    not sure if that is true. Changchun Yatai is a poor club that does not seem to have £20m.

    well. I am afraid that is the reality now.

    Despite how mighty we were (still are, you may argue), we are not attractive to top players anymore. And this can only get worse and worse if we stay in this league longer.

    Unfortunately not. At the moment there is very little (close to none) media coverage of Villa (even its owner is a Chinese). This is not difficult to understand - reporting this will not give the media any more 'traffic'. because 1)  Xia is not very well known in China (which is not necessarily a bad thing though, if you know what I mean).  2) There is absolutely ZERO coverage of English championships football in China, none.  3) people only follow top top clubs (in Premier League, these are top 4. Tottenham is a borderline popular club. Nobody is interested in, say Stoke City (9th now), none).  4) It is even worse considering the development of domestic league in China. People start to follow local teams. - nobody wants to get up at 3am to watch football (for Barca, people do that), but not for championships I am afraid. 

    Now put that into context of Tony's ambition of 'becoming a top club of EU football', you now see the point of why he wanted that? :D 

    There are only two ways of developing a huge fan base (we are talking about millions at least), which will give a lot income in return

    1) one short-term solution (buy one Chinese player, and play him at least as rotation player - in a few months time, TV rights will be introduced to China and millions of fans watching and following), 2) one long-term (get to Premier League and become top 4 - this is not as effective though. people will still follow, say Man U. because a Chinese owner means nothing to them, Chinese player does, a lot)

    Just to give you an example - about 15 years ago, one Chinese player played for Frankfurt FC in Bundasliga. One last match of that season they had to win to stay in that league, and that player started as first XI. That match was broadcast in CCTV 5 (like BBC 2), and had 25 million viewers in that 90 mins (game was at 3am in China). I will not be surprised if Villa one day play against Man U/Arsenal, and a Chinese player starts in first XI, having over 40 million viewers in China.

    BTW, I just watched the New year's eve Gala (on CCTV 1) on TV with family. 780 million views in four hours.... And 5 seconds commercials at the start, guess what....worth 10 million pounds. That is the potential of the market, and it will be a shame if Villa does not that advantage of that, once back to Premier League. This is also why, in my opinion, the earlier the better for Villa to go back to PL, because that is when this club can 'take full advantage' of Xia's ownership to achieve what people could not dare to dream under other 'normal' owners.

    yes if you translate back to CN and then back to EN, it makes more sense.

    it means, I think:

    we know what we are doing(in a tune in response to critism). I am also a football fan, but business is business. This happens in business all the time (don't involve too much personal things in it)

    so basically xia confirmed the ongoing deal about Jack, and the club does not think Jack is unsellable.

    I am usually a person with a lot patience. But with this squad, I Expect at least 2-3 wins in the next five games, no matter who the opponents are (in championships ofc).

    This guys companies have involvement in everything from smart cities to Aero space, does Billion Dollar deals.

    Evenif not all his, it's clear he has access to monumental sums from somewhere.

    Seriously, even if Xia himself says he knows his net worth accurately, i will LOL.

    This is not like 1000 years ago, when someone's wealth was defined by owning 10 sheeps, 5 chicken and 10 farmers.

    Oh I meant duo-signing and duo-announcement. Don't think that 51% will happen this week, probably next week if we are lucky.

    I am not sure if we need another striker (Rhodes - 51%),particularly if that may cost us another 7M+. My personal view though.

    We'd better get RMc back and play him (if he wants that too ofc.)

    It is just a normal negotiation process.

    1 week to go till the next match - Hourihane has been playing in the last few weeks so his fitness is good. definitely worth spending a few more days around the negotiation table to get the cost down a bit; It is just the contract clauses and fees that need to be confirmed. 

    Highly unlikely the deal could go wrong. 1-2 more days, it will be done. And a duo-signing + announcement.

    If Bree is announced today, I will be worried. - Dont think the OA will happen today for Bree. we will see.

    Note by Deisler - in the article there are a lot of complicated Chinese words (often used to show off the writing skills) which are impossible to translate, so I chose to use English in its simplest form to improve readability. 

    1 December, 2016, Birmingham, United Kingdom. Jiantong Xia sat besides Villa Park (note: in the stadium), watching players on the pitch silently. This has been the home stadium to Aston Villa since 1897, one of the greatest British football clubs. 4 days ago, 27th November, Aston Villa beat Cardiff City, holding the unbeaten record at home this season.

    Villa park, having witnessed a win, still has a chilling breeze, but green grass too (note: you get the idea....). In the stadium, flags of AVFC flying, on which a yellow lion raises his chest. In the UK, lion is the symbol of royal family. In football, the lion flag of AVFC has its own statue – the nickname of the club is ‘The Lions’. It has won totalling 7 leagues titles and 7 FA cups, and reached its highest honour of EUFA Champions Cup in 1982. AVFC used to be the lion of guardian of British football – Princess William and ex-PM Cameron declared publicly that they are AVFC fans.

    Now, AVFC have their new lead of the lion tribe: June 2016, Chinese giant RECON took this club over. In just six months, the lions became familiar with Tony Xia and his leadership (Note: the original sentence sounds a bit too ‘praising’- I softened it a little bit to make it read better).  

    From here onwards, I will only pick RECON-related content to translate:

    Nov 2016, Xia appeared at AFM (Note: American Film ?Makers?), he started to negotiate with two film making companies.

    　　Xia went to the Birmingham Children’s hospital and gave gifts to the kids there. But very few people knew that Xia still suffers from pain in the left leg. A few months ago, he played in the RECON game (Note: internal match). People often called him ‘RECON Messi’, but he injured his left leg and still cannot stand for too long.

He also plans to introduce VR (virtual reality) and AR technologies into Villa Park.

    AVFC to Xia is much more than a football business. It is a ticket to Commonwealth countries, EU and even the global market.

    ‘honestly, taking over Villa brings the benefit to our business, much better than I thought’

    　　‘Apart from Football, RECON’s final aim is to expand into Sports/Film and cultural business, healthcare business etc. In the future, maker of high quality content is rare (Note: this is a bit abstract, but I guess you can understand what it means, a bit like virtual ‘content’ rather than product that physically exists). Football is like film making industry – they are all makers of high quality content’.

    Recently, Xia acquired (almost done) two Hollywood companies, one leading company in Action films, and another one is one of the eight companies during the golden era of Hollywood (Note: didn't mention the name of that company.).　　

    ‘I am planning to integrate film and cultural elements into rebuilding Villa park, so VP is not only the paradise of the football fans, but also the theme park to people other than football fans, but enjoying equally the joys brought by football’

    Deisler note: to summarise, this article talks about his global ambition, and his approach of using sport as a lead to realise it (with India Engineering section and American Film making industry etc). A typical magazine type of article.... kinda boring tbh.

    Strange. I know Tony was featured in the ZheShang Magazine (literally means Zhejiang (a province) Economics Magazine) in Jan issue 2017, but the photo has 2016 year (on the left, can be seen as '二零一六年') on it.
