  1. i wish my accountant could do that.
  2. the problem with this post (and many others like it) is that the "fact" that there is no buyer imminent, is just one more rumor. We're all guessing.
  3. Is there anything official about this, or, he was seen at Bodymoor and lots of conclusions drawn?
  4. Rovers, really appreciate your humor. I did laugh. Just didn't want to click like because I don't agree with what I think is your point. But well stated, sir, well stated.
  5. For a long time my reading of the tea leaves was that there was a deal expected well before the season. I still think that's most likely, but it does depend on the angle you hold your head and squint, which way you see it. Because no deal is done till it's done, Randy and lambert have to keep a plan b in the works. It may be that sendross and keane are part of that plan b
  6. OK, I want to be sure I understand this thread. According to FFP, if we sell 14 players for 2 million pounds each but then buy 3 for 1 million euro each, then get one on loan for half a million dollars, given the current exchange rate we'll have made a profit or loss of one Roy Keane ITV contract, unless the FFP lets us keep Lambert whose record is either bad but not his fault, or doesn't matter whose fault it is because it's bad so the manager must go. All of which depends on whether we are applying the euro FFP, the BPL FFP, or the difference between abuse and bullying? Have I got it, or am I in the wrong thread again?
  7. Sorry, I accidentally stumbled into the FFP thread. Can someone direct me to the takeover thread?
  8. His agent more than likely. How on earth are you able to spot a "potential new owner"... unless they have a tag around them saying "potential new owner" it could be anyone. I don't know, but whoever sent the text was under that impression....
  9. Forget Roy Keane, who were the potential new owners he was spotted WITH !
  10. Well, except for Amo that is.....
  11. We could - but our most reliable ITK - has again come up with the goods tonight - he also reckons any takeover is a way off - the pointers suggest he is right. Keeping optimistic - as its a privately owned club - we could go from no interest to done deal in a matter of weeks We have a reliable ITK ? Who? What did he say?
  12. Having a short fuse and bullying are not the same thing though are they. Some of our squad need a boot up the arse! I think a boot up the arse would be considered bullying. At a minimum.
  13. czechlad, agreed on both counts.
  14. Agree on Besler. The Donovan ship has sailed... rightly or wrongly.... (wrongly, IMO) Overall, your line-up is closer to what I think we'll do...I'm trying to think farther outside the box, in the likely vain hope I can come up with something that might work better. I just don't think Dempsey works hard enough to be the second striker and Altidore is pushed too far up to play that link, so it will be a complete disconnect to the forwards which would result in a bunker and hoof, and Altidore isn't consistent enough for that to be effective. I think Dempsey's work rate (absence of) demands a third (withdrawn) striker. or an advanced AM to link up the play. But can you see Zusi and Chandler trying to contain Ronaldo? I think Jurgen is trying the diamond in order to have an AM (bradley) who can provide that link. He does not want to bunker and hoof (perhaps because of Altidore's limitations) as is obvious from the dangerous passing our defenders have done the last two games. the miracle, is the only way out of the group, IMO.
  15. I still think a sale is closer than many think. (of course that's not hard to be true because some here seem to think there will be no sale until next summer AT THE EARLIEST.) Anyway, I think it's sooner rather than later, but I also think Lambert is guaranteed to stay for a season. Nobody in their right mind would sign up to be part of his coaching staff it that weren't the case. Nobody is going to hitch their wagon to a dying star. He will need the guarantee to garner any interest at all. Of course, I suspect that several of us on here would be willing to do the coaching for him. So Paul, if you want to give me a shot, just call me. (Cue the caustic - "we couldn't do any worse" comments)
  16. im a much bigger fan of the sport, than I am the fashion, so I've never paid much attention, but does since only a home kit was revealed (apparently), that the away kit is the same? Or is Lime still an away? Or a third? Or basically, what will we wear on the road. Again, I don't really care much about the kit, but I might splurge to wear "the right one" in Texas.
  17. As an American who is at a minimum, deluded, into thinking I know something about the sport..... The USA vs. Turkey was alarming. I still think it will be a miracle if we escape the group of death. Klinsmann appears to be insisting on a RB playing CB, an LB at RB, and an RB at LB. He's playing a diamond mid-field with the outside midfielders pinched in and the width coming from the full-backs, but the LM and LB could not get on the same page. They got raped repeatedly. They only gave up one goal, but that was because Turkey did not apparently bring any shooting boots on plane with them. They hit more stuff off frame than Tonev. On the attack, Dempsey remains the laziest player I ever saw on the international stage. I cannot STAND players that walk around after they lose a ball. If you lose it, you recover it ! Or you damn well drop back and defend until it's recovered. I don't see a solution for the USA with this roster, but I would start by playing a few people where they are used to playing across the back line. As much as many VIlla fans hate the 5 back I would be tempted to play. 5-1-2-2 -------------------------------Guzan (i know it will be Howard, but hey, I'm a Villan) _______Cameron_____Gonzales_________Brooks (I don't trust Besler) Chandler____________________________________Johnson ___________________Beckerman __________Bradley________________Jones ______________Altidore____Johannsson Klinsmann will never go for it. I will admit that several are prone to real mental lapses (Chandler and Brooks). But if we don't overplay the defense we're going to ship goals like a sieve. He will never go without Dempsey, and given the goals and creativity I can't disagree, but the laziness still drives me to drink. Speaking of which, it may be the only way a US fan can survive this world cup. (or a villa fan can survive this summer )
  18. OK, I'm embarrassed now. Seriously, I don't mind people being ignorant and not knowing anything... but just admit it.
  19. Welcome villanun, didn't know villa had much of a following among nuns, but setting that aside, what off message statements from Lambert do you mean? You may be right, but I'm not sure I know what the on message was.
  20. I'm still going to believe that winning more games in the premier league is incomparably better.
  21. There you go again. First assuming there will be no takeover, second assuming we will be woeful without it. You are entitled to do so, but I think it's funny that you start by praising positive thinking while you are making such negative assumptions. I'm not hostile or angered, just amused.
  22. Staying up and finishing mid table has substantially more
  23. Realistic if we're doomed. Alarmist if not.
