  1. Yep, at least 5 of those 15 games are non starters in terms of point return

    ManUre away

    Ci£y home

    Chelsea home

    Everton away

    Arsenal away

That leaves 10 games where we may get something but even some of those look tricky - stoke away, Liverpool home

We will pick up points during these games though, no pressure on the team to get anything makes a difference, as shown against Liverpool. That's not to say were going to win them all but a win and a draw would make a difference.

  2. Think we all get your point, why don't you just leave it at that and get on with a normal healthy life? Not much value in trying to change opinions, especially over a public forum.

Lambert's made mistakes, everyone does. Some of his players may turn out to be crap. We need Vlar or Dunne back to steady the ship, let the team build some confidence and show, over a full season what they are all about.

If we escape relegation it will feel, to me, as good as winning the league. That's what footballs all about UTV

  3. We need a director of football or a managing director of the Daniel Levy type. They would not have allowed the signing of Ireland, we had no manager at the time and he would not have allowed AM to sign N'Zogbia. We already knew he was was a problem with him and the blues situation, anyone with an ounce of football knowledge would have known the issues surrounding these type of toxic players.

Managers come and go, a Managing director stays and overseas the financial side of the football business.

  4. They were all shit, having no midfield didn't help him at all, he looked shell shocked. The amount of pressure on these players is immense, good players can turn into bad ones and bad players, with strong nerves, can be look good.

Booing him, or any other player for that matter does no one any good.

As for a concert being the same as a football match...... you don't support a band, you don't watch them every week and you don't have a vested interest in their success.

  5. I think the Dale Stephens transfer (and any other of our transfer targets) being dragged out is down to our apparent desperation to get players in. The selling teams would be mad not to try and play the situation to their advantage. We must have agreed a fee in the summer, its my bet this fee has changed........

  6. We need 4 players, two central midfielders and two central defenders, I reckon 2 with top level experience and two with potential. I do not expect any Brazilian or any other flair player, exactly the sort of player we do not need.

  7. He needs a chance, a season with our support and Lerner's. The reason we are this mess is down to the poor overseeing of previous incompetent managers (PF) who have systematically brought toxic players. When their mess is sorted we can build again, until then its going to be long hard road.

People are still singing his name and that shows how much we have all learnt over the last few managers, we are no longer fickle. UTV

  8. Lescott on loan ain't gonna happen, hes at the end of hes career, were building for the future with a young team, sink or swim that's the way its gonna happen at the villa. As for Lerner...he don't get involved with the month to month let alone the day to day. He gives us money when PF asks, upto a limit.

  9. Vlaars better than Collins or Carlos and Benteke is a great buy at £7m. Can't see were Lamberts gone wrong tbh, Westwood, lowton are better than we had at the club and Bennet, the jurys out.

We need a combative midfielder and a central defender to make up for the injuries we have picked up. On the subject of injuries, i think its a credit to Lambert that he hasn't given this as an excuse, its a major reason why we have started to flood goals in, Vlaar then Baker are both key players for us, when they get back we will be a much harder team to score against.

Could you imagine the fuss candle face would make if QPR had our injury list?

  10. We all need to get behind the team from the off today, its great singing for the last 10 minutes of a 4 nil defeat, it would help more if it was for the first ten today, maybe the whole ground will join in and drag our injury ravished team of young players across the finishing line. UTV

  11. Baker going off made a big difference, until then the limitations of our midfield were being compensated for by our defense. Upfront Benteke was isolated, Holman ran around but was ineffective.

Delph and KEA are well out of their depth, gave the ball away far to often and as other have noted, no movement from them when were on the ball and seem to dive in when tackling. Felt sorry for Westwood, he at least tried to play it around a bit.

  12. A young team will have its ups and downs and Lambert also has a knack of going for it with a do or die attitude, as Norwich fans told us. 3 points over the last two games is better than the 2 AM would have played for.

As for cups not being important to a team?

And we are not improving as a team from last season?

bollox, even my 8 year old son can see the improvements, on the pitch and in the new found believe in the ground. UTV.......and happy Xmas
