I'd throw rhodes in too and let ayew go - Rhodes with that midfield would get chances and is a natural finisher - ayew has little end product . bree would be a great addition at right back - we'd have a real crack at play offs with those 4. noted Allan mcgregor linked with loan move to Cardiff - would have probably preferred him to Johnstone personally as he helped hull up last season under Bruce .

I'd stick jedinak in front of the back 4 and hourihane and Lansbury would both give him far more aid than Westwood and Gardner - creativity about to return to our midfield at long last .

Seems odd having a medical in dec and being sold a month later - what if he sustains a problem between the medical and being sold ? However vIlla transfers has been on the money all the way on deals and I'd take Rhodes ahead of ayew - if lansbury and hourihane are in then the creativity is much improved.

Villa transfers was right with his medical today news and is now saying 2 other medical s are booked for Friday and Saturday with villa closing in on multiple deals - seems good news finally about to come our way .

Been going to the villa since late 70s but the best atmosphere I saw ever was the European game between Scotland and holland in 96 - the place was literally shaking with the noice created . as for fans roaring the team now - its hard to do so when some players stroll around looking like they couldn't give a toss.

Not sure the price will fall - Gibson is a shrewd operator like levy and will squeeze every penny he can get from us - if we get Rhodes I'd expect we will have to offer them what they want - they are under no pressure to sell.

Wouldn't surprIse me If thiS one went down to deadline day and we see who blinks first - with the Bristol city game now off next week I'd expect this one to run on to the wire . with sheff weds away at Brighton we could get the gap back to 7 points this weekend and hopefully back in the hunt .

On a scale of 1 to 10 i would say about 7 - right more often than wrong but he does get it wrong on occasions . he may be sayIng villa had a bid turned down for Rhodes which many seem to be reporting but who knows if we will up that bid - doubt pat does.

Barnsley have already sold a player to arch rivals sheff weds last week so I doubt selling hourihane now would bother them if the money is right.
