Baffled, last week bowens shot is going out, hits torres goes completely the other direction and its his goal ?

Diaby shot get hit over the line by a defender when it's going in and its an OG ?  

Konsa stupidly heads it in the net, and emi gets a finger tip to it and it's emi OG ?

Totally dominant but yet again, slow ponderous play puts us in trouble and a stupid OG out of nothing puts us under a bit of unnecessary pressure, then more stupid slow play at the back nearly costs us another.

Donk and traore didn't do themselves much good in the 6 minutes they were on, both pretty terrible showing.

Not one of konsas better games, far far too slow the majority of the game and far too casual when he went to right back.

Should have had a clean sheet today and that's 100% on him. OK the goal didn't change the result and he's been very good this season but ffs we aren't that good we can play at 1mph all game.

Luckily, even with watkins zaniolo, diaby 1st half and konsa below par, we still had enough to cruise 85 minutes of the match.

Should have been 5 or 6 nil but 3 more points will do.

We slowed the game right down after q5 minutes, to the point half our players were walking or plodding around. Against a wall of 11 players, we need to use more urgency, especially from konsa who seems to want to get a Luton player to come to him before the inevitable pass to luiz or torres.

Play the ball 2 or 3 seconds faster and they haven't reverted back to a back 11. Digne has been unmarked with half the pitch multiple times and ignored. Play it to him quicker and it draws 2 or 3 players to him, that's the opening we need .

We do need another 2 or 3 goals in order to see this one out as they will push on with 25 to go. 

Zaniolo needs another 15 and then a swap for Bailey if nothing has changed. It's not happening for him this game, nor diaby. Also yjought watkins could have thrown himself at the cross the face of the goal chance but at least we have scored which gives us something.

This one could be harder for us than we hoped.

Uni is going to have to focus the players for a bit of a battle.

Full strength team for this one, the only players who stand a chance of coming in are Bailey and teilemens after yesterday, however I would be reluctant to use either from the start, not because they don't deserve it, because the first team have got an understanding and I wouldn't want that disrupted.

While zaniolo hasn't hit the ground running, he provides a more physical threat than Bailey and diaby will be the skillful one from the start.

Wouldn't want any of luiz kamara or mcginn not starting which means teilemens has to be on the bench.

We have a solid team and we have game changing subs. If we can score first in the first half, we will be hard to beat and could hopefully grab a few more but any win will do me

Probably the best cup game performance so far.

Baileys best game for us

Some good performances all round, nice to see watkins despite not being involved much, take a poachers goal.

Teilemens scored a good goal and when he was further forwards he was good, put in some good blocks when Dougie went off but we then couldn't hold onto the ball and had another 10 min spell of misplacing every 3rd pass. That's 2 games in a row where it all goes a bit tits up after the other team score.

Carlos didn't help matters but he's hardly played but he was guilty a good few times of giving the ball away.

Will take another 4 -1 with the shakey spell every game though

Great win, you knew either bowen or jwp would score ( still not sure how it was given as a bowen goal) and then for a good 10 mins or so we gave the ball away possibly 8 or 10 times needlessly and it looked a bit like villa under the bin dipping Arab league manager. One pretty lucky break away with mcginn and ollie combining and we got our rhythm back.

Good to see Bailey get a goal, a good one at that and was really hoping for 1 more just to top it off but that's just because I love the way we can play and want it rewarded even more.

Mcginn was quiet in this game but everyone else stepped it up and made up for it.

Apart from maybe 20 mins at a push, we dominated the game, I'm sure uni will be annoyed at that 20 minutes and emi will be frustrated at no clean sheet, this is what winners are like, can always improve and will do everything they can to improve.

Appreciate keeping the ball to close the half but when there's 30 seconds to go and we are on the attack, why slow it down and check back ? Lose nothing having a shot or cross in and a chance to go 2 up at the break.

We've looked decent from what I've seen so far, had to miss some as wife who said no to me cooking the roast for 4pm and said she was doing it for 5.30pm cooked it at 4.30 ffs.

We need at least 2 more against them due to bowen and jwp threats.

