for Yennaris to China + £7 million for Woods, so it makes it nearer £70 million this year, mind you we have spent or are going to spend at least £25 million by the close of play Thursday, the biggest spend record by us, by far, but still leaves a tidy profit.
  17. Surgery went well on his ankle, He's back in light training at the moment, a little way off playing, but he's getting there and shouldn't be long until he's ready, FWIW, the word around the Brentford ground yesterday is that he is on his way to you for the price we want, (don't ask, because all deals are done in private between clubs, you will only find out the true price when the clubs yearly returns are produced.) all this £20 million pounds nonsense is just hearsay and tittle tattle, it could be less, it could be more!! Maupay is allegedly off to Brighton, again for the price we want, out of the two, Benrahma is the best, and will only get better, I think you will be very pleased if you get him, will be sorry to see them both go, but us supporters are used to this year on year, still we hopefully have 3 new exciting players coming in by Thursday, ready to sell on next year for a profit, or keep if we do well!!!. Good luck to Villa, DS has made some good buys, and I think you will do OK and finish at least halfway up the table.
  18. Brentford have completed the signing of Ecuadorian winger César Joel Valencia Castillo on a 4 year contract, for an undisclosed fee, (not £20 million) that could leave the door open for Maupay!!
  19. Good lord, no!!! perhaps if you give £20 Million and pay Hogans wages for 3 years we might consider it.
  20. No Way, the best ever was the great Jim Towers, and yes I did see Jimmy play live many times, and I was only using the "goal poacher" saying as a quote, Jimmy was one of the best ever strikers as well as a great goal poacher, and certainly Hogan was/is nowhere near as good, as never has been, there was only one Jimmy Greaves.
  21. Unfortunately you had a coach that didn't know how to use him, he was an out and out "goal poacher" just like Jimmy Greaves, didn't track back, hardly bothered to tackle, at Brentford he was fed by some very good midfielders with accurate passing skills most of the time, almost putting scoring on a plate, I think your coach thought he was a team player, far from it, he was lazy, wasn't getting the support from your midfield that he needed, therefore was not a success with you, Hogan also had a touch of thinking he was better that he really was, by the time Dean Smith came along Hogan was too far down the line to recapture his scoring abilities that he had with us, hope that helps.
  22. It's been well documented on how highly Dean Smith thought of him when he was our coach, the respect was mutual, and its far easier for a non UK national to play for someone he knows well, you have large crowds, good support and can pay a lot more in wages than we can, so its not a difficult choice to make, I think the only team that could stand in your way would be Brighton, but I think that is a long shot. Most paper talk is just that, but being a supporter of a club you piece together snippets of information gained from more reliable sources rather than believe click bait and the like.
  23. You are not wrong in your appraisal of Neil Maupay, he will be every defenders nightmare, small, quick, nippy and able to turn defenders inside out at times, just look back when you played us at Griffin Park and look at the reaction of Mings when he done him up like a kipper and scored. We know It’s on the cards he will be on his way to you once we have signed our new forward, that’s why he’s not be involved in pre season matches, as we are protecting him from injury to get a price that is suitable to both sides. If you do get him you will not be disappointed, he’s the hardest working forward I have ever seen in over 60 years of supporting the Bees, and please don’t compare him with that lazy arse Hogan, his work rate and attitude are worlds apart, and no, we don’t want Hogan back. !!!
  24. With inflation that will be £22 million
