More likely to be the Newcastle defeat tbh
Whereas Maguires 3 whole appearances have been stellar. Southgate is almost as clueless as Gerrard.

So this is what it feels like to have an actual football manager. Must say, I kinda like the feeling.

What more can you expect!?

Christ on a bike, nearly 100 pages and he hasn't even started yet.
Actually he has, depending on where you live of course.
Anyways, exciting times are upon us.

from highlights I have seen at Norwich it seems him and Pukki have a good understanding
Absolutely. Perhaps he'll reignite Pukki's goalscoring as well.

Surprising none are discussing his two goals? Haven't really seen much of him, but seems a real talent. He'll surely thrive next season under Emery.

Its will all be Austin MacPhee's fault

Or maybe he’s actually good at his job?
What an absurd statement... Thankfully VT knows better!

Emery has been given a bigger budget and ambition than the club he was at. He's here to buy young players , and build a team from the ground up, and a project. He isn't here to play 30 year old players that can't move anymore.
Plenty of guesswork here. I must have missed where he spoke about his remit with us.

Pretty sure Emery is looking forward to implementing world class talent like Coutinho to the team, irrespective of past performances and form.

Some proper insane comments in the match thread.
Many predicted we would have a tough time here and so it proved.
But again I take positives. Like Man City we've shown in the first half we have the capability to match these top teams, at least for a while.
We've played really well in spells against Man Citeh, Chelsea and now Newcastle.
We've just last week hammered a team above us in the table.
Let's examine the facts.
We haven't won't at St James's Park for years, it's a proper bogey ground for us.
Newcastle were 4th at the start of play and have been flying.
We're under a caretaker who is miles away from being a proper manager.
We matched them, and in fact probably shaded the first half till undone by a penalty.
Some of the VAR decisions looked well dodgy.
Yes, heads dropped after the second went in but there is loads there for Emery to work with. The bones of a really good team are there.
I hate that we collapsed but it's not the end of the world. Onwards to The Emery years.
You talk a lot of sense, but the highlighed bit needs some serious revising mate.

Such an amazing feeling, not dreading matchdays anymore.

Just now got around to watching his post-match interview. If only more managers were a little more humble and sensible, perhaps they'd keep their jobs a tad longer too... Kind of also proves football doesn't always have to be so goddam complicated. Play to the strength of the players and they'll most probably perform for you. Aaron will likely not be a long term solution, but I have no problem whatsoever, should he have to oversee the position for a few more matches.
Also **** off Gerrard.

7 goals all season before this, we have 4 today. Just wow
This just confirms how piss poor Gerrard actually was. Not that we really needed any confirmation. Time to breathe the free again.

When other clubs resort to these caretaker managers, I see them go on long unbeaten runs that bring the club and fans together. Can we just have one of those please.
Our way will most likely be that biggest defeat in the club's history is incoming.

No way we'd hire Frank or an up and coming manager now. We'll 100% be getting a respected, top manager in. My guess is Poch. Let's just hope it works out.

It would be too chaotic getting rid of manager and CEO at the same time.
Bollocks. Fixing what's wrong on the pitch is all that matters at this moment.
E. I really don't care if he stays or goes, as long as we get a proper football manager in charge asap.
-
The players have already given up. No way that useless excuse for a football manager can survive this.

I agree. Nor do I like the projection of Gerrard's failings onto him, Purslow will make the right call.
Mind telling him to speed it up please!

Only Wolves have scored fewer goals than us and Everton and Wolves have had fewer goal involvements per game than us this season
Come on mate, he's only got Coutinho, Buendia, Watkins, Ings and Bailey to work with... will need at least a couple more transfer windows.

Plenty of us said that we needed a new striker in the summer. Ollie's not what we need up front.
What we really need, is an actual football manager.

There's absolutely no point persisting with Gerrard. Anyone thinking otherwise, needs to change medication.

Maybe so, but surely he isn't basing these decisions on singular games. Gutted for Mings obviously, but not too bothered otherwise. He'll get back into the England setup once Southgate is sacked.
