There's no point continuing with Gerrard.

Can't understand why the fringe players didn't start and play all game smells of desperation to me.
Absolutely. He knew he had to win and couldn't take any risks.

Is it personal with Steven Gerrard for people? Is there something about him people just don't like? Or is it strictly a coaching thing? Not sure if I grasp the levels of antipathy, to be honest. I've never been a particular fan, but it seems like there's something deeper going on that goes beyond the performance, all this old score-settling or baggage or something. I don't get it.
For me it's really simple, he just seems completely out of his depth. Don't think I've ever seen a manager so devoid of footballing ideas. There is no discernible way of playing. He's had 10 months. Zero progress. Most often, we look like a team that's never played together. Also we have a very expensive team full of internationals. I mean it would be absolutely hilarious, if it wasn't so goddam tragic.

Not going to hang around here for long because there are going to be some very angry, disgruntled people spouting a load of shit about how we are rubbish because we beat a league 1 side 4-1 and this just proves even more Gerrard should be sacked immediately.
Well you guys took a bit of a beating tonight. Sorry for you.
I enjoyed the match. Can’t remember when I actually last enjoyed a cup match, it seems to have been a long time.
Well done lads, took our chances well.
Oh get off your high horse pal. We struggled badly for large periods of the game, and if you cannot see that, I strongly suggest a visit to the nearest optometrist.

Good second half, but let's not forget, we played a midtable league one side. Beat West Ham comfortably and the pitchforks will go away (for a few weeks).

My god, we're really growing into the game.

I guess you didn't support Deano either then, as once his golden ticket left he was up shit creek without a paddle and got found out.
Only got us up due to grealish coming back from injury and saved us another season the the championship
I did. He was likeable and his football was miles better, irrespective of Grealish.

This. I am not impressed by his tactics and how he has us play so far, but as long as he is in, the club thinks he can do it, I support the team. End of. If needed he’ll be sacked, or he turns it around.
Supporting the team, and supporting a clueless chancer for a manager are two different things.

Lol, FFS.
Glad we've won. Sort of wish it had been narrower margins, as on paper Stevie G can now claim this as a comprehensive victory and well executed game plan.
No, he really can't.

I don't care anymore. We could win this 10-1 and SG still needs to go.

Lucky break. Ings with the touch of a rapist there, would've never in a million years gotten t that ball.

Do we actually know how to play anything else then these mindless longballs?

Gerrard should be sacked.
Fixed that for you mate.

Surely the writings on the wall? The owners aren't blind.

Geez our forward line-up looks like it's never played together before today.

Don't want to be negative, but what the **** are we doing?

Important three points. We were calm and determined for most parts. Everton are shit though.

Hopefully come next season we'll actually start to see some sort of improvement in results. Otherwise Gerrard can bugger off back to Liverpool or whatever. This is by no means any better than what Smith gave us.
-
He's never in hurry this chap, yet play never stalls when he's on the ball. The mark of a genuine footballer.

We were lucky to keep a clean sheet I thought.
They had one shot at target. One.

Best game of the season (so far!).
It's no coincidence we're playing a lot better, now that Buendia isn't there spraying wayward passes all over the pitch.

Don’t forget the Peace Cup!
John Terry wont ever, that's for sure.

The players are what they are. Some are decent, some not good enough, and a few world class, but certainly good enough for midtable or better. If Gerrard doesn't change "the system" for next game, he's simply a moron, and has no business being a manager in the top flight.

That he doesn't know how to get the best out of the outstanding midfielders we already have, or a Brazilian Olympic champion winning CDM.... obviously... Lol
Yeah, I doubt Gerrard would've ever come here had we not had Nakamba in the squad.

That may be, but do you honestly believe he still could turn things around?
