@Genie‘s concerns are valid, we don’t know if they will gel. I believe they will as I think there will be quite a good team spirit amongst the place. I think on paper the team has improved, and some of the players look very accomplished on the ball which is exciting. No one can say who is wrong or right tho, becoming a long drawn out argument that is going nowhere. I think we can all agree tho that it’s going to be a very exciting season and I think we will turn over some of the big teams.

Very shrewd signing, 10x better then Steer thankfully! Was worried premier league strikers would ping them in for fun against Steer, Heaton is pure quality, if he can do a Friedel for us I’ll be very happy.

Sorry misread your post wrong, I don’t think they will allow us to flirt with the possibility of getting relegated, we could become one year behind schedule not really that illogical to think they would be dismayed during the season if that’s the predicament we potentially find ourselves in.

If we finish 17th I obviously would be happy to survive but I think the owners and Purslow would be dismayed at that! Would they sack Dean Smith if we are sat bottom of table come Christmas, course they would.

Can’t believe it was allowed to happen, never thought I’d see Aston Villa relegated, I started supporting Villa when Big Ron was in charge so kinda was used to always being a top team, the fall from Grace was something else.

Thing is for the most part those players have done okay, I think we just didn’t have a cohesive management/senior level team who shared a joint vision, manager didn’t want them, it was all just disjointed and it reflected in the results sadly.
