  1. Amazed at sticking with Samatta. Astonished, even.
  2. There's simply no way Samatta can reappear for the second half.
  3. Heard that Mings was having a go at Samatta. Fair play.
  4. For me, put El Ghazi up front. We're playing without a striker anyway...
  5. Exactly. Bournemouth to lose is all we can ask for.
  6. I think if it does all boil down to that final game against West Ham, then we will at least finally have a definition of what constitutes: "Must Win".
  7. It does look as though 7 points from the remaining fixtures is the minimum requirement to stand any chance now that Bournemouth have put the cat amongst the pigeons.
  8. It's that Arsenal game I worry about... against Watford. They can be brilliant one game and horrific the next. You don't need me to explain which way around this pattern might fall. *edit* though at least Arsenal are at home, and will want to give the piped-in fans something to cheer.
  9. Just to chuck something else in... Brighton have Southampton, Newcastle and Burnley to play, and they're on 36 points. Lose all 3, and we gain this 7 points we're all chucking around, then it could be Brighton that we catch and send down.
  10. Everton seem to have given up. Arsenal's defence absolutely terrible. West Ham hopefully safe on final game. We've definitely got a chance. 7 points from these games? Would it be enough??
  11. Personally I'd stick with Dean Smith, and I think we will for both practical and long-term reasons. One being the massive upheaval involved, and the other the limited time between seasons. Surely JT will leave though, which seems right, given our defensive record.
  12. Well said. This absolutely HAS to be a thing of the past, because really, desperately average players filling up the bench on massive wages has come to define this club over the last 10 years.
  13. Love this kind of optimism, but of course here's the flaw: Could a different team capitalize and really push hard to keep things interesting given the same circumstances? Yes, absolutely. Could the Villa? No.
  14. Whenever I heard an ex-pro trot out the old, "There's always twists and turns and surprising results right to the end," you just knew that wouldn't apply to the Villa. Congratulations to West Ham and Watford.
  15. Yep, along with our now established losing mentality, the players will see the task is insurmountable. That's that then. Actually feel quite emotional, rather than the numbness I expected.
  16. Oh well. I wish I could say it was nice to have been back in the big league for a spell, but it really wasn't.
  17. By the sounds of it, they also seem to miss a hatful. They should be out of sight in this game, and *could* still lose.
  18. I wonder if any of the Norwich players will come out after the match and say: "Now that relegation is confirmed we can relax and give something back to the fans...." or whatever poorly considered, loathsome thing it was that JL said those few years back.
  19. The one factor that consistently lets us down in this furious calculation of permutations, is Aston Villa.
  20. "Must win" has been thrown around........ well, forever, but Sunday is now very much the definition of the term. Lose, and although mathematically yes we could still do it I think the players' confidence and even desire for the fight will be shot to pieces. Can't help but think a draw will just needlessly extend the pain for everyone connected to the club. A win will at least keep things interesting for the final round of games.
