  1. Thank you. All this hype by posters who can't believe that others are 'calling for Lambert's head'. Hardly anyone is. Ironically, these are the 'knee-jerk reactionaries!' Also, when I rule the world I will ban the words 'Knee-jerk' and 'literally'.
  2. Tut, tut.... It's not an entertainment industry you know. No, apparently if you want to be entertained you have to go to the cinema or sky diving or rat-buggering or something like that. Your footballing duty in this life is to watch Guzan lump the ball upfield as many times as humanly possible, match after match, until his foot becomes a bloodied, festering stump. Be told!!!
  3. Of course not. And I'm one of those with more angst than most about the turgid bile we're churning up week in, week out.
  4. If we went down the loan route with our track record, we'd end up with a player called Wonga and forget to make the repayments.
  5. I too laughed at the OP when this thread first started. At the moment it seems he was just ahead of the curve. I sincerely apologise.
  6. We can start playing football like the invincibles in their pomp starting from next week, in which case I will be cheering from the rooftops and praising PL for all he's worth. That still won't alter the fact that the football has been eye-bleedingly awful for two months.
  7. The comments section makes me laugh - someone wrote "This is not an entertainment industry..." Really? Then what is it? Why else did football become so popular if noone found it entertaining to watch in the first place? If you want results without entertainment go and take an exam. Some people!!!
  8. You wouldn't be upset that we'd have to start all over again and throw away the relative stability we've had recently? stability at what cost and what objective? Stability is great if what you have is doing OK. Who knows what the future will bring but as with last season it aint very good, and even the most blinkered fan of Lambert would have difficulty to provide evidence to counter that But we are doing OK. One bad result doesn't change that. It's almost as if people have forgotten where we've come from in the past 3 seasons. I'd take stability and security, and I guess you can say mediocrity over relegation battles any day. That's where we are right now, and we don't just go from there to challenging for Europe in 1 season, unless we're spending big. Do you honestly believe we won't be in a relegation battle this season? Forget Man U. we are due an absolute kicking the the way we're playing. It's those below us I'm looking at and we are amongst the most predictably dull and dreadful in there.
  9. I chose the word evidence carefully. I have no proof but 13 games (or so) so far this season is definitely evidence. I do agree with you that the football was so much better at the end of last season though, which is the reason I want him to have plenty of time to prove me wrong - doesn't mean this football (if that's what it can be called) is above criticism. I can't say I paid an awful lot of attention to Norwich before the PL connection. Like many I was too busy self-harming over 'the one who cannot be named'. And I know Absolutely nothing about his time at Colchester.
  10. I hope you're right. I've got about 13 games of evidence this season to suggest that this is how he does want us to play. I'm not saying 18 months gets you the finished article but you should expect to see his stamp. I hope to God this isn't it.
  11. I'd think after 18 months we'd get an idea of the style of play PL is after. Doesn't look good to me. Man City at home keeps getting trotted out - we were totally outplayed at home. By half time we were lucky not to be at least 4 down with our hoofball tactics. If it were a boxing match it would have been a TKO before we delivered some sucker punches. I'll be generous and say I have 50% confidence in Lambert at this point. But that's with expecting a complete change in style.
  12. I'd like him to say 'Loose, as in moose, goose and footloose'
  13. I couldn't give a damn if PL wanted to talk about the Teletubbies and/or doing a line with Nigella in the toilets at half time. I wanna see what this progression is.
  14. Claret and Blue tinted specs. We've had so much luck this season that it's masked the cracks. Rubbish. I even admitted we were poor today. The playing style hasn't improved but on the whole results have. I suggest you reread your post. And our playing style is worse, easily the worst in the league I'd say. Results improved because our luck did. If we don't improve the way we play football we're in a relegation battle.
  15. Claret and Blue tinted specs. We've had so much luck this season that it's masked the cracks.
  16. I didn't. I said the football was dire against S'hamton and West Brom and got some dreadful stick for it. So what have you got to say to me? There are as many PL lovers on here who run when we lose. I still think he should be given time but for the life of me I don't see this 'plan'. Your list should be replaced with one item: Our luck ran out today.
  17. We've ridden our luck all season and this is what happens when it runs out. I fear a slide coming on.
  18. Said it since seeing him against Liverpool. He can't play football.
  19. It's a subjective point that can't be taken from you. It all depends what you like. When teams play great football it's like art. Watching Barcelona is like looking at a Dutch masterpiece. Villa, at the moment, is like looking at a two-year old's palm-print. Both can be entertaining I suppose. Depends what floats your boat.
  20. I admire the 'certainty' but if we battle the rest in the same way and do well, it won't be because of progressive football. The question we have to ask is can we step up from this level in the way we play? You can see it in the likes of Everton and Southhampton and even West Brom, but there's no platform here. We're playing Allardyce percentage football. It's perplexing, because we played football last season and waited for it to come good, which it did. Maybe most on here go to work and think it's all ok. Down here, all my mates think we're the new Stoke.