Weirdly, he looked hungry and good in pre season, obviously at a slower pace. 

 It visually just looks like he put the effort in on arrival, didn't make the 1st 11 and then took his foot off the effort pedal.

Clearly that won't be the case and maybe expectations were too high, hasn't yet fit into our system, hasn't had enough game time or a number of other reasons, but he has been very poor every time he's come on since the season started and needs to push that effort pedal down and keep it down.

1st half was terrible in midfield

The amount of poor play from him still just shows he is either so unmatch and football fit that he needs one on one coaching or there's something wrong with him. Bar 1 shot he was terrible yet again. Not as bad as donker was but not much better.

No movement no running and poor decision making 8 out of 10 times tonight.

It wasn't just the terrible 2 in the first half, there was little movement anywhere and when players did make the runs they were hardly given the ball.

2nd half was improved and we eventually managed to seek a goal.

They played well from a defensive point of view, the keeper made 2 or 3 decent saves the majority were right at him or soft shots.

Zaniolo, he needs to stay focused, you can see he is desperate to score and a great overhead kick saved but he seems to be trying too hard. Ran himself into the ground as was a constant threat.

Bailey needs to learn when to cross it and when to take a player on, far better on the left.

Traore brough a bit more quality possession when he came on and linked with cash well.

Cash I put as motm due to his work trying to force the tempo on the right hand side, it was also his cross for sjm to save our skin.

Emery gets another poor, only times I have given him that have been in cup games.

Rotation is fine if managed correctly, not changing 2 out of 4 defenders ( central) and pushing konsa to right back, swapping out 2 midfielder in the middle for our slowest least dynamic players.

That's changed our entire middle of the team including forward, no wonder we keep messing up.

Well as 99% of us predicted, a midfield pairing of donker and teilemens is dog dirt.

It's not really a shock , we'll the shock is emery persisting with them.

1 or the other unless we are 3 goals up with 15 to go.

Time to have to bring on some of our better players.

Who knows, one cup game we may play with a decent team , put the far far weaker team to the sword and then let those players rest for the remainder of a game, rather than having to throw them on chasing a win.

There's rotation and there's alot to be said for synergy of the existing team.

Swapping a couple players spread in defence mid and attack, 1 of each, not our midfield and half the back.

Need to step it up massively 

That is not a strong team we are putting out.

I can only hope our midfielders play to their potential 

Fingers crossed we don't need to sub anyone and they play the other team off the park

He's a second behind the action at the moment, that will sharpen.

He's also playing on the wrong side, he is either going to have to learn this new position more to stay in the team or play less and play in his preferred position.

I would like to see him on the right or as the second striker however unless mcginn is moved or diaby is moved, that won't happen often.

At the moment, I appreciate he hasn't put in any top performances but no preseason, new country and club and out of position, he's just one of those players you want to see hit their top levels on a regular basis because we've all seen his highlights which are very good.

It will happen 

Need them to continue like this for the rest of the season, possibly finishing 16th at best.

There's going to games we will lose and these will be able to cheer me up.

As we need to make sure we win, it wouldn't shock me if emi is starting in goal for first 45 but I'm expecting it to be olsen.

That way we are rotating a few but Carlos can be trusted so really only 2 who have yet to show their quality for us.

It needs to be a win 

Having the midfield 3 of kamara mcginn and Luiz with luiz the one pressing has got us on the front foot, as has emis long balls to watkins.

It's been a while since we used high intensity aggressive play when off the ball and it is clearly working today so far.

2 good watkins goals, diaby with 3 or 4 chances but held onto the ball a fraction too long but was there for the 3rd goal.

In other games, especially if we were playing the top 6 2 of those goals I could see being disallowed, zaniolo being near the keeper offside for watkins 2nd and Luiz clash 20 seconds before the 3rd.

The only player not quite on it is zaniolo so far, the speed of the game at the moment seems he is a second behind, but again I think he is better on the right hand side.

My confidence in some of our subs has taken a bit of dip due to their performances against Everton, again ,hopefully it's out of their system and they saw how bad some of their play was.
