  1. If we get the reported £30m+ I'd let him go.

We could get 3/4 quality players with the money and be a better team as a result.

Currently, if Benteke isn't on form, we offer little or no threat as we saw on Saturday

  2. Had a great day until the game kicked off. I was in block 529 row 23, and there were a handful of Arsenal fans (in colours) around us. Needless to say when the first goal went in it turned a bit nasty.

If it wasn't Arsenal fans around me it was the constant "sit down!" coming from behind. Does my head in! I'll sit down if people in front do. I get that you pay good money to go to Wembley, and if you had kids that couldn't see I 100% understand, but I'm not sitting down when others are standing.

Then others who moan that your not supporting the team because your not standing up and chanting (when we're 4-0 down)

how the hell did arsenal fans get tickets in our end?

Exactly the question we asked to stewards. Clearly a Villa area. They weren't exactly being discreet about it either. Full colours and jumping up when they scored

  4. Worrying that it's the same knee he had trouble with last season. Hopefully it's not a major op that's needed to get him back

Aston Villa defender set to miss the FA Cup final

Aston Villa's Danish centre-back Jores Okore is still struggling with knee complaints after making his comeback from a cruciate ligament injury suffered last season

Aston Villa defender Jores Okore is a serious doubt for the FA Cup Final as his on-going right knee problems continue to haunt him.

The 22-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament last season and is now training just once a week after starting to feel the effects of a gruelling season.

Okore was rested on Sunday and has sat out of all training sessions in a bid to make the Wembley showpiece but already the centre-half has been warned that surgery may be the only way to rectify the problem this summer.

It means that he won’t be going to the U21 European Championships with Denmark, either, as Villa weigh up his best means of recovery.

“He won’t be in that under-21 squad,” Sherwood confirmed.

“He is one who is training once a week. Last week he didn’t train the whole week. He is a warrior who just wants to play for the club.

“If I want anyone to be in the trenches with me it would be him. Unfortunately the knee is too bad so he is going to need some assistance on that.

“I had a good chat with the Danish FA and told them what has been happening. He was assessed by them last week.

“I’m hoping he doesn’t need surgery but I am not sure. It is related to the ACL but the ligaments are still intact.”

Asked if he will be fit for the cup final, Sherwood said: "In his mind he thinks his job is done because he is doing it for the team. That’s the way he feels. “I want him fit. Then I can make a choice.

“He really has gritted his teeth and got us over the line in the Premier League because he thought that was the priority.

“He is not thinking about himself. His performances, particularly with this injury considered, have been excellent.

“I think him and Ron (Vlaar) have been quality. The fans don’t see that side. The guys know they are putting themselves on offer.

Were you in the Villa Park crowd on Sunday?

“They are going in trying to do their job having at times only been able to train once a week, especially when you need to be switched on and fit, so I think they have done brilliantly.”

Vlaar is another player who is sticking to a light workload.

Sherwood knows the Dutchman is experienced enough to manage his own body but cut down his training time himself to improve his low appearance record.

With Ciaran Clark out injured and Nathan Baker only just returning, Villa have had little choice other than to stick with Okore despite his niggling injury.

In recent games against West Ham and Southampton his fitness level appeared to have dropped but Sherwood is hoping the rest this weekend will help his chances ahead of the clash with Arsenal.

Baker’s return against Burnley will also help his selection.

  5. Surprised Delph v WBA didn't get in. Great run by Zog and a great finish by Fab.

Also like Benteke's second v QPR. Great break and a class finish. Most strikers would've panicked in the situation but he was calmness personified

  6. Ticket has arrived today!!!

Went for £90 ticket in block 529 and I'm on row 23. Was hoping I'd be nearer the front but nevermind

£90 tickets and you’re only in row 23?? Sounds harsh to me. Usually the cheaper £50 ones are that far back.

Think it's because I'm down the side. Must be £90 regardless of what row. For the semi I paid £35 and was on row 8

  7. Took me a couple of days to get used to. Really have to be gentle on the power and braking mid-corner is a big no-no.

Started in the Ginetta series and won that, now onto the GT4's.

Think it looks better than DriveClub for me

  8. Guzan made one mistake and was dropped undeservedly IMO. Given has had an easy time till today and when the pressure was on he looked very dodgy.

Guzan made more than one mistake to be fair. Pre-match BT Sport showed at least three errors from him this season. City (a), Leicester (h) and Everton (a).

That said, I've seen enough of Given now to see that Brad deserves another chance

  9. Way OTT for me. I get that we shouldn't have ran on before the final whistle, but it's not like we caused the game to be postponed like Blackpool v Huddersfield. What's the punishment for that incident going to be?!?! £500k?? £1m??

We were overcome with joy at getting to Wembley in a competition ran by the very organisation fining us. Nobody was injured as far as I'm aware. Probably the closest anyone came to being injured was when Morrison tripped one of our fans up when he was trudging off the pitch.

Don't get me started on the Olbiyun seemingly getting away with throwing seats on fans........

  10. Feel sorry for MessiWillSignForVilla. Don't think Villa could have allocated tickets any more fairly to be honest.

I agree with what Limpid says too but it does come across pretty harsh. Who really checks the FA Cup Final ticket allocation at the start of the season & with our chronic record in the cup recently, there was plenty of us who missed the two early round games. No need to kick a man whilst he's down! [emoji3]

  11. Got my ticket today so can finally look forward to the Final.

The semi was emotional enough for me. Lost my dad a couple of years ago and was with him for the 2x Coca Cola Cup wins and the 2000 final.

Really believe it's our year this year. When we win [emoji3] pretty sure I'll be a blubbering wreck!!

  12. Wonder if Villa will give an indication of how many tickets are left at the end of today?

Would not want to be queuing/online thinking that you might miss out. I'd have countdown music going in my head! [emoji3]
