Didn’t he have 3 chances on goal? I think some just don’t want to like him
It is not a question of liking or disliking the player. I honestly don't even care that much about his sulking attitude, I just don't see nearly enough of an impact on the pitch.

I like him, we were dreadful in 2nd half until he came on and made things happen with his presence
What exactly did he 'make happen'?

I really despair at all these comments of Duran 'doing well' or 'making an impact'. Maybe we're just watching a different game or another sport entirely. The only worthwhile impact from yesterday, was that cute, little flick, that almost went on goal, and that was in over 30 minutes of pitch-time.
Apart from that moment, he was mostly running around like a headless chicken, constantly raising his arms, moaning and shouting at others. Which tbh, is his usual contribution in most games. I suppose one positive from yesterdays game, was him not getting unnecessarily booked (for the umpteenth time).
People are also very keen to point out a weekly basis, that he has an abundance of ability. What do we mean by 'ability' these days, and where exactly is this noticeable?
I get it, he's a 20 year old kid, from a place, a tad more exotic than Exeter, and we all want him to do well, but his actual output thus far is simply shit.

Putting on Duran so early has cost us dearly. Was like playing with 10 men. People claim he is some great talent. Utterly laughable. Most sunday league players are more complete footballers.

The comparison to Balotelli is ridiculous.
Do people remember the things that guy did or how he acted?
From a pure footballing perspective, he certainly was on another level altogether.

If we can get rid now, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Will never make it in the Premier League.

Such a sexy boy
If only we'd get 5 more points at the end of the season, for the 'most sexy team' in the Premier League.

Did something worthwhile for once. Let's be happy about that.

Someone said in the match thread he isn't good enough for this level and have to concur. Simply too slow and clumsy. Add to that, his passing is very predictable. Fine as a squad player though.

Our form has severly declined, making this win ever so important. Think we need at least two new faces in.

We really aren't used to this kind of pressure. Step by step though. We're getting there.

FFS. Getting fed up with this sloppy shit. Make some changes Emery.

We need to win this.

It's going to get ugly very quickly if we dont win this.
As it should. This is purely tactical and Emerys stubbornness.

Perhaps once in a while we could drop this ridiculous high line... this was bound to happen, especially considering how goddam slow we're at the back.

Oh lord our CBs really move like snails.

Ah yes the mythical world class striker available in January.
No, but an improvement on Duran shouldn't be that hard to find.

Nah. Is this a translation issue or are you just really harsh and demanding on youngsters? It's silly to expect him to win a match for us, but you hope that he does because he clearly has potential and ability.
Harsh or not, we're challenging for the league title ffs. We need players that can step up, and for certain expect to make a difference, coming on from the bench. I'm sure Emery recognizes this and will do everything to get a more ready-made player available in January.

We hope he learns from the minutes he gets and can impact the game, but it's stupid to expect him to dramatically change the course of things at his age.
Then it's equally stupid to put him in these games. He'd be better oft playing with the reserve team.

Bad cameo today - touch and decision making not good. It's to be expected with kids though and we shouldn't be looking at him to change a game at his age.
What exactly are we allowed to expect from a substitute player then?

Which is why it's fundamentally dishonest of VAR to show officials one angle.
Considering how long it took, I'm sure they looked at it from a number of angles. It's obviously a foul, but so is the shirt pulling, which begun before Ramseys foul.

How can that be a free kick for the keeper when the United defender pushes and drags Ramsey into the keeper? Should have been a penalty.
Probably cus from that angle they're looking at it, Ramsey is actually holding his arm, thus hindering him jumping.

He's so far off being able to play games at this level, it's not even worth discussing.

Yes, he had the one good effort almost on goal. Everything else, you're just clutching at straws here mate.
