I'm gutted to hear that one of our finest left - backs, Gibbo, has been diagnosed with dementia. He was such a classy left - back with a hell of a shot on him. I remember him doing a fine job marking Johan Cruyff in the UEFA Cup against Barcelona. I just hope he gets the care he deserves.

I know. I was going to start from season 3, where I left off. I was also a tad disappointed about the last episode comment .

It was really sad to hear about the passing of Dennis Waterman. I remember as a kid in the seventies catching glimpses of The Sweeney on our black and white TV. John Thaw as CI Regan and Waterman as SG Carter. When the cops swore and beat you up, and all the bank robbers wore stockings over their faces. Great days indeed.

Mings hasn't been good at all. He can't head a ball more than 5yds. As for his distribution, absolute wack. We need centre - halves who don't panic when the ball is at their feet.

Give credit where it's due. They certainly did have a barren run in terms of the league title, but they have always had a stature about them ever since Shankley developed the boot - room era. You don't win that many European trophies without having something special. Real Madrid have it too. The kind of stature that instills belief as an obligation. Hence, two goals in the last minute and one more in extra time for the coup de grace, and as stunning as that was, it really wasn't that surprising, because it's Real Madrid. There is nothing lucky about that kind of continuous success.

I'm now on the third episode of Under The Banner Of Heaven and it's everything I thought he was going to be. Andrew Garfield is excellent as the devout, Mormon detective trying to solve the slaughter of a mother and her young daughter.
