  1. I was saying this to my mate in the pub last night too. But under DS I'm pretty confident we can handle whatever is thrown at us. We all have to be aware that West Brom will have periods of dominance in this game. They have nothing to lose and will have to push up at some stage. We need Tammy on the top of his games as we will get chances, its all about taking them.
  2. I lived in the Middle East for years and Ramadan isn't a hard and fast rule. If you have reason to break the fast early or not do it for a day it's perfectly fine. Just so we're clear people observing the fast don't eat or drink in daylight hours. In parts of the world where you have long daylight hours (so in this part of the world when Ramadan falls in summer), people often observe Mecca hours of light and darkness. So I can only assume that Anwar and the staff will make a call on this. But if he is observing the full fast there is no way he should be in the 18, nevermind the starting 11.
  3. It’s funny how things and times change. This time last season we got to the playoff final playing a bit like Baggies did yesterday. We scored from a corner against Boro and then sat back and effectively soaked up pressure for a game and a half. The great difference is that we were the aggressors yesterday. There was only one team that wanted to win that’s game. Only one team that actually wanted to play football. I think a few key decisions went our way. I think the pen should be given but some refs wouldn’t have. I think Tammy could have given away a pen. I think the Gayle second yellow is a little harsh. But when the pen was given should Gibbs be getting a second yellow. I think they will have to come out an play on Tuesday night. I just hope that means a bit more space for Grealish and McGinn to play in. The next goal is critically important. Still confident we will do enough.
  4. Really poor first half. Terrible mistake has gifted them a goal and they have refused to play since then. I’d get Hourihane on for Whelan and maybe Green for Adomah.
  5. I don’t think there’s a ‘too early’ to drink!
  6. For everyone going to the game, enjoy it. It will be a great spectacle. Who could have seen this last summer when the talk was so negative? I’ll be watching from my couch in sunny Ireland. Wish I was at VP!
  7. Jedi has been very good since signing for Villa but I don't think he has the legs to play the way DS demands. I think he's good cover to have on the bench if we need to see out a game. But he shouldn't be starting any of the next 2-3 games. If Hourihane isn't going to start Whelan is more than capable of stepping in. Personally, I'd start Hourihane because of his quality from set plays.
  8. It’s Monday morning and I’m not working and this week is already dragging. Getting through the Norwich game unscathed was the only result that mattered. The fact Grealish, McGinn, Mings and Abraham were all rested tells you all 4 will start. I think the team almost picks it’s self at the minute. Only decisions are who plays holding midfield and who gets the call on the wing Green or Albert. I think I’d go with this: Steer Elmo Tuanzebe Mings Taylor Whelan Green McGinn Grealish ElGhazi Abraham
  9. Disappointed to lose. Only because it would have been nice to stay invested going into the playoffs. But the most important thing was giving Grealish, McGinn and Mings the afternoon off so all are fit for next week. And hopefully Abraham will be back for the first leg.
  10. I thought centre backs were fantastic, to be honest, I thought the back four and the keeper all had decent games. Like most are saying, I think we leave McGinn, Grealish, Steer, and anyone who is carrying a knock like Tammy out of the Norwich game.
  11. Green has looked good for the last 5-10 mins. Just in time to head off.
  12. Don Goodman. The only man in the world that can compare the tackle on Jack and that tackle by Green.
  13. Been a good watch so far. The Leeds fans having a cry about every decision has been a real plus. Manager, fans, team all feeling the pressure.
  14. Kodija needs to work on his passing. Terrible weight and direction of passing so far. His hold up play is decent but passing is letting him down.
  15. I think there are two parts to this. The first "Are thing better under DS?" The quick answer is yes. The slightly longer answer, even when we were winning games under Bruce we were never controlling the game. When we went 1 up the plan was always to sit back and try spring a break. It worked at times last season but it was dour football. Under Smith, the players are encouraged to play and actually try to influence the game no matter what the score. I would love to get promoted this season but with DS I'm confident if it doesn't happen this year it will happen next year. The second part is about Super Jack, there's no doubt we are a much much better team with him in there. He is so important not only in what he does but also the amount of attention he gets from the opposition which creates space for others. For me he's the best player in this league and any team would miss that in their team. I think most of us know that without promotion this year he will most likely go in the summer, but he's been unplayable at times since he's returned. I'd be tempted to leave him out at the weekend, no doubt Leeds will target him and he doesn't get much protection from refs. Any sort of injury right now could mean missing the playoffs.
  16. No matter the outcome of the playoffs, Smith, his staff and the players deserve a huge amount of credit for putting this run together and earning a playoff place. The way it’s going right now I’d think Derby (or whoever finishes 6th) will fancy their chances against Leeds. We need to focus on our own game. No doubt if we perform we will win more than we lose.
  17. I’m not sure who the commentator is on sky sports. But he’s dying for Millwall to score. He also loves their keeper as he’s Nigel Martin’s son.
  18. I think a bit of rotation is required here. We need McGinn and Grealish fresh for the playoffs I’d put Hourihane, Davis, Green and Lansbury in the starting line up. There is talk Chester is getting back towards fitness. But if Tuanzebe is out Jedi needs to start.
  19. So close from Davis. Great feet, shot just wide!
