  1. Not today. I think there is a feeling that DS has ‘confirmed’ we need to sell before we buy. But as last night showed I don’t think they’ll be many clubs rushing in for any of our players.
  2. It’s bizarre that there are people seemingly happy that should Watkins get an injury, Davis is our only other recognised ST. And until Engels is fully fit, a knock to Konsa or Mings means either Elmo (!!!!) or Hause. The only rationale given is ‘let the squad settle / don’t disrupt the squad’. I say feck that and let’s try and finish as high up the Prem as possible.
  3. We would be mad to try and demand a fee for a player we desperately off our books who’s in the last year of his contract. As always the stumbling block will be wages.
  4. Btw, I’m not saying all four before Monday......I’d say 1 or 2 max. The other 1 or 2 might then come in the domestic window.
  5. I would say that that is the only thing he can say in the run up to the deadline. And remember if someone comes in for just Davis (which I’m sure they will) even that ‘opens the door’ for a ST to come in.
  6. I’m normally the pessimist / cynic but I can’t believe that after last season (and last night...) we’re going to go into the season light on attackers. I’m hopeful for at least two and up to four if we can shift a couple (eg AEG, Nakamba).
  7. Trouble is Spurs will fleece us for him.
  8. Yes and more importantly I’ve been to Liverpool too.
  9. Err no....mainly because (I) the buy back clause after 12 months will be more than £23.5m and (II) ‘sell on-fee’ is a misnomer as the clause will only kick in if they sell him for more than the £23.5m they bought him for. In the unlikely event that they sold him for £10m next season, Liverpool aren’t going to get £1.5m. Youd have to be particularly stupid to agree to that kind of clause.
  10. Haha, yes. I think he believed all the hype that he was a genius manager who could polish turds.
  11. With Brewster now gone to Sheff Utd I’m pretty confident we’ll sign someone BETTER than Brewster. Mayen, Sarr, Edoaurd....Costa.... Who knows but I’m confident they’ll be better than Brewster.
  12. I think Solanke was just vastly overrated simply because he was in the Liverpool squad. Anyway it was Eddie Howe who was fooled and that really didn’t surprise me at all as he was vastly overrated as a manager.
  13. At least Brewster has shown some ability to score in the Chumps, albeit only for half a season. Solanke much more like Davis....
  14. Exactly, if he played in the Prem, Chumps or SPL he’d cost twice as much.
  15. What I’m living about the rumours this window is just when you think all the targets have been identified it’s like .......BANG....here’s another target that’s EVEN better. I was very happy with one of Brewster or Sarr..... but now the only player I want as wide player / ST is Donyell Malen! Perfect player fit wise, and like Traore, spent the early part of his career in the UK so no questions about him settling!
  16. I know, you’re right - just my impression. And besides it’s a testament to just how good our signings have been this summer that I’m saying this about Shakpoke. Most other summers he’d be our major signing and I’d be delighted
  17. Because the other players signed seem a level higher!
  18. Funnily enough the Shakpoke signing - even though it seems to have taken the longest time - is probably the most underwhelming signing we’ve made at the academy level.
  19. Just on Kerr Smith, and I guess Ben Chrisene too, we’re going to have to be careful how we manage their careers. It’ll be odd for them having been on the cusp of regular men’s football to find them just in an academy structure. It maybe right for them for this season at the age of 16 but next season they have to be part of the U23s and loaned back out to lower league clubs when they are 18/19.
  20. Yeah, so he’s repeating what he said about Traore being able to play through the middle. And imo Sarr more that kind of player than Rashica.
  21. I am sure DS did not allude to Rashica. He alluded to it with Traore though because he is actually our player.
  22. I don’t know if it’s fanciful thinking but a loan for Diego Costa does make sense. Hugely experienced ST who plugs a hole for this season, so Wes isn’t rushed back from injury.
  23. So you’d prefer to get a player we don’t need (a winger mainly) over a player we do need (a proper back up ST)?
