Fraser looks like he is set for Newcastle on a free. I know people are put off but his attitude towards the end of last season but he is better than what we have and would have been gettable. I can understand him not wanting to play and jeopardise a future, similar to the likes if Watkins not playing in a friendly. More gutting is that fact that Newcastle of all clubs are more active than us this window!

He is their cup keeper and this is a cup. They are only playing today because he played and won the FA Cup final. I think it would be harsh to drop him and not surprised he gets the nod.

Listening to a podcast earlier and they referred to a player from Europe who had signed for a Championship club a few weeks ago but wasn't announced. He got special dispensation for the medical/contracts but had to quarantine for two weeks to do all the photos and promo stuff before being announced. Not saying that's the case here, but possibly an insight to overseas signings in the current climate.

He's just signed a new 5 year deal at something like £150k a week, he also wants to challenge for the number 1 spot. If United are offloading a keeper it would be Romero, but to answer your question, no take the cash and use it best we can on some replacements. My preference of course would be to retain him obviously.

I'm more than happy with links to Cash and Henry if that means the majority of our budget is spent on high quality additions in the attacking third. Would really like to see us make a huge push for Tammy (unlikely) or Odouard (possible but will have competition) as well as some quality wingers. Rashica would seem to give us the pace we need, if that happens, and I'm still really keen on Emi Buendia, very surprised no one has moved for him yet. I am less convinced about the links to Watkins and Swift but Watkins has just won Championship player of the season and Swift woukd be cheap.

Would prefer a loan than pay the £20m mooted in the article. He has played only 50 odd games!

Haller and Jovic were great together both have struggled elsewhere. West Ham maybe should look at bring Jovic in instead of Haller out. Less competition for Odouard that way.

We won't be the only club in for him, Celtic will want a bidding war. Can see this one dragging on and on.

That's the life of a footballer though and is rewarded handsomely, at least at the top levels. If it isn't going to affect other deals, I don't mind it dragging on it's not as if we have signed anyone yet anyway. If we are holding off signing Benrahma because we are putting all our eggs in Rashica's basket that could be problematic.

Tifo Football (who put put some excellent stuff, although very stat heavy) have picked him out a sensible transfer for Newcastle. I really want the lad and hope we are genuinely interested can pull it off.

I'm going to be overly optimistic and read that as his agent suggesting he would be open to a move to us! Translation: "AVFC now is the time to put in a bid!"

All were young players around the age of 20 when in the Championship. For comparison John Swift is 25, Watkins turns 25 in December. Not writing them off because of that but can see why people have concerns.
