No, not Luiz. I wonder where all those cases of lost possession for Digne comes from, they weren’t obvious by watching the game.
Haven't checked the stats, but thought most of his crosses hit the first defender.

It's not very great right now, but I'll reserve judgement on his tenure until he's had a preseason and a summer window of more of his signings under his belt.
Its actually kind of funny how his tenure so far is mirroring Smith's start to our season. Consistently good early performances even if the results weren't matching (Chelsea x2 for Smith, City/Liverpool for Gerrard), great performances against United, scrappy wins against Everton, then performances start becoming inexplicably flat. Feels like something deeper is wrong with this squad, and I hope Gerrard gets time to get to the root of it, just like I wanted Smith to have the same.
Perhaps it's merely that the players react positively to the change at first, but the effect wears off rapidly once the reality kicks in. Gerrard is probably way more demanding than Smith was, so the fallout will likely come a lot sooner.

Have to be on the wind up
Why? Gerrard was brought in to produce results. End of.

The inconsistency comes with the territory of being a midtable team. But Gerrard hasn't come here to do that. It's going to be a lot of work to add the consistency he'll demand for next season.
Right on the money. If midtable would be acceptable, surely we could've just persisted with Smith. If we don't finish the season on a high, perhaps we need to change manager again.

He's on a long contract and is highly rated by the board. He'll be here next season barring an absolute disaster.
Yeah, 'long contract' means great deal nowadays.

He sounds very very pissed off from the post mafch. Rightly so. They let him down badly.
Mcginn luiz watkins cash all garbage today.
He's very eloquent with the media and fans, always says the right thing, but I've yet to see the proper response from the players. I think he's too fond of the "Liverpool way", which frankly we're not yet ready for.

Why exactly is he playing instead of Hause?

Gerrard has got a bigger job this summer than I first thought. Poor today, and perhaps opened his eyes a little.
Could be an exciting transfer window ahead.
Gerrard really needs to show he's capable first. The way we're performing with the players we've got, is frankly embarrassing.

That was dire.

I think one of the most frustrating things is that I can’t think under Gerrard we have put in a 90 minute performance. We play well in fits, but not throughout a whole game.
Much like it was with Smith. I do believe we can reach a higher level of consistency with Gerrard though.

This would've been the perfect game for Hause.

Outplayed. Lucky to get a point.
Hardly. Outmuscled perhaps.

Fecking dirty inbred Leeds bastards and one of the worst refereeing performances this century... Still we've only ourselves to blame for throwing away the win.
Also Konsa is an idiot and a rest will do him good.

I just don't understand this absurd predilection for English RBs at Atletico.

Fine. I confess. It was me.

Nice debut by Coutinho. Buendia improving game by game. Digne is such an improvement on Targett, it's like playing in cheat mode. Too bad we keep making these stupid mistakes.

Thankfully Gerrard made the right subs.

Ffs Cash. Two piss-poor games in a row now.

This is the most disgusting performance I've seen from Villa. Nobody is on the se wavelength. We've created nothing. We are pathetic
We've in fact had three decent efforts at goal.

Not by us he’s not I don’t think. We know full well that he is pretty much our engine
Every other week there's someone on here advocating his sale.

If this really is the case, what does it say about manager's ability?
