  1. There were some serious doubters when the takeover was announced but Big Tone has truly put his money where his mouth is. Imagine what next transfer window will be like if we get promoted.

    All hail Tony Xia.

  2. B*llocks to Traore's potential, we need delivery now.

We've traded a lazy, expensive, arrogant piece of **** who's permanently injured and whose contribution to Villa can be measured in minutes, for a hard working player with decent stats, a good track record and is rarely out injured.

    What's not to like?

Us, Trabzonspor linked and now West Ham? Is there something in his contract that says he can only play for clubs that wear claret and blue?

I'm putting my money on him going to Scunthorpe.

The rumour is that he's not playing him because he came back in pre-season unfit and overweight.

Let's hope we avoid any African players. We can't afford to have several critical players go missing for a month at such a busy and critical point in the season.

Snippets from these two consecutive posts gave me horrible flashbacks to the Agbonlahor situation last season.

I need to go and lie down for a while.

What is it with all these sad people making shit up? Are their lives that broken?

    Agreed.

This thread has descended from transfer  speculation to the land of friggin' make believe in the last couple of days due to all this b*llocks on Twitter.

I honestly don't think he's the main problem here. The stuff we're seeing we've been seeing for years and I guarantee that if we got rid of him now the same thing would be happening regardless of who came in.

I'm convinced it's something intangible, a sort of mental block that runs through the club and infects any new arrivals. We've spent so long being poor, so long collapsing whenever teams attack that even when we're playing well (which we've actually done for periods of every game this season bar Luton), everything is in danger of nosediving at the slightest push. I think the only way out of it is just to start winning more but that's obviously going to be very hard when we're stuck in this cycle.

But how can that be the case?

We have a new manager, new back room staff and not far off a new starting eleven. If there's something intangible affecting the club then it can only be some sort of curse or evil spirit.

In which case, should we start praying Mantis?

They play in our colours don't they?

Yes, apparently in tribute to us. My favourite Turkish club for that reason alone, if they take Richards off our hands I'll ****ing love them.

Wonder what he feels about moving there personally?

Can't say I'd want to go to Turkey in a hurry,,,how close is this club to the Syrian border.

Giazantepsor is based very close to the border and that town is seeing plenty of attacks and Istanbul has had a few in last 6 months...

I accept it can happen anywhere in europe but Turkey is right in the firing line. Wasn't the Fenerbache team bus shot at last year?

Trabzon is on the north (Black Sea) coast so a long way from the Syrian border.

Can't see this one happening, much as I want it to. If it comes off it would be:

greek football don't have the money to pay his wages... cant see this one happening

I so want to believe this will happen, but I fear a Greek tragedy awaits us.

If Lescott and Richards both go, this transfer window is definitely sponsored by Carlsberg.

Didn't we sign him from palace . Are you thinking of someone else ?

We signed Stuart Gray from Barnsley at around the same time. A mix up between Grays and grim northern towns / cities perhaps?

Although one Gray was white and the other was black.

Hopefully that clears up any confusion.

  11. Oh dear. This shit with Lescott and Richards this transfer window. It's like seeing your lottery numbers come in, then realising you left your ticket in your jeans pocket and they've just come out of the washing machine.

  12. Agree with others - I think this is going to be our most important signing this window.

We'll need his grit, determination and mentality both Home and Away this season, and especially in our derbies against our Neighbours at the sty.

    I'll see myself out...

  13. RDM is building a team of professionals who are prepared to spill blood for this club.

Another work shy mercenary who doesn't fit that mould - move him on.

You don't miss what you've never had and let's face it we've seen **** all from him.

There isn't a single better signing we could realistically make right now. I mean right now, following a bit of a sickner of a result. Now is the time for leaders.

Please could you just clarify exactly when would be the best time to sign him?

  15. Disappointing result but we should get some perspective. We could and should have been out of sight and paid for missed chances.

We still have Jedinak, who will add steel and help us to take games by the scruff of the neck, to come in.

We have made huge changes and are still a work in progress; the team is not going to gel immediately and are not going to get into our stride in the same way as some more established teams in this division.

In the same way that it was daft getting carried away with beating Rotherham, we shouldn't be too down about this setback, regardless of who was to blame. I'm p*ssed off with once again conceding a late goal but it's not all doom and gloom and with Jedinak and maybe one or two others in, I still think things will begin to click and we can have a strong season.
