But ww would be attracting any top player in the world after that … neymar and coutinho 😳 that would put us in the driving seat to propel

He could be our Robinho! I’m not sure if it’s connected to the Neymar vibes but isn’t he a bit rapey as well?

  2. Regardless of who we’re in for, I’m confident we’re shopping in a market a level above. Whether we get choice A or not is not so much a worry when we’re talking about CL level players. I can only see improvement next season.

This all over, the level of skill these players have is unbelievable to most of us. It's easy to do it with no pressure, add pressure to the mix and fantastic players can become passengers to scared to play.

Douglas was always going to see out his contract, its going to happen more and more with high level players,  especially the younger ones.

Completely agree. @TRO talks a lot about the importance of mentality and it’s right. Self belief and confidence in your ability when on the big stage play a massive part in a players’ development.

I used work with a guy and his friend was in football terms completely average played SPL think League 1/2 maybe Championship for a few games but fans of the clubs he played would say he was an average clogger picked up more cards than assists

When this guy turned up to 5 a side with the mates he was like Messi/Ronaldo level compared to other guys

I play 7 a side every week with a guy who played for West Brom until he was 18, he’s 27 now and a security guard. It’s like playing against DeBruyne.

He has been a really top player and he does still pull out the stops for Wales, if they do qualify at the weekend, he will need to be match fit for the World Cup and we are handy for The Belfry, I could see him being attracted to us, but is he the right side of 29?:)

He's 32, may as well be 82. Legs are shot, can’t run, no motivation etc Stick him back in the home.

Ings would comfortably bring in at least £20m, he hasn't been a failure with us, has decent goals and assists record in relation to the minutes he's had on the pitch, hasn't even turned 30 yet so similar age to Wilson when Newcastle paid £20m plus for him, he guarantees goals so that in itself will be worth the money for half of the league, for £12m you couldn't even get a half decent Championship strike,r so no way we would let Ings go that cheaply, his value hasn't halfed in one season.

12 million isn’t that far a stretch when you consider that whoever would be signing him would be taking on his massive wages.

That was probably the best thing that happened to us, as wouldn’t have these owners and be a yo yo club with Bruce still here 😭

Said the same a year later, blessing in disguise.

Took us until 2019 to sign the first Brazilian in the entire history of our club...  Now we're signing more and more every season!  UTV!!!

I want the full Brazil national team lining up for us by 2024 or I’m out.

  9. I stood with my arm around my dad when we were at Wembley, he was crying as we’d just lost 1-0 to Fulham. That was not long ago at all, what a turnaround for our club. Exciting times.

Honestly don't see the fuss with this guy. Workmanlike, limited, spoiler.

If we’re going to pursue Bissouma if we can’t get Phillips, then I wish him well at City.

A day will come when Southgate stands up and pulls off a mask to reveal he’s actually Big Steve Bruce after all!

The most Southgate thing he could do would be to pull off a mask to reveal he’s Gareth Southgate.

So I think there are two dimensions here. There is the reality (IMO) one: McGinn is going to be in the first 11 next year for most games. It's just a description (based on a bit of speculation).

Then there is the 2nd dimension, a prescriptive one: *should* McGinn be in the first 11. I was only making a point about the 1st dimension. I'm happy to bet!

But if you want to know my view on the 2nd (I'm sure you all can't wait!): I am always a little surprised at how much stick McGinn gets on here. He has a well-rounded game.

I’m a fan of McGinns, always have been. He’s pissed me off at times but I think he’s a good player who needs rotation. He eventually starts looking knackered in games.

Not meant to single you out because I have seen versions of this across several threads, but in what world will John McGinn not be starting week in and week out?

I think Kamara coming means McGinn and Ramsey will competing for/rotating a place in the side.
