  1. I'd say he does rate them, he just can't afford them. your not going to get Santi Cazorla (or anything other technically gifted player) for £4m on £10K a week. Michu to Swansea - £2 Million Arteta to Everton- £2 Million Kagawa to Dortmund - €350,000 Just to name a few. All came into the respective sides making an immediate impact, think it's becoming too easy to blame everything on a lack of funds, there obviously are players out there that lambert can afford.

    Joe Bennett

He should of taken off Bertrand at half-time if he was suffering with a rib injury and replaced him with Bennett then. He was skinned left, right and centre for the first West Ham goal, Downing of all people looked like he was on a par with Julian Draxler. He always seems to play well against the villa.
  3. I agree I don't think he's quite ready for the premier league, I think he'll get better as time goes on just got to hope we don't get relegated in the mean time.
  4. Clueless he really is, has no idea how to play against a side who isn't going to attack and give us space on the counter. Our record against sides around and under us in the league must be absolutely shocking?
  5. Exactly it's beyond frustrating, we always play better after conceding
  6. Rapidly losing patience with lambert and at first I was a big fan, he seems completely clueless of how to play against sides around and under our level, looks like we set-up for every game looking for a nil nil yet when we do concede we look infinitely more threatening when the side go for it, it makes zero sense to me why not just start like this?
  7. Why can't we play like this before we concede? Every **** game this team needs a boot up the arse.
  8. Every time Downing has played against us he seems to tear us apart, same he was shite for us.
  9. Exactly, the moaning and the level of expectation is not the end product of a particular scoreline in a particular match it is a cumulative effect of nearly four seasons of playing boring football and not winning many games at home. When people have been subjected to an inferior product over a sustained period of time is it any wonder that they are not full of the joys of spring and they have a sense of 'de ja vu' every time we go a goal down? The fans are not to blame (as much as some on here seem to suggest) for the negative and insipid atmosphere at Villa Park it is the absent owner, a succession of inept managers, the low quality players used, the utterly boring style of football and a continuous supply of poor home results. Why are the fans so good away then? Same owner same players same manager and we do get better results! Well its quite obvious. We have 3 or 4 thousand away fans compared to 34,000 home fans. The smaller amount who give up more time and more money to follow away are likely to be the more vocal supportive ones. That makes total sense!! Don't the away fans go to home games? It's about attitude when going to the game nothing more nothing less. Surely you can't be serious? Have you ever been to an away game? Away fans are always more vocal and passionate than than the teams home support. It's usually the more hardcore fans that go, many see it as a day out and alcohol is usually heavily involved, of course they are more vocal than the home support. Every away game i've ever been too every villa fan has been standing, which adds to the atmosphere, being the away side vastly outnumbered it feels like your there to spoil the party and is a completely incomparable atmosphere to being at home. Just look at Man United, probably the worst fans i've ever seen when I went to Old Trafford away, no noise even at 3 nil up, yet seeing them at villa park, me sitting in the north stand, they were one of the loudest away fans i've seen.
  10. Yep because human beings are known to be cool calculated figures in emotional situations. How people are moaning at the fans is beyond me, the fans aren't the ones being paid multimillion pound contracts it's the players responsibility to perform. If nearly every home performance wasn't utter turd then maybe there would be a lot more patience but that's not the case and frustrations are completely understandable.
  11. Away support is always more vocal and passionate than the home support, just look at man united...
  12. To be honest how poor our home performances have been I don't blame the fans at all for shouting out in anger/frustration, its only human.
  13. Dear god. Pop in other football for the first time to see what's happening and there's a 456 page thread on Barry Bannan, time to slowly back away.
  14. Does it have to be one or the other? I think he's done enough to stay and continue with what he's doing, at least you can see there's a plan and a future. Haven't had that feeling for a while with managers, most seemed to buy for the now with not much attention paid to the future and that's what got us in the trouble with the wages having an ageing average squad on big wages.
  15. Bollocks, by that logic were unfortunate to not be further up the table because we should have beaten Liverpool and Chelsea away but only got the 1 point. Chelsea I agree with but not Liverpool. They were well on top after we went 2-0 up.
  16. Opening myself up to abuse here but In my opinion due to the way we've played I think there's a very good argument we are there by accident, plenty of games where we were lucky to get the win.
  17. Personally I wouldn't take Laurdrup here. I don't think our players, especially the midfielders are technically good enough to play that style. Just don't agree with some of the posts playing down what he's done at Swansea.
  18. That is just an example of what he's accomplished not the be all and end all, almost every accomplishment in football could be dismissed in a similar way.
  19. Why? Because he plays pretty football that doesn't get results Doesn't get results? Won a cup, 12th in the table, only three points less than us, and is still Europe. Who'd want that.
  20. Can't believe they have sacked him, where do they think they should be in league? Mid table team to me and competing in Europe, so strange,
