You can pay a higher fee for "expedited processing". I think its something like £1000 for 48 hours and £5000 for them to come to your workplace for same day service

I am aware of 500-extra-pounds interview service, but it does not guanrentee the visa on that day. Never heard of the £5000 service though.

It makes more sense from club's point of view to get Jedinak a new certificate of sponsorship (which may takes 1 week), than asking him to apply for ILR (which may takes 1-2 weeks after the interview to receive the passport back, or even longer), in order to complete the transfer.

That said, I do prefer the Australian Visa system. At least I don't need to pay for the medicare (NHS) for the permanent residency!

    Deisler,

I know that you were interested in the results - I have summarised the final results below. It is only a small percentage of Villa Talk members, so nothing conclusive can be made from the figures.  However, have you any thoughts?

I guess what was shown from the poll data was pretty much what we expected.

Most wanted a change (from Lerner), most care about the actual match results than who Xia is.

Xia will have a hard time if the team cannot stay in the play-off region by the end of September. His best move is to take as much pressure as he can from RDM and the team, ofc in a proper way.

so your stories from the Internet line can be filed under "epic fail " :D

Which story I shared in my post are you questioning? I am curious. If you are referring to '50 dollars an hour story', I would love to send you the link to my photo on that (happened to me in Canberra) - A few friends of mine also had that experience in Australia/France and US and I can find you some blogs on that (you may not believe but it is up to you really).

tbf the Chinese investment there has clearly improved / is starting to improve  the standard of living .... But like I say you'll have a hard job convincing anyone that China is there for Tibets own good

Why do I need to convince anyone that 'China is there for Tibets own good'? What did I say that made you think that I was attemping to convince anyone on this matter (i.e. everything is perfect in Tibet)?

That argument itself it quite amusing really - First you have to define the 'own good'. Do you mean returning back to Slavery system? Or you mean 'anti-modernization'? Or are you referring to 'the presence of soldiers on just about every roof top and patrols through the town'. Since you said you have been to Tibet before, do you know why there are even presence of soldiers there? You heard of those terriorist attack there some years ago?

As I said, Tibet issue is quite complex and there are good things and bad things from my own experience. I didn't attempt to convince you one side or another (apologies if you thought so).

BTW: this has nothing to do with this thread and let's settle here. I should have not replied to your post at the first place. My bad.

but I don't think you'll win any arguments on the inter web that China are doing Tibet a favour tbh ....even if you have given them a blinding railway link and lots of neon lights for their  buildings :)

Depending on how you look at it, mate. If things are so easy to reach a conclusion, everyone can get a PhD degree in History/Politics from Youtube or so-called University of Inter Web.

I personally have been in Tibet a few times for tourism, for studying, for charity work. I shared my student dorm with 6 people in Uni, 2 of them were from Tibet (one from poor family and one from rich-ish). I have seen (my personally experience, rather than 'stories' from internet :D) something good, something bad. No one can reach a one-sided conclusion on this matter, defo not from biased (either way) online materials.

A few years ago, someone tried to pay me 50 dollars a hour to join their protest team for so-called Tibet freedom (they want Chinese faces in their team you know...). One guy from that group who looked like european (French or Italian I cannot be sure) asked me to raise a flag that has a world map with some markers on it. I asked that guy: do you know where Tibet is? He pointed, somewhere near Uzebekstan first, then Mongolia, then Vietnam. I pity him.

  5. first match of the season, 1 point is good enough. 3 points will be fantastic.

I don't neccesarily expect to see beautiful football. Too many new faces in the XI and we need at least a draw to build the confidence up.

And the best thing about this is (apart from the transfer profit and the fact we don't automatically have ten men when he 'plays') is that if he does somehow regain his Swansea form like some think he could, he will be absolutely no threat to us whatsoever.

You do know that Celtics often play in the champions league right?

  7. I am not going to vote on this, but I would really like to see the outcome.

Even more interested in knowing the answer to the following question:

    1) If you are not happy about Xia's approach (whatever it means to you) now (by 5/8/2016), will you change your mind if:

    A) Xia spent huge net transfer money this window and the winter one

    B. Xia better manages his twitter account.

    C) Aston Villa achieving this season better than what you predicted (no matter what it is, based on what you measured using how club was run before)

    D) Aston Villa play beautiful football (the football you enjoy most, no matter what it is) this season but fail to get promotion

    E) Aston Villa get promotion at the end of this season

    F) No, I like to be skeptical and pessimistic no matter what, I think this is important to have this attitude among the fans.

it is perfectly fine to be any of these. I just would like to gauge, in order to make fans happy, what Xia need to focus on.

    Thanks,

(Sorry VillaBrum, I don't mean to hijack your post - I just don't think it is necessary to post another poll. But feel free to delete my post if you don't think it is appropriate.:))

  8. I don't know much about the youth system in English football, but a 18yo prospect loaned out? Quite risky to me, especially to a lower division, because he may not be physically ready.

I would rather get him prepared in the U19 squad in Villa for another year before going to league games. But maybe I just worried too much....

    Good luck to him.

Sure, but that's not what I was saying... more like Midlands FC playing in red at some new stadium called YingYang ground outside of the city of Brum.

I know what you were trying to say and fully understand what you may 'worry' about.

I suggest you/we discussing something realistic/constructive, than this purely illusional, never-going-to-happen stuff.

If one is paranoid one could perhaps see the Chinese buying all of the major clubs in and around Birmingham, merging them and creating Midlands FC - just saying, stranger things have happened.

Fail to see how much business sense it makes tbh. Indeed it can only happens if someone is paranoid.

If you are super rich - for example a stake controlling company with trillions of pounds money - you would rather buy all companies (say in retail market) and retain their own brands, so they can work in a coorporative way and possibly dominate the whole market for better profit, rather than merging them into a Retail.LTD (illegal too).

In the next 10-20 years, it may well be that a few PL clubs are owned by foreign groups, but merging clubs absolutely won't happen, 100%.
