  1. Regardless of who was the worst, it's Lescott that's disappointed me the most this season. I never liked him before we signed him; there was a certain arrogance about him and his over exuberant celebrations when he scored against us,  considering he was supposedly a Villa fan, wound me up big time. And I never liked the way he lookd like a Lego character with his hair stuck on lopsided. I realise he can't help the last of those points.

I thought when he signed that it was a chance to redeem himself. But no. Poor on the pitch and a total knob off it. He exemplifies all that is wrong with the modern day footballer.

It will end in tears.  Not a strong enough manager for the c*^ts in our squad

Hopefully the c*^ts in our squad will be shipped out. His CV is good, I'm cautiously optimistic (that term's been used a lot lately) about next season.

If our new owners are serious about Promotion, Becoming an established Top six Premier league club and then Competing/Challenging in Europe.

Someones been on the Crystal Meth if they think one off RDM, Pearson, Bruce, Martinez  is gonna take to new bright **** sunlit uplands!

We are damaged goods at the moment and beggers can't be choosers. That's been stated before. We can worry about Europe if and when we achieve our shorter term objectives. The next manager needs to do that and I can see pros and cons with most of the candidates in the frame.

Pep Guardiola might be interested in us in a few years time but until then...

I wouldn't be surprised if they announce the new manager at 28th day, as AFAIK number 8 symbolizes luck or good fortune to the chinese.

New owner will be wanting to change Idrissa Gueye's squad number for next season then.

Choosing between Pearson and RDM is like choosing a kick in the balls from the left foot or the right foot!

Interesting analogy. I guess by the same token, having Neil Warnock as manager would be like having a kick in the knackers from Stuart Pearce's left foot.

No it's what is meant by dodging a bullet i'm ecstatic that Pearson has turned us down

Is this actually true? The odds on Oddschecker don't seem to suggest he has. They moved out significantly as soon as news of Moyes' snub broke but Pearson is still as low as 2/1 with some bookies.

He knows the region and is a very qualified man. However, unfortunately Chinese businesses operate in a completely different way to those within Europe and the West. It is not nearly beyond the realms of possibility that if they wanted to hide something, or make it as though something is there which isn't they could do exactly that.

I was only talking to somebody this evening who has been dealing with KPMG themselves in the last few years, and they have been wrong several times. Millions of £ wrong.

All professional services firms will get things wrong occasionally, but they also get a lot of things right. I've worked in the industry for many years; it's heavily regulated and mistakes can cause huge reputational damage. Given his credentials I remain optimistic that Steve Hollie has done the right due diligence here. I too can't imagine how a prospective manager have found out anything that Hollis would not already have been aware of.

  8. Hello everyone

Long time Villa fan and long time reader of this forum, finally decided it was time to take the plunge.

First started going to Villa games in the 80s, was a season ticket holder during the 90s and lucky enough to be at Wembly for both of our cup final wins. Since marriage and kids (and Villa generally going downhill!) my attendance has diminished and I pick and choose my games these days. Highlights include Big Ron's first game in charge, 2-3 away at Wednesday and the semi-final second leg against Tranmere. Oh, and the 5-1 home victory against the noses in 2008.
