I’m starting to hate Martinez
You're not the only one. He's a fantastic keeper, but an arrogant prick too, and takes far too many risks. He'll be off in the summer anyway.

A better touch there and Bailey is in.
Sadly that is never the case with Bailey.

Most frustrating villa player EVER.
Fixed that for you.

No idea how or why he's still on the pitch.
We have no one else to play. There's a reason as to why Bertie has been recalled.

Not saying you’re one of them, but I find it funny how many people on this forum have taken so long to realise this. He’s very poor in almost every single match.
He's beyond poor. Absolute pub player. Seeing as we've been flying high, I've tried to keep the bashing to a minimum.

Bailey really is shockingly bad.

WHAT THE **** ARE WE DOING?

Does Bailey ever beat his man?

Getting fed up with Martinez bullshit now. He needs to drop all that unnecessary antics and the too overconfident approach.

This is very sensible move by Emery. Furthermore, Bertie can certainly play wide too if push comes to shove, irrespective of his tracking back. I doubt he'll be starting too many games either way.

Anyone thinking Delofeu is an upgrade on Buendia or Coutinho, are in for a serious disappointment.

**** me that was bad. Both him and his dad can **** off.

We only have ourselves to blame. The quality is there, if only we'd be better at using it.
And Bailey needs replacing asap.

Bailey really is pub player, isn't he?

Once again, it's as clear as daylight, what a difference, a real football manager can have on a decent squad. Long may it continue. I don't think we need to be hasty in the January market either.

They made a fair few really important signings in January that fixed most of their problem areas. Bruno, Trippier, Burn (three great and effective signings) and even Woods (they had nobody to play upfront and he was at least a functional forward even if he didn't score). In the summer they made even more huge singings...Pope and Botman notably. Let's see how we look with 5 1/2 top quality signings extra.
My point is that this Newcastle team is completely different to the one struggling when Howe took over.
People on here would roll on the floor laughing if we was even being linked to dogshit like Botman, Burn or Wood. Most of us probably also thought Trippier's BBD was way past it.
Fact is Newcastle are playing really good football with some very average players.

231 million net spend since takeover didn't hurt
A third of that was spent on Isak, who's barely played yet. A closer look at what they've actually bought, heck it's even more impressive. Trippier was a real masterstroke for 14m.
Also it's not like we haven't spent anything these last few years. On paper we certainly have the stronger team. It's gonna be really interesting seeing what Emery can get out of them. I wouldn't be surprised if we still manage to challenge for top6.

Not looking good for morgan
He'll have to bide his time. He's not played much for a year or so. I'm sure we'll soon find out if he's good enough or not.

So we have Liverpool and Tottenham after the break, after that we have a run of very winnable games. I would hope that we can grab as many points as possible vs Liverpool/Tottenham and then aim for a high points return for our following games.
I would think they fear us more than we fear them at the moment.

McGinn will be just fine. Like the others, he too needed coaching. I'm 110% certain we'll see plenty more of these performances.

Who'd have known, all it takes is a proper football manager and results will follow.

Great result and fully deserved. I quite like our subtle, newfound mean streak.
Also, I have to add, at no point was I worried we'd concede at the death, which we've come all too accustomed with.

I quite like how we're not messing about anymore under Emery. If we need to foul, we just do it.

Careless and petulant, as per usual. He's had his moments, but he's just too inconsistent and weak for a top6 aspiring team. He'll be a squad player next season.
