First half was a proper nuisance, great goal.
2nd half he like most of our players, couldn't handle our long clearances while under pressure and tailed off quickly.
Kids a gem though and has done himself proud so far.
Another jewel in our crown.
Cheers smoggies

Our defence was dogturd for the whole game today......poor passing out, lightweight challenges and leaving men unmarked at every setpiece....
So lets blame Olsen.
I'm not his biggest fan but that result certainly wasn't down to him.
I'd argue Unai was more at fault for allowing the shit all round play to go on as long as he did without changing it.
No ones pinning the entire performance on olsen, people quite rightly are pointing out his failings tonight. People are also saying multiple players played badly, olsen being one of them. And being the keeper and being poor, often ( as is the case 95% of the time with olsen) goals are conceded. So while it's not ALL down to him, he is partly responsible.

nonsense
?
What, that he averages conceding over 2 goals a game for us ? He's played 11 games and conceded 23
That he spreads panic at the back ?
That we have twice as many long clearances ?
Ok hit me with the plus points

There's absolutely no way we get 3,000 seats into the gaps between the posts of the North Stand and the stands next to them - we'd be lucky to fit 400 in there. It might be suitable for a couple of container type hospitality boxes but 3,000 seats is the same as the Lower North Stand.
3000 may be a bit optimistic for temporarily filling in the sides, I blame alcohol and optimism, but I would be hoping with knocking and rebuilding the north stand the corners would generate more than 400 ?

Olsen is not as good a goalie as Emi ... not a surprise to anyone.
So it is not surprising that he does not perform as well as Emi.
Robin is not a "shit" goalie.
Today's draw is not Robin's fault unless we include the saves he made.
He concedes over 2 goals per game for us.
That's not ideal.
He is an old fashioned keeper trying to play how we play but hasn't got the skill or confidence to do it. That unfortunately, spreads to the entire team. It limits our play and is counter productive to how we normally play.
We need a plan b for when he has to play, as in we change how we play and set up.
Olsen in goal means duran and watkins need to play as the amount of long balls doubles, and they are mainly not targeted long balls, they are clearances. So with just watkins, it gives possession straight back.
We go from having an extra outfield player at the back, which martinez becomes at times, to not having one and being put under far more pressure which leads to more mistakes.

So Unai is happy after today and the point taken.....
But let's ignore what our manager thinks because what the **** does he know
You think when he has his meetings with the team tomorrow he will be hghi fiving them all saying well done ?

I said it elsewhere - but look how angry he is!
I think frustrated, just like alot of us after the 2nd half performance.
All eyes on arsenal tomorrow, hoping they don't bottle it, then it's a point gained rather than 2 lost for today.

Judging by your inability to understand my post, I would say that even at 7, I'm older than you....
Go lie down before I steal your stuffed toy and eat your snacks...
I fully understand your 'I'm a better fan than you' snide post.
And way to sound like a paedo

How many matches have we played this season?
How many injuries have we endured?
Where are we on the table?
Semi final of a trophy....
I know moaning is a staple of VT, but some people actually need to go lie down and stop typing absolute garbage.
I'm going to go enjoy being a Villa supporter, some of you might want to give it a try...
so when we play terrible, we have to not say anything because we then don't support villa ?
How old are you ? 7 ?

Don’t rate him do you ? Managed to make up a case for your argument with piss poor evidence I’m afraid. No one else played a part in any of the goals then ?
Tonight and in 95% of the time he has had to play ? No, he averages at least 2 goals conceded per game. Not ideal really is it ?
He was terrible as were 3 or 4 others tonight.
As a team we were terrible in the second half.

