  1. He really is so consistent and while I like Sanchez it's quite an important role to be consistent in. I don't think he is doing much different to the rest of his time here, it's more how the rest of the team is playing now which helps him look better.

  2. We were frustrating under Houllier, but that's because we were so open. The games were entertaining.

I always felt we were brewing to hammer some one under Houllier and build from there. It didn't happen though apart from the end of the season and Houllier wasn't even in charge.

  3. This needs putting to bed ASAP.

I guess Tim will probably be asked his thoughts at todays Pre-game PC and his reaction/body language could be an insight into how serious a deal it really is.

    1, Laughing/Joking  Tim = No Deal

    2, Serious/No Banter Tim = A Likely Deal

    3, Dismissive/Pensive Tim = Done Deal

And yes all of the above is serious well thought and planned out, accurate ITK Information!   ;)

Erm hasn't the press conference already happened? :)
  4. I'm really surprised anyone is happy for Lerner to continue.

Our points totals the last five years have been absolutely awful and we've allowed plenty of clubs to catch us and over take us during his time at the club. Why would anyone want that to continue? Because we've had a nice month thanks to Sherwood?

I want nothing more to do with him. This has easily been the longest shit period of my time as a villa fan, I hope it will end soon.

In reality what has happened had to be done. In hindsight It has all been as a result of the overspending at the start and the structure running the club not being right. Yes you can say there has been some bad decisions made since then and the size/speed of the cost reduction has meant playing a risky game with relegation but providing we have come through, then it has been the right decision and the alternative could be far worse.

I want someone else to come in and take us forward but until then It does appear that things are starting to be done right. So if it has been matter of getting finances in order and going from there rather than the Mike Ashley approach of just about running a profit with no ambition then i'm OK with it. Though at the same time I don't want Lerner to use us being 'up for sale' like Kenwright does at Everton in a way to lower fans expectations a little.

  5. You need to be a Club Wembley member

People on here have managed to buy them

I don't think any of those are officially through club wembley though. Either they've known someone or the tickets have been via unofficial agencies.

I did hear that the Final was one event that there isn't a club wembley members resale, but have no idea whether that is true or not.

  6. Played for Forest and Brighton, and he was 22 at the start of the season so don't see how he can play for us.

He has to be U21 on the 1st January of the year the season starts. He was 21, it's whether it is strictly U21 or includes 21

  7. Is that right? He can play a part in the remaining games?

I haven't seen the squad list.

I asked s few posts earlier.

With regards to the squad as he was 21 on 1/1/14, if this classes as U21 he should be fine as an extra player for the squad as a homegrown player for premier league.

Pretty sure he's not cup tied for FA cup but he has played for 2 sides this season so not sure if that makes him ineligible to play for us at all this season?

  8. Only his distribution is in question - and that's an easy fix: When it's passed back, hoof it.

I'm a Guzan fan and think a lot of the negative comments on his ability are way over the top. Though when it comes to distribution, is it really an easy fix?

I'd imagine and hope being a professional, he is working on trying to improve every day but it's just not showing. Whether it's bad short balls or long balls going out of play it has happened an awful lot this season.

  9. I wonder if anyone put money on Sanchez and Cleverley scoring today!

I had a fiver on him scoring, won me £45. I had a feeling it would be either him or grealish

I fancied Cleverley to score and had him to at any time but went a bit greedy and combined it with a Villa win.

  10. Good omen: We've won the toss and are the home team again and will play in our home strip.

Unbelievably we have been the home side in every single round and of course won everytime without the need for a replay or extra time. Its our time, finally. Hopefully anyway

  11. I have been teased with a slight chance of a ticket today. Not sure how likely it means it is but my mate has just told me he got my name down on the list for tickets from his local football club.

He will have earned many free drinks if this comes off.

  12. I can sort of relax knowing i'm not going to get a ticket through Villa. I wasn't sure if I was going to get one for the semi let alone the final.

I will still be asking/sucking up to anyone I think that might be able to help though.

  13. Yeah I dont do the washing at all, when I was 15 my nan ironed the front of my ramones t-shirt, I have done all of my own ironing since.

My mom washed my limited edition Paul Weller Fred perry polo shirt (I think there were 80 in each size, it was numbered inside the collar) at something like 60 degrees and shrunk it down to a toddlers tshirt after I'd worn it once :(

Done all my own washing since then, ironing I do as and when I need something which annoys the **** out of my missus

Due to the few posts before I read this as 'Paul Walker Fred Perry shirt'.
I actually read the earlier post as Paul Weller, the follow up post about someone dying in a car crash makes more sense now
  14. He probably is mates with Gary Gardner seeing as both of them grew up only a few miles apart (Sheldon & Chelmsley Wood) and Deeney probably knows Craig from when they were both youth players at Villa.

Think I read that Deeney could hardly class himself as being at Villa as a youngster. He was invited to 5 training sessions & turned up to one. Can't remember where I read it and it may have just been him saving face a bit with blues fans. My brother went to one training session with Villa when he was younger, I'm not sure that can class as he was a Villa youth player.

  15. Possibly not one of my wisest decisions but I've got a first date on Monday as we both had the day off. I'm going to be massively hung over.

I'm yet to decide what we are going to do, I think it needs to be active and I'll no doubt need more alcohol if I can get away with it.
