I watch the games now as much for the crowd reaction as for the football.

Yep me too, if you watched it purely for the football you'd be severely disappointed.

I like to try and predict what's going to happen during the game. You don't often go far wrong with either - "we'll come out positive and pass the ball around well, keeping possession in none threatening areas. Opposition scores just before or after half time then we collapse and concede more".

Or "opposition scores within 5 minutes, we collapse and they score more". Both situations will involve a half hearted "fight-back" towards the end, once it's too late. And invariably there will be at least two monumental defensive errors, maybe even an own goal.

  2. I don't hold any anger towards Delph, the way he left annoyed me at the time but I don't blame him for wanted to move to a successful club on more money with a chance of winning things. We can all create reasons why he would've been better staying at Villa but if we take our claret and blue raybans off then we'd probably do the same.

I'm still slightly puzzled that people are still so mad about this. I do wonder if nobody else in this thread has ever made a mistake or changed their mind about something.

I've never made a mistake or changed my mind!

Oh wait, actually... Yeah I have, sorry, my mistake ;)

I do hope not. We need someone in before the Euros. I did not want him for the England job and do not want him for our job when he fails again with England. Retirement would seem appropriate for Woy rather than a job with us.

I weally wouldn't want Woy wunning us.

I think Adrian Durham makes an accurate assessment of our demise in the Daily Mail.

Yes I read that earlier, at least he understands where our problems began. I'm fed up of hearing people say we're only upset because we're going down and blaming Sherwood and Garde. It runs much deeper than them and all started when MON blew fortunes and then jacked off. Lerner was to blame for allowing MON a ridiculously free reign and all of the idiotic decisions that followed.

    Norwich was the game.

It was a class pass. The gif has been used over n over again in this thread in response to people claiming he doesn't create anything.

It really was, pretty much, a one off.

Cheers pal. It was a right side footed ball through iirc. I'm struggling to think of many more impact moments from him though.

Yeah, just what we need more of, sendings off for violent conduct.

I don't condone the head butt to be fair, it's not professional and not the way to behave. However the tackles were fully committed, something I've not seen from our first teamers in a while.

  8. I don't remember the game, it was years ago and a bit hazy now, but I remember him putting an incisive through ball from midfield to Gabby which resulted in a goal. Like I say my memory is not what it used to be*

That about sums him up for me.

*but I do remember a Kevin Richardson goal against Swindon over 20 years ago. Strange hey.

Was reading through their forum, my god are they obsessed with us.. they do not support SHA, they just hate Villa. I am hoping that it won't happen to our fans after that many years in the championship. sad sad bunch.

Agreed, that was some scary reading! Their busiest thread is one about Villa. Some very articulate points made though like "suck your nan" and "I fink" used fairly often.

They really are a sad, sad bunch.

  10. Certain players I'm wiling to suspend absolute judgement until we get a new manager in that can build his own team. Gestede is one of them, I don't think we should write him off just yet. He might turn into a useful player in the championship, if we play to his strengths and have a settled team of players that actually care.

Field this and we will win the game.

That's about the best we can do I think, I'd be pleased to see that team tomorrow. I also like how Lescott and Richards have been migrated to the outside, if we continued this movement they will be off the pitch soon and might not even notice.
