  1. I'm not very romantically nourished by the prospect of Pearson but I wouldn't be too angry about it. Every manager is a gamble, at least in the pot we're picking from.

There's not many managers out there that can fight off a pack of savage dogs with a stick, so that seems as good as reason as any to go with him. At least he's got recent, relevant experience in this league and might just get us up. All depends on the takeover though really doesn't it.

  2. I'm not watching it but I guess we've been unable to keep the ball and Southampton are passing it about dangerously. Oh and at least one slip, misplaced pass or idiotic piece of defending.

  3. We've got nothing to lose, we'll get beat anyway so why not play some kids. I don't even think it's a brave decision to do so, they wouldn't have relegation on their heads, they've got something to prove and it would make for a much more positive at atmosphere at VP.

Not gonna happen though is it.

Now that the players have 'a weight off their shoulders', they owe us a brilliant performance.

I'm two minds about that; it would p*** me right off if they went out and won, playing well. Why didn't they do it before when it actually mattered?!

Then the other side of the coin, it might give some hope they really are actually footballers and if we're stuck with some of them next year there's a chance they could do ok.

To be honest I think I'd rather we lose, leaving no uncertainty that we need rid.

  5. This is last years Birmingham rich list. Not much choice, look who's number four

    1 Lord Bamford £3.3bn    Manufacturing

2 Lord Paul of Marylebone £2bn    Manufacturing

    3 Jacques Murray £1.0bn    Manufacturing

    4 Randy Lerner £950m   Banking/Football

5 Ranjit and Baljinder Boparan Singh£800m   Food

    6 John Bloor £750m   Manufacturing/Construction

    7 Steve Morgan £650m   Construction/Football

    8 Sir Peter Rigby £550m   IT/Aerospace

Who is the richest man in birmingham?

And does he support Aston Villa ?

Apparently Lord Bamford of JCB and his family are the richest in Birmingham.

No idea who he supports though. I'd guess Wolves looking at his companies brand colours.

  7. Regarding the rich fans; it would be great to have people in charge that love the club but surely being a capable owner is more important? Football'a a cut-throat business that requires someone to really know what they're doing. I don't profess to know all of the ins and out of running a club but it's not going to be easy. For me the most important aspect is their ability, and their bank balance. It's not necessary that they are fans for me. Whether the combination of rich, successful business owner and villa fan exists out there though, I've no idea.

  8. I do recall watching one of the Villa YouTube channel's "players arriving" videos. As the Watford players walked through the corridors past the pictures of our glorious history on the wall, only Flores stopped to have a look at them. In fact he spent a bit of time taking them in.

Ergo he's impressed by our club and will definitely want the job! ;)
