  1. We'll get that regardless Neil.....
  2. Simple poll for you. I'm hauled up in bed with a chest infection, and need something to cheer me up 8) If other please specify
  3. Neither, we haven't signed Baros and probably aren't likely to either.
  4. Baros, easily the more talented player. Get the impression that Vassell has reached his limit (which is pretty good all the same) whereas Baros still has a little learning left in him. People forget, Baros suffered from Angel-itis at Liverpool, playing upfront on his own most of the season.
  5. Oh Cressa you little tease you
  6. Meh. Would be an ok signing, can think of others that I'd rather spend that sort of money on. I'm just not sure he'd bring anything new to the team. But as always, if the manager wants him then Id be chuffed. Its cirtainly more likely than the Saviola link......
  7. I voted no. Doesn't take much imagination, it is 9pm on Friday after all!
  8. Ive not met anyone, fortunatly. Isn't it strange, people never look how you expect them too. Naz for example, is there an uglier man alive???
  9. I'm a security engineer right now. You know, alarms, cameras, access control that sort of stuff. My gaffer (on the security side) is a great bloke, I couldn't ask for more. The training has been excellent and I'm on my way to becoming a senior engineer withing the space of 9 months. He's even teaching me how to drive! But my other boss, on the IT side, is an word removed to work for. He treats me with contempt, as if I mean nothing to the business. Perhaps he can't see the progress I'm making because I rarely work with him. But on day's like today, I feel like throwing in the towel. Hence, I voted 7-8.
  10. I'm not convinced either, but I don't think we could do much better. Plus, the manager wants him. Not sure if thats a yes or a no?
  11. Pulp aren't even highly rated, maybe on this message board but not in the world at large. A lot of my generation can't remember them (and we grew up listening to them!)
  12. I picked U2 (now THATS pretentious crap JC)
  13. What the hell are we arguing about then? If the managers happy so far then so am I, simple.
  14. It was a toss up to be honest. I think Beattie underperformed last year and should be a lot better next. I think they will have a similar strike rate, so for the money it has to be Phillips.
  15. The title of the thread is 'Kevin Phillips'
  16. I havn't been round here. Didn't realise it had gone so downhill without me
  17. Ok..... If's, but's and maybe's. The only fact is that there are 2 months left of the transfer window. I'm not sure if any of them are off O'Leary's origional list, only man who could tell you that would be O'Leary. I'd give a longer response, but I'm not sure what you want me to say.
  18. So do you think that we'll end up with 8 or 9 players in? Think? No. Possible? Yes.
  19. If you're asking me would I put any of them in the first XI? Taylor and Hughes definitely, Phillips has an outside chance. Berger will have an impact either from the bench or against cirtain teams. What will O'Leary do? I have no idea. Where any of these players first choice on his list? Maybe. I haven't seen the list.
  20. And I think you are underestimating the players we have signed. Not world beaters no, but we were never going to sign Ronaldo where we? No matter how much money we throw at them, they wouldn't want to come here. So do you think they are the "four quality players required to take this club forward that were beyond our reach before the transfer funds materialised" ????????? That realy depends on who else we sign doesn't it?
  21. There you go, you just answered your own question. FFS I was using your quote in my response!!!!!!!!!¬! Yes, but my answer the the question that followed (but what better bargains than the players he currently has with four quality players coming into the team straight off?) would have been 'maybe he does concider these good bargins to give competition to his first X1'. The same answer to your previous question (Why not buy better quality players to take us forward and let last seasons regulars be the squad fillers?) We could go round in circles for an hour or two if you like.....
