  1. Very true. Sounds much like Samu Saiz actually. Goals and assist wise he and Grealish are on par, 1 each. But you could say about Saiz what you said about Grealish so i fully understand. He may not be putting it in the net or on someones foot to tap in but he is making a difference somehow. But i suppose the difference so far is we sit top, so the fans can accept the lack of end product from Samu. If we were you id be very frustrated with him. Imo a number 10 should be making the difference, they should be the player who is doing the important things when the teams struggling. I think perhaps that is where Grealish is letting you down. Special players do special things when the chips are down. Cant judge his potential so i leave that to you.
  2. You can be a good team player and do your defensive duties but still have an impact going forward though. I take the point about Bruce maybe expecting to much defensively. But the lad has 9 career league goals and 10 assists at 23. Thats less then some players get in 1 season. Bruce or no Bruce doesnt that suggest he has a problem with making the difference when it matters?
  3. I mean i wouldn't like to say that myself because i dont want to argue. But yes, i agree to an extent, i thought some of the stuff written about him was silly. Talented, sure. But better then Dele Ali or James Maddison even, no not for me.
  4. He does get kicked a lot, saw that the other night. But, he isnt alone. If he really is to good for the league as some think then he should still make an impact surely? Different league of course but Messi gets kicked from pillar to post, his class still shines through.
  5. All as 1 or not at all is probably best. Nothing worse then a fanbase at war with each other. Depressing as hell. Bruce has a 45% win percentage. I wouldn't want him at Leeds, his football may be dire, he has underachieved. But it could be a hell of a lot worse couldn't it. We had a manager with a 42% win percentage. Some People got restless. We ended up with 1 who got a 20% win percentage. Grass isnt always greener.
  6. I have a question. Not a wind up just a question to those who blame Steve Bruce for Grealish under performing, saying its because of Bruces style, or his teammates or whatever. Pablo Hernandez at 32 was directly responsible for 38% of the points Paul Heckingbottom achieved. Either scoring or assisting, and we were worse then you are now, we were hopeless. So, my question is. If an ageing past his prime Pablo Hernandez can drag a terrible Leeds side (without your strong squad) and with an even worse manager then Bruce, if Pablo can directly earn us points in spite of the circumstances, why cant Grealish?
  7. Watched him with interest today. Remembering the stuff in the summer and the price tags being thrown about, some saying he is better then Dele Ali and worth more then James Maddison. Imo he is talented yes, but he is 23 now, no longer a teenager. Over 100 career games, Premier league experience. If he is as good as some think then he should be really dominating games at this level, he should be taking games by the balls and making stuff happen. He doesnt seem to do that, certainly didnt today. The best players at this level raise those around them or make the difference themselves. Can blame Bruce, his teammates etc. Grealish has a great work ethic, but his impact on games isnt good enough for the hype. (Football fans opinion, not a Leeds fan).
  8. Interesting. How would you describe him style wise? Main attributes etc? He has had injury problems, started both cup games and was very poor. If he was an academy kid he looked the sort you'd say "yeah definitely not ready".
  9. Take a draw from the next one now. Forshaw, Roofe, Hernandez, Berardiand Bamford unavailable. Forget the game, 0-0 draw, lets agree now, come on Millwall, you know it makes sense you plonkers (native tongue innit)
  10. Knew some asshole had voodoo dolls of the Leeds team somewhere ? Roofe is injured, wont play vs Millwall
  11. Losing Bamford is a huge blow. Our squad isnt blessed with depth. But we have the form u23 side in our group for the entire year. Since January we are top. Lot of talent in the youth teams, the club wanted to create continuity through the age groups style wise. Carlos Corberan the u23 boss has been working with Bielsa and the U23s this season. So tge u23s know the style, they know one of the coaches, he knows them. I'm quite excited, reminds me of my childhood under O'Leary, get the youngsters in.
  12. Agreed. At least its a bit exciting and different for our clubs. Celtic fans must get a bit bored. Same reason I'm not to fussed about The Prem. Aside from a few clubs all you have to hope for is midtable.
  13. True. But i do look forward to the annual trip to YouTube to decide if our new signing is any good.
  14. Sometimes i shed a tear for those fans who dont know the excitement that comes from the uncertainty. Imagine how dull it must be to be a Manchester City fan? Winning football matches most weeks. Blah?
