Have many foreign managers have taken a team from the championship up? Is it something that's happened a lot.
I have no problem with the board going for a bit of a steady appointment after the gamble of Garde failed.
Only three. Di Matteo, Tigana and Jokanovic of Watford last year.

How he can call himself a Villa fan is beyond me, in fact how any of the so-called Villa fans playing for us can say that is unbelievable when you look at their total lack of respect for the club.
I'd rather have blues fans playing for us. They might try harder knowing they need to feed their twelve kids.

We've literally got nothing to lose now so we may as well play Grealish from the start.

I think we all know he's no world beater, the initial hype wore off a long time ago. But, if he knuckles down he could still become a good player for us. I'd keep him for next season, one level down and with (hopefully) a better team around him, he might be able to prove himself.

Game stopped at Charlton because of the volume of tennis balls on the pitch
At least they've got some balls on the pitch, unlike our lot.

It's like the refs think oh well **** Villa, they're down anyway it doesn't matter
-
A lot more taking part than what I thought, maybe half the ground?
Good effort and won't have gone unnoticed.

How bad must Bunn be? Guzan has no future in football come April.
Hopefully one of those soccer ball teams from across the pond will come in for him.

Bacuna and Jack, Bacuna and Jaaaack, ones champions league, the other is cack.

31,000 crowd??! After all the sackings it seems the attendance counter has managed somehow to keep his job.
-
We may as well walk of the pitch now and apply for fast track relegation.
-
Is Westwood even playing? I've tried to look out for him but he's been hard to spot.

Not scored in a while? Looking to impress on your debut? Perhaps your team just needs one win to turn their fortunes around?
Why not play Aston Villa
"The team that keeps on giving!"

I just thought I'd give someone a fleeting moment of joy before they realised.
But you are right, dreadfully worded.
I will try " Goal, goodness me how many different Chelsea players did that awful goalkick rebound off before hitting that patch of mud and rebounding off Gestede butt" ....at least that's believable.
That's more like it
The sad thing is, I probably would have got excited a few years ago - nowadays I'm struggling to get excited even if we do score.

Noticed the villa subs are chewing gum, how long before it starts flying towards the touch line.

Do you think we will score a goal at home again this season?
Hutton, Lescott or Guzan should be good for at least one more OG before May.

Lescott looks worn out already, useless piece of...
oh well, normal service resumed

We're winning nil nil at the moment!

Sanchez tackling well

I fully agree TRO. I sometimes think that Villa fans have been fed up for that long that negativity is the only response known.
Football, like life, is much better with some optimism. Let's hope that these new board members can start to rebuild Villa. They might fail, they might not. But criticising from off won't help.

Thats the first time I've heard him speak, he comes across as a straight forward, honest and likeable chap.
I'd love to see what he says in his team talk.
Good luck today Eric, you're going to need it.

I think a better potential yardstick for Jack has been John Terry's career. When he first broke into the Chelsea team about the same age as Jack, he was a mouthy, horrible word removed of a person. And now he's 30+ and matured he's....... still a mouthy, horrible word removed of a person.
QED
Lol he certainly is that, but he knuckled down on the pitch and forged a successful career. He's not likeable but that doesn't matter if he's putting in performances every week.
Whether Jack is open minded to learning the lessons from other professionals though is doubtful. Merson tried but Jack failed to turn up.

The problem is none of us really know what he does, it's hard to know whether he's done it badly or well but it's easy to lump him in with Fox and Almstad. My guess is only those close to him know whether his contribution has been worthwile, if it wasn't I think he'd have gone by now.
