Good article, I think it's funny that both KEA and Vlaar have came out as leaders as such, they both clearly have a great deal of passion for the game and now the club - even more so than a lot of the players at the club already, which to me shows that maybe Lambert's way is the way we need to be doing things after all. KEA or Vlaar for captain 100%!

I reckon we can see Gabby playing out wide, being as we're short on wide players, remember we can still loan players out though, just gonna depend on what kind of system Lambert will mainly play.

Bent and Benteke as our main pairing, with Weimann and Bowery as back-up, seems to make sense letting Fonz out on loan and I reckon that will probably be the last we see of him. We've brought in a good amount of players, whether we agree with them all or not is a different question, but hopefully they'll all put in 100% effort and begin the Lambert revolution that we all wish for. Look forward to seeing the new lads in action next weekend !

We're all skeptical, all worried, all slightly confused a bit, and at the same time we're all Villa fans - we were last season when McLeish was appointed and nearly ruined us, we are now Lambert is trying to remould the squad, and we still will be come 11:01pm tonight. I say we just stop getting stressed, stop thinking whatever we believe or any theories we have will have any impact on what the board and manager are doing, and just back our football club, our manager and our players - both new boys and old. Fingers crossed for a decent finish to the day, I shall pop on later to see reactions and such, we have both Newcastle and Swansea next up which will be two tough games and we're going to need all the support we can get so let us just rally together and stick our fingers up at the doubters. If Lambert really wants him he'll have to meet their valuation, and if he doesn't think he's worth that valuation then he just needs to move onto his next target. Saw on Twitter from one of our 'ITK' sources that Bennett was having his medical about an hour ago, adds up with SSN reporting that he's come to Brum to discuss personal terms. Guess that's one done, time to press on now, although looks like no more defenders which is still a worry with Vlaar being our only senior defender until Dunne returns. Think Lambo may have to apologise to Warnock and Hutton in some capacity as we're going to need them I reckon. Benteke next up?

The reason Twitter is going nuts over the Gouffran link is because SSN are now reporting us as being in talks with Bordeaux over a deal, rather than yesterday when we were simply said to be 'interested in the player'. I agree that it does seem as if Lambert has good knowledge of players, out of all these players we're currently linked to I've only seen Gouffran and Scott Parker play, the others I had no idea who they were - including Lowton, Vlaar and KEA who we already signed. Still think we need more experience at the top level, but if Lambert genuinely wants a revolution of young players then I guess we're going to have to just put our faith in him. If we put in a good bid and offered decent wages, I could see us being able to get Lennon if he really is unwanted at Tottenham. A marquee signing as such, probably won't happen I know, and it baffles me if he really isn't wanted at Spurs since he did a really good job for them last season IIRC. Other clubs that would be in for him such as Sunderland have already spent a fortune this window, Everton are apparently low on funds, and I could only see Swansea going in for him if the Sinclair move to City goes through.

Update on Downing coming back to us: There are two kids fighting outside, no older than 8 years old, but one of them is wearing a Villa top which has Downing on the back. It's either his last name or he's definitely ITK.

What's more shocking is the fact if you switch Vlaar for Stevens, it's pretty much the best back 4 we have. :cry:

He's came out and played down the player he represents, I doubt it's reverse psychology to try and make Genk think they don't need him.

Judging from what his agent is saying I think his one is a no go, for this window anyway. We've only offered £5.5m, an offer I can't see us vastly improving, and if Genk rate him highly I doubt they want to sell anyway (most clubs actually try to keep their best players) - something shown from lining him up to play on Thursday. Looking like its the kid from Charlton and then business is concluded. Happy days.

Now Barton may well be a trouble-making tosser, but judging from his Twitter he seems down in the dumps and just wants to play football, which he can undoubtedly do when he's not being a **** clearing in the woods. I wouldn't be against bringing him in on a paid on appearance contract, or even a year long contract with clauses. If he get's sent off, the club can rip up his contract if they deem necessary.
