  1. Good move for every one involved, he gets game time, in a period of games in which he wouldnt have featured (for us), IMO.

Villa then get back a player whos got some proper games under his belt.

Coventry get to see one of our bright 'Prospects'. In fact im happy its in Coventry, not far for him to travel and we can get match reports rather easily.

  2. When ur about to be head butted, urge is to lean back, always lean forward. TBH if anyone gets that close to you then ur doing something wrong.

On punch or head butt?..........Elbow every time, connect with that and u will knock em out in one.

Ps I dont fight, i run unless cornered.

  3. I'd rather be a football club trying to "live within its means" than become yet another a Franchise FC... or an oil barron's chew toy. I think there is some pride in that myself.

    Yes. Agreed very much.

It makes me wonder what Ramsay, Rinder and McGrgeor would have thought about this ... but I'll be accused of living in the past!

The example set by by the likes of Chelsea and Man C is what is helping to make a mockery of football and at some point it will all implode if this kind of materialistic nonsence were to continue.

Soemone with some money who has an affinity with at least the Midlands is what is required. If you have to have a big money organisation, why not Tata (Jaguar Cars) - at least they have a local interest.

Cant see TATA pumping anymore money than Mr Lerner, their business men and quite ruthless ones at that. I also agree with SilverPeacock, it aint gonna last this richest man wins model, it will kill the game.

  4. Saw James in Liverpool on Friday night

t'was James with a difference in that instead of it being a drink 10 pints and jumping about concert , it was a more sedate gig from them in that they played with a full orchestra and choir

Wasn't sure how it was going to work but as we had VIP tickets we were allowed into the sound check before hand and it took about 3 seconds to realise that we were due to see something a bit special later that night

We were front row so a bit too close to the speaker which made it a tad bassy for the first song whilst they sorted it out but once that was resolved it was almost flawless.

Tim Booth has one of the best voices in music (imo) and the new arrangements really suited his voice , possibly if you weren't already a fan it wouldn't convert you .but it was without doubt the best concert I've ever been to

the new arrangements just worked so well , the songs sounded better than ever , everyone on stage was having fun and you get to appreciate the wall of sound that an orchestra can make to complement rock /pop songs

and we still got to jump up and down a bit as well

I had a free ticket to see them in Istanbul but I turned it down due to the fact I had a 7 hour teaching day the next day.

Feedback from those who went pretty much echo yours and I'm a tad annoyed I didn't go.

Same here, saw them twice, last time at Symphony hall, amazing band. If it wasnt for Tim's illness they would have been a huge band. Their last 3 albums are like a breath of fresh air.

  5. He could get on as a sub against Spurs, whats the odds on him scoring...........

TBh we need to calm down, we have a few youngsters coming threw who all need game time and hes just one of them. Reckon the agents will be twitching to get him on their books after that performance and thats where he needs to keep his head together.

  6. Amazing, anyone worked in a abattoir? I know people who have on the maintenance and the cows are stunned, then have their necks broke by a blunt type wack, when it breaks down, about once an hour, the cow is left suffering while the machines fixed/ maintenance get there, its then bolted through the head. Itd done by machines, automated, computer operated, CHEAP!..........

We could always stroke the animal, while sneaking up from behind and shooting it, perhaps some candles and soft music as well, you know to make it a less painful way to die.........

The very fact animals are killed in a certain way (halal or kosher) suggests they care more about the whole process than the average burger eating person who aint got a clue how the meat was sourced, killed.......

  7. Think Gabby playing with Bent has improved his game, he has never really been around such a prolific goal scorer. Reckon he must gain confidence from watching Bent in training and realising that he has everthing Bent has and possible a bit more.

  8. Needs to be played (which looks unlikely) or loaned out to attract interest and gain some form, even if we pay 90% of his wages. West Ham or a team like that, high profile. Not to sure who he played with at City (when he was ok) or who, may be worth looking at why he was good and what or who changed.

Its either that or the lad has issues that are not being disclosed or aren't yet known, ie gambling, drugs or perhaps both....all IMHO

  9. Investment bankers and foreign exchange dealers, futures........they make money by moving money from one commodity to another, they can make millions in 10 minutes, its not their money they use, its risk free (the government bails out it time of real need). The most important thing is where is any value added? nothing is produced, just profit for profits sake. It upsets (IMO) the whole foundation of capitalism.

London weighting......market forces should increase wages, they should not be artificially maintained. If its to expensive for people to live in London then business should move out to cheaper area's. All imho.

  10. In capitalism there's no such thing as being too big to fail, if you **** up then that's it, you're done. It's that risk that lets the system grow and evolve. When the risk isn't there the market stagnates and innovation disappears and exploitation appears in its place.

This, bang on the button, cartels flourish. The more i read about our system the more it seems to be wrong.

"The coporation of the city of London", 9000 residents and an MP.....how does that work? Their own police force, 3 private schools.......

London weighting, another artificial method to support a system thats not working, ie if you cant afford to work in London then either raise your prices or don't work there.

The power companies have a monopoly. We have to pay for our water that drops from the skys ffs.

Big business has the biggest lobby of any of our sectors of society. The unions represent most of the countries working population and any lobbying power they have is frowned upon by the press........big business.

The public sector are now being criticised for fighting to keep what they have had for years, they are not changing the playing field, the government are, yet the unions get the stick, why?