I understand you’re upset about the performance, but give him some credit. It’s very difficult for keepers to come on at half time without a proper warm up. Olsen was brave the corners and took some good crosses. Made a great save when Diego messed up. Not even Emi was saving the second goal.
It's his gerenal positioning, his lack of command of defenders and his own area.
He claimed a couple decent balls, he also was in no man's land and was at fault for the one he saved , that was entirely his making, the defender thinking they could pass back, couldnt, because olsen had left himself stranded. He could hace called for the ball and cleared it or could have stayed back, he did neither, which they then had the corner and had a disallowed goal from.
He's probably had 2 or maybe 3 good games for us... in his whole villa career. Against spurs ? No shots on target bar one which Ashley Young cleared off the line.
Bring on the crazy aussie, he can't be any less reliable.

Olsen didn’t do much wrong and a great save to deny Palmer.
? Their 1st goal when we were playing it out from the back ?
The 2nd goal caught in no man's land ?
The disallowed goal where he was yet again out of position causing all kinds of panic ?
His 'save' with his arm looked more like he was calling for offside than trying to save it, he was gash and spread panic in the defence, as he 95% of the time does.

Olsen was utter gash as per 95% of his time here.
Some terrible performances tonight
Diaby
Watkins
Olsen
Doug
Very under par.
Went almost as bad as under Gérard in that 2nd half, couldn't string 2 passes together bar 2 times. That's terrible.
We get a point, a valuable point but Jesus, how to throw away a game from a commanding position.
Basic football should have been enough to see us home and dry.
Clearly have eyes on the semi final but for me I would rather have the aussie keeper in goal than ololsenlitrrally zero faith in him, his lack of common sense or actual positioning.

We need 2 more goals, ideally 51st minute and then slow it down then pop another in the 75th and then I will relax
If we can score more after that I would be jolly happy
Obviously I don't care as long as we win but seeing a cherry on the cake would be nice

im not following the point of making the seats retractable? if you move them back to build a north stand then what would be the plan? could they come back somehow?
Yes, to eventually attach to the new north stand, pull them away while demolition at end of next season, add them back for new season while rebuilding. Limits loss when we do rebuild as there would be an extra 3000 seats at a guess more than nothing in the end and gives us 3000 more seats until the rebuild.
-
I'm pissed and had an amazing thought without much thought
Retractable seating on the corners of the north stand ( like train rails so they can be moved away from the ground when we do expand the north stand).
So build the tracks , add in the stands each side, that instantly adds extra seating.
Then later
Knock down north stand ( retract the sides so they are safe) rebuild north stand and then move the side seats so level with new north stand once built.
Less impact on gate receipts while redeveloping the north stand due to the sides being put into place once demolition is done on north stand and rebuilding is taking place.
Clearly not thought it through but have polished off a bottle of e18hteen caramel rum tonight so if nothing else, that's an achievement

The only real concern they cause is their speed.
If we can stifle them and play how we can, this in theory, should be a 2-0 or 3-1 win.
Would think putting doug back in and letting diaby go to the bench (or bailey) to have a midfield 3 of teilemens, doug & super john as we need to control the midfield when we win the ball back.
I expect they will repeatedly hit the diagonal long pass trying to beat the offside.
-
We just need to keep winning, simple as that.

The Dunkin’ Donuts Doug Ellis stand with Dug Ellis stand in big neon
I was thinking more along the link with the CEO of coca cola, or other international brands and removing at least the names
The north stand and doug Ellis stand for example
The coca cola stand with heavy branding for that stand
I don't care what those stands are called if we are getting substantial additional revenue

Can see renaming of parts of the ground, the doug Ellis stand probably being the first to be sponsored and renamed.
Potential for 3 of the 4 sides to be seperate sponsored ( obvs not the holte end)
Generating an extra couple million at least, per stand per year would seem easily achieved if we remain in Europe.
-
Need 3 more for arsenal this half and a couple cheeky yellows /niggly injuries to Chelsea key players so they are out of the villa game but ok for their remaining games.

Had his best game in some time.
the timing is perfect, if he can keep up this level to the end of the season then we could clinch 4th and a trophy.

Most worryingly is he seems to need a couple games to get back to speed, we only have 3 league games and hopefully 3 Cup games left. If he's out for 2 weeks, that's 4 of these games gone.
Hopefully he just got a kick in the bollocks and a bit of deep heat will sort it
