  1. They all seem to think they’re getting an amazing deal. They can’t believe they’ve gotten 33. Worrying sign?
  2. I’m not really sure where he could leave to? Man U don’t seem like they need him with Fernandes and a rejuvenated Pogba. Can’t see Man City going for him with their depth in his position. Chelsea seem to have their sights on other signings. Maybe he would fit with Liverpool, but seen nothing linking him there. Maybe Spurs, but not sure he’s a Mourinho singing. He would be good for Arsenal, but I don’t think they’re likely to splash that kinda cash on him and they may well not be in Europe. All the rest, don’t have enough of a “big club” status and I don’t see Jack going abroad at this stage in his career.
  3. The real issue second half was Marvellous, hospital pass after hospital pass, kept reapplying the pressure to our back line.
  4. The Dr’s previous statement said he was looking at lots of different offers. Would be trans to consider diluting ownership when they have so much money themselves. And why would they bother teaming up wit the Dr in the first place? They’re not short on cash, if they wanted to act as a consortium you’d think they’d back someone with more football experience?
  5. It’s not suprising that a fair few great players become great coaches, they have so many more opportunities afforded to them. Lampard just got the Derby job off no management experience. But the prem has been dominated in the past by managers who were not top players: Ferguson, Wenger and Mourinho. It’s time to realise the quality of a player has very little bearing on the their quality as a manager.
  6. Look I do think Grealish is a good player, and I like that he’s one of our own. But I think we could definitely get more money for him than he’s worth, and if that helps free of us of the lock on spending from ffp then can’t just be dismissed out of hand
  7. First post, and proabbaly an unpopular one. Before the new billionaires came in I was for the sale of Jack, and even now, due to FFP constraints, if a good offer comes along I think we should accept it. Dont get me wrong, I think Jack’s a good player but I think we over rate him. He reminds me a bit of Sterling for England. Jack’s a fantastic dribbler, he wins free kicks and opens up space - all of which is useful. But he has no real end product. He doesn’t look to have a good final ball in him, and worse is his shooting. Due to his dribbling ability he often finds himself with a bit of space on the edge of the box, the perfect position to strike, and he looks like he doesn’t even think about it as an option, usually preffering to run sideways and gift the opposition defence time to get back into position. There are other players in his position who offer much more of a goal threat and have better desicion making but who are cheaper for being less ‘flashy’.

    Hello

I've followed villa talk for years but never made an account. Recently I've increasingly wanted to make a comment so thought it was about time I made an account. Unfortunately haven't watched that much of villa as I'm at uni, but try and go to villa park when possible. Shame its another year in the championship
