  1. We've beaten Liverpool just once in 16 league matches at Villa Park so no surprise that they're only a best price evens to win on Sunday

Do bookies take results from games played over 10 years ago into consideration then? Seems a bit strange. It doesn't really affect todays results, completely different players, managers, tactics, etc.

  2. I find it funny what people think ghosts do.

I mean seriously if you were a ghost would you really spend your time walking up and down the same set of stairs or turning on taps and banging on walls?

No, you would use your new found elusiveness to watch hot women in the shower.

Ah, that's what all the other millions of dead people are doing, you see. It's the mental ghosts that go round throwing ornaments. That's why they're rare, not many mentals..

  3. I was sat on the shitter once straining really hard until there was a massive 'plop'. I stood up and looked around, nothing there. It creeped me out a little, but I shrugged it off...until it came to wiping. Again, nothing there.

I questioned myself, whether or not I'd dreamt the whole thing but I knew I hadn't because I could smell something shit-esque.

I remain sceptical, I just put this down as something I can't explain. It still gives me the willies when I look back at it though

Is what I hope to see. Sort of. I'd rather we went 442, but I don't want to see Heskey start (although I suspect we might) as he plays as a crap midfielder even if he's notionally up front. Delfouneso and Weimann don't look like great options, but then we don't see them in training so who knows.

Liverpool are a decent side but not exceptional. We should be taking a point here at least, though without Gabby I doubt we will.

100% agree with this, I was going to say pretty much the same thing and name the same squad. We can all moan about McLeish's formation and line ups, but as you pointed out, he and his team watch all the players in training week in, week out.

I'm in no way a fan of McLeish, but I think we have no choice but to back his decision on who to replace Gabby, personally. If we lose, whatever his decision will get criticised anyway, be that Bent on his own or partnered with Weimann, Delf or Heskey. Hindsight is a wonderful thing

  5. one of the odd things that used to happen in our house..our dog (a real softie) she used to leave her meals sometimes for days, she had a bowl for her food & one for her water both were on a very flimsy plastic matt..this has happened around 3 times.. when we came downstairs in the morning we have found her food on the bottom, the matt on top of her food bowl & the water bowl on top of the matt with not a drop spilt,we all loved our dog & would never stop her from getting to her food, how the water bowl ever moved with out a drop gone?

I'm stumped. My first thought is the spirit of a dead person did it though

  6. I'm going to keep on eye on this thread to see if anybody has had a ghostly experience that wasn't in the dark, hasn't just woken up or wasn't on their own

This is the ticket for me.

I once had a ghostly encounter (was actually rather scary), but it occurred in the dark, whilst I was half asleep.

I later consoled myself with the fact that it was probably a result of my mind being in limbo between sleep and consciousness. As I suspect a lot of encounters are.

Exactly. I've had similar experiences. About 10 times in the space of 4 months, I woke up absolutely paralysed, unable to speak, hearing music and people whispering my name in my ear. I either had to relax and go back to sleep or really force myself to wake up fully and sit up straight for a bit.

I googled it and found out it's quite common. I can't remember what it's called, but it basically is just being half awake, half asleep. If I hadn't had found this out I would have been convinced it was ghosts and would have 100% believe in them.

During this period I'd just got with my girlfriend and I had this the first night she stopped over. I had to wake her up in the night with a very muffled, high pitched, girly scream so she could help wake me up. Slightly embarrassing

  8. I sometimes wonder if phoentic spelling, such as that, affects kids who are currently learning how to write and spell. I use 'txt speak', but I didn't grow up with it. Correct spelling and grammar was already drilled in to me (I'm double checking this paragraph after I write it :) )

    Of for fu..

    Typo

  9. I got 25 kills, 1 death the other night, my best ever score. I spent the last minute lying down behind a truck to try and get no deaths and got knifed in the back

Next game 0 kills, 7 assists, 10 deaths. I've never come closer to snapping my controller

  10. Following on from the apostrophe thing, people who don't know the difference between they're, there and their. I despair at the spelling ability (or lack thereof) of the current crop of kids at school. I blame phonetic spelling for such travesties as "gawjus" instead of gorgeous.

On the 'their, there and they're' thing, I know the difference and it bugs me when I see it in the wrong context, but I've done it loads of times myself. I think it's carelessness and laziness more than anything and so on a forum such as this, or on facebook for example, it doesn't bother me too much

  11. I was taught that the apostrophe moves behind the "s" if the "s" is already part of the word. So, to use your example the possessive rule for "people" would always be people's [1] unless you were talking about say, someone with the surname "Peoples" in which case the possessive rule would be Peoples' [2], for example:

[1] The Rock delivered a vicious People's Elbow.

[2] David Peoples' filmography was fantastic, until he had to ruin it all with "Soldier".

Disclaimer: I went to school in Scotland so as far as I know the planet is square and all ailments can be cured with an Irn-Bru and some porridge; the above might not actually be correct.

I think we scrapped the apostrophe in Birmingham, didnt we? Aslong as you're posting from Brum you can stick them where you want. Le'ts g'o w'ild!

  12. If we create those chances on regular occasions, he'll put goals away. Obviously should of scored at least one today, although some decent blocks.

My only worry is, is it me or does him and Gabby have absolutely no partnership whatsoever? I know Gabby has set him up through great play but they never seem to talk, never seem to be like smiley celebrating together, in the way say A.Young/Bent and A.Young/Gabby did, whenever Bent misses a chance, Gabby seems to shake his head and have a moan. I guess it doesn't really matter but I do like to see our players like each other and have nice partnerships, don't seem to be the case here.

Well I know that Gabby's brother Charizma (sp?) loathes Bent, so I guess maybe the same could be true for Gabby, and if so that is unfortunate.

How do you know this :?:

I've thought the same as POB to be honest and figured that Gabby might dislike Bent by the way his brother talked about Bent on twitter. I reckon Gabby was pissed off when we signed Bent

  13. I love all M.Night Shyamalan's films, like The Village, Signs and The Happening. Even though they got slated I really enjoyed them, but I'm watching Lady in the Water at the moment and it is the biggest pile of poop I have ever seen

  14. I just asked the three women at work that sit near me what their favourite christmas song was. They all said Mariah Carey's 'All I want for Christmas'. I got annoyed and told them they did't know what they're talking about and they're not talking to me now

I'm sure this thread has been done before on Christmas's past but I couldn't find it. So what's you favourite Christmas song? It's got to be Slade for me

  15. I can get really good at this if I play it for an hour or two, kill/death ratio roughly 4:1, then if I don't play it for a couple of days and come back to it, I get absolutely destroyed, get annoyed and sulk in the corner with my girlfriend laughing at me

  16. To be fair, he admitted he made mistakes today. Especially at Spurzz in regard of tactics and team selection.

To put his mistakes into context it's about the same as if someone asks you to do us a favour and set the table ready for dinner, you say OK and then proceed to paint yourself purple and fill the washing machine with 2 old car battery's and a dead Gerbil (in a very small cowboy outfit, with hat, no gun) and shout in a excited voice "FINISHED, is dinner ready"?
