Do you think we will score a goal at home again this season?

Hutton, Lescott or Guzan should be good for at least one more OG before May.

  2. I fully agree TRO. I sometimes think that Villa fans have been fed up for that long that negativity is the only response known.

Football, like life, is much better with some optimism. Let's hope that these new board members can start to rebuild Villa. They might fail, they might not. But criticising from off won't help.

  3. Thats the first time I've heard him speak, he comes across as a straight forward, honest and likeable chap.

I'd love to see what he says in his team talk.

Good luck today Eric, you're going to need it.

I think a better potential yardstick for Jack has been John Terry's career. When he first broke into the Chelsea team about the same age as Jack, he was a mouthy, horrible word removed of a person. And now he's 30+ and matured he's....... still a mouthy, horrible word removed of a person.

    QED

Lol he certainly is that, but he knuckled down on the pitch and forged a successful career. He's not likeable but that doesn't matter if he's putting in performances every week.

Whether Jack is open minded to learning the lessons from other professionals though is doubtful. Merson tried but Jack failed to turn up.

  5. I foolishly had high hopes for Richards when we signed him, mostly based on his earlier career and the notion that he could rebuild his reputation in the premiership with us.

The sooner we get his bad attitude and wage bill out of our club the better. I'd much rather play Baker, at least he tries.

    He spat at Villa fans.

    The End.

He did and he was transferred out, quite rightly. Still gave me some good memories though, not least the coca-cola cup goal against Leeds.

  7. Savo 'misalot-avic' got a bit of stick back then, he was still way above anything we've got right now. He did score some quality goals in his time though and his 'boom, boom, boom' song was class!

  8. I'm not sure TPS is all that effective. In my younger days I was a telesales agent, I had no end of people tell me they were signed up to it. Didn't seem to stop companies from buying and selling their data though.

  9. If we can afford to keep him then I think both Traore and Villa would benefit in the championship. I can see him ripping teams to shreds once his confidence is up and he's playing in a team that cares.

I always likened Gabby's way of playing to Forest Gump.

Who knows he just might like spending his days on the back of a lawnmower?

Bit expensive for a groundskeeper and would not keep him away from Bodymoor, but still...

I can see it now, the grounds man asks him to re-paint the goal line and he somehow manages to miss or get injured on his way over.

Don't wanna diss Brian little too much as in some peoples eye he is the epitome of Mr Villa ( before my time so can't fairly comment on that) but I do have concerns as to his suitability to be choosing our next manager based on the fact that his last 2 jobs were Gainsborough Trinity of the conference North & Jersey's director of football. Are people basing their faith in him on winning a trophy 20 years ago? Genuinely intrigued as to why so many think he will make the right choice

I'd like to think that Brian won't be choosing the next manager but advising the likes of Bernstein as to the 'fit' of said manager to Aston Villa. I know it was 20 years since Little managed us but he has always had an affinity to the club and should have a good grasp of the type of character we need. I expect that between the board they've got plenty of good contacts so they shouldn't be solely relying on Little to make suggestions.

  12. We just need rid of him now, by whatever means possible. He's never gonna improve now, only get worse and drag the rest down with him even more. I'd bring him in, show him the stats, highlight his ineffectiveness, the bad publicity and agree a reduced pay off. The sooner he's gone the better!

  13. sne - I know what you mean, and I don't think the situation can get much worse either. But what if that now Remi's gone the players suddenly start putting more effort it in? Would we still boo them from the off? To be honest I'd be angry if they now all of a sudden start playing as it shows a massive lack of respect for the club now it's too late, I'd want to know why they didn't do it earlier for Remi/Tim.

It's probably not likely to happen but I'm still against roundly booing the team from the off.

Dont get me wrong I think they fully deserve it, I just worry about the consequences for the club and what's left of our reputation.

  14. While I'm thoroughly fed up and angry with our so called senior players this season, I do think booing them and or abusing them all game would just make things worse. The only thing to come out of this season with any credit at all is the fans. Let's not lose that by kicking off at the players.

Im pretty sure they know they've not been good enough, booing every time they touch the ball will just make us look bad. What kind of message does it send out to a potential new manager, owner of players we might try and sign this summer.
