  1. It is only a game and we’re all grown men but it can get a bit much sometimes. I just block myself from this site for a few days when I find it’s getting to me. I know that’s sad but it’s easy to get drawn in to arguments when we have a poor performance. Fans lose perspective. It soon passes.
  2. It would be great to have 5th place more or less confirmed as a champions league place whilst we get to the semi final of the Conference. Imagine having already qualified and 3 games away from a European trophy. Emery needs a statue for the fact we are even having this conversation.
  3. I’ve thought for a while we will finish 5th but make champions league still. It’s looking even more likely now though with Spurs having no other distractions.
  4. @TRO your question to me got deleted as was off topic. I think Villa’s problem is we can lose one or two key players and go from a top 4 team to a mid table team. We haven’t got the same level of quality on the bench as a team like United who have spent a billion in recent years and have the highest wage bill in the league. This is why I think we lost the first game. Too many key players out. Second game we lost because we didn’t take our chances. If Unai was in charge of this United squad he’d be challenging for the title.
  5. Plus he only only did that because of how many key players we had missing anyway. Had we have had a stronger squad he may have gone for the strongest 11. Its shit for those that travelled but Emery has to look at the bigger picture rather than individual games.
  6. Don’t forget mate. WE GOT JOHN McGINN!! He’s going to be unplayable.
  7. When I see teams like United it makes me even more grateful for Emery. After nearly 2 seasons in charge I still couldn’t tell you how United play. With the ball It seems to be give it to Garnacho quickly and let him run at defenders. Without the ball there doesn’t seem to be a midfield at times. 2,3 passes and teams get through and then it’s all last ditch. it makes you wonder what these teams work on in training day in day out to still not have an identity and style after 2 years.
  8. You think so? I thought Chelsea were the better team but a draw was probably a fair result too, Also they were both blatant penalties. I would say United are having it bad with injuries but regardless to lose a game you are winning with a minute of football left to play is criminal for any team. Never mind one of the most highly paid ones in the league. Ten Hag is stealing a leaving,
  9. I had a bet on Chelsea to win and then put another on a draw in play. When they scored the penalty I quickly cashed out the draw in case United ended up going up the other end and scoring! I must have managed it just in time.
  10. Fair but this United team is probably the worst I can ever remember and this Villa team one of the best. It would be an extraordinary turnaround.
  11. This is true. Not sure fans that are a bit cautious should keep getting mocked. Those that write us off and have no faith deserve a bit of ribbing though. UTV
  12. Did anyone genuinely think United would catch us if they won today? Or is everyone just responding to @CVByrne
  13. Mate I’m not given them anything. I think they are shit. They probably will beat Sheffield United though although I wouldn’t bet on it.
  14. Near the end I thought United closing gap to 5 points is not ideal but even then I was still confident we would finish above them. Theres no chance this United team can go on title winning form and there’s nothing to suggest we would collapse either.
  15. He might make an appearance if we lose on Saturday and some how United win on Sunday. Otherwise might need to wait for English teams to lose in Europe.
  16. Come on mate, we both know it’s not the same I think if you wanted a striker comparison it would be one that scores a hatrick when you win 5, 6 nil but doesn’t score many winners or crucial goals. Olsen played well so fair play to him. There’s no bias at all. Do I pray Emi is back for Brentford? You’re damn right I do !
  17. Agree Emi saves that free kick all day long and in a tight game where we win by the odd goal that could make all the difference. Not a criticism of Olsen as the wall should have done its job but just more an indication of how important Emi is too us.
  18. Pretty certain we lose that regardless of what team was fielded from the players we had available. City are just on another level. Most important thing is to have enough of a squad available for the 5 games in 2 weeks coming up.
  19. Impressed by how confident he looks already.
  20. Fair play to him but I think when you play such a top team just by default you will end up making a hell of a lot of saves and still concede a lot. It’s in the tight games where you might need to make just one or two match winning save when the top keepers come in to their own. Good on him though, will help his confidence.
  21. I always thought United were shit but even I had forgotten how shit. So fortunate to get anything from that game.
