Maybe, I'm not asking for total football, just basic football. First touch, keep the ball, movement off the ball to give the player on it a chance, being compact, press together, the sort of stuff the u16s will be getting drummed into them.

isolated individuals might make something happen to get us 3 points but there's no guarantees...

I remember when Gerrard first came in we were playing lots of one-two’s and moving the ball quickly. God knows what happened, but we looked a lot like Southgate was managing us last week.

There is enough individual talent in this squad to be able to win against Everton even if it doesn't click. Just gotta make sure that the right players have the ball at their feet in the right areas.

Long term thou we gotta figure out a way to look like a team that works as a team.

Everybody has said it, but we’re just too easy to run through in the middle of the pitch. Kamara will help but he can’t be as isolated as he was last week.

£20m for a youth player that has barely played 300 minutes of Premier League football for us is an absolutely incredible piece of business.

Let's hope we re-invest this in Sangare as soon as possible.

    Fixed 😉

Good luck to him getting PL minutes at Chelski  - foolish boy.

He’ll be on loan at Sheffield Wednesday in about 5 years, wondering where it all went wrong. Chelsea love loaning out the youngsters.

    Just lowering expectations.

I agree we have way way too much for Bournemouth - even if we ourselves aren't the real deal yet.

    Easy villa win.

Same here, I can’t see past an easy win. It just sounds like Parker has set them up to fail here.

Yeah i was going to comment on that. I would be very worried if our manager was speaking like this. Its like he has no faith in them and expects them to go down.  Very demoralising if i was a Bournemouth player

It sounds like he knows the squad isn’t good enough, and he’s just getting his excuses in early. They’ll be this seasons Norwich.

He's such a nice man, to be fair.

I’ve met him only once and he was a complete arsehole. But he’d had a few. Also, it wouldn’t be fair to judge him just off of that one instance. He seems like he cares and he certainly puts the effort in.

Can we sign a No 8 by next week please then maybe a striker nearer deadline week, i would like to try settle up quick, we’ve only replaced two players CB and DM from a side that finished 14th so at least three positions are absolute needed to be changed 3 or 4 but ill stick with the three spots.

I think we’re sticking with we’ve got striker wise. I’d like another CM, that’s all we need to have a good crack at top 8 imo.

if Bailey, Buendia & Couts dont start together, gerrard needs to be taken out back and shot,

Agreed. Could we go 4-3-3 with Ramsey and Coutinho as two 8’s and Kamara behind? The idea of Buendia and Bailey as wide forwards is boner worthy.

I feel like our work is done. We filled the gaps in the squad. Now it's about looking a possible replacements if any players move on.

I think another will come in if it’s worthwhile and we can move some on, but if not I don’t think we’ll be signing anybody for the sake of it. We’ve got enough numbers.

It's been an incredible source of information if you follow the right journalists (specifically re: the Russian invasion) but there are some terrible people, bots and trolls on there.

I agree, and I definitely get the utility of Twitter. I just think it’s a net negative, so much unnecessary stress comes with Twitter.

Sorry mate - I've been on the political side of twitter too much lately and it's difficult to identify tone sometimes. 🤦‍♂️

You need to get off Twitter man, it’s bad for your health.

To be fair to Bailey i think the only time he was fully fit was up till he scored the left foot screamer vs Everton.. and when i say fully fit i mean mentally fit to let go and stretch his legs.

Looked a shadow of himself when he played at the end of last season, but a fully fit Bailey is dangerous. I still seriously rate him.

Agree completely, at some point as we slide down the list of players we like we have to put the brake on and question the worth of it

But it's now starting to feel like we've taken that approach with central midfield for the last 3 summers!

In which case, let’s be happy we’ve at least sorted the infamous DM issue. Let’s try for another 8 in January, no use wasting money.