  15. We play Millwall Saturday, same weekend as last season, we know what happened after that. Give it till Sunday mate. Just saying.?
  16. Shucks thanks, i dont know how to respond to that modestly . . . . Sod it, yeah you're right i am pretty awesome?
  17. He's won 4 promotions though. Hasnt he told you??
  18. When i asked what style you used nobody could say. A season ticket holder said he didnt know. My point is after 2 years with the amount of money Bruce has had it should be obvious what style you use, and your squad should be built to suit it. Like Pulis at Boro (in less time) like Warnock at Cardiff, who got the job at Cardiff about the same time as when Bruce got your job. If as you say your style is meant to be like Cardiff, fair enough, i assumed you would try and be more pretty football wise, given the money you have spent, that was why i mentioned the ball playing cbs. If Bruce aspires to be like Cardiff and Neil Warnock style wise then fair enough, its not pretty, but it shouldn't be difficult for the clubs fans to describe. Im still shocked that nobody was really able to describe a playing style when i asked, your the first, and when ive watched you cant say that ive ever thought "yes, i can see what the game plan is here", definitely never made the connection between Cardiff last season and you last season or so far this,. If, as you say, and it sounds logical, if you do play similarly to Cardiff then surely Bruce should be sacked for failing where Warnock succeed under much harder circumstances? I think if you are striving to be Cardiff then Bruce has done an even more shit job then i first thought, i can understand taking time to play good football, but to play Warnock style, with your budget, and fail, thats even worse.
  19. Personally i think until Bruce decides what sort of side he wants to be you will fall short promotion wise. As established before nobody is entirely certain what style you play. Warnock for all his faults has a way, he makes signings for that style and thats it, its not pretty but it works, the signings may not be exciting but they suit what he needs. Pulis the same, only have to look at Boro and there business this summer. He makes signings to fit his style. Wolves last summer with the quality was a bit different , but they fit the style Nuno wanted to play. But yours, do they fit? If your squad and signings dont fit the style it doesnt matter how good they are imo. El Ghazi, Grealish, McGinn etc, good ball players, probably want the ball on the ground as much as possible. But then you look at your defence, are they good ball playing defenders? If so great, if not then they will hoof whenever pressured. Kodjia and Abraham are both big tall players, able to handle a hoof, but surely its better to pick a style and stick, that way your players know whats expected and can train accordingly. Imo you have a bit of a contradiction player wise, ball players mixed with less able and thats why it makes it difficult to pinpoint your style, because it fluctuates depending on who is in possession or on the pitch. If Bruce had picked a style 2 years ago and signed players accordingly youd be promoted by now imo.
  20. Hows he done? Curious, since we were linked with him (we have Jack Clarke so not fussed)? Goal and assist sounds good but can be poo and still get a goal and an assist.
  21. Noo I'm normally quite negative, I'm trying to change. At the end of last season you'r right, there are plenty i would have sold. Cooper, Berardi, Phillips the main 3 and wouldn't have been against Saiz going for the right price either. I'm still unchanged on the first 3, 6 games hasnt changed my mind. If i was to make a leeds villa 11 then as ot is if everyone is fit. 4-2-3-1 Gk-Bailey Peacock Farrell. Rb-Luke Ayling Lb-Barry douglas Cbs- Pontus Jansson and James Chester Cms- McGinn and klich Rw- Pablo herbandez Lw- El Ghazi Am- Samu Saiz Striker- Tammy Abraham. Very difficult, picked El Ghazi because he as a goal and an assist already and he has some height, clearly has quality. Chester i thought always looked your best cb. Tammy has everything you want in a striker. And from reading McGinn is class. Close between a few, Grealish and Saiz, Bolasie if he is Palace Bolasie and Pablo, Roofe has been on fire, Bamford and Kodjia have quality, but prefer Abraham if he is BCFC one. Havent seen enough of your gks and full backs to judge.
  22. True, and if we lose 2 or 3 it will be a crisis. Very dramatic us football fans. Personally when Bruce was mentioned for us in the summer i was horrified so can understand those on here wanting him gone.
  23. Agreed. Defensively i can see why you may struggle. Attack wise i cant, thats Bruces fault if its his defensive style causing that.
