  1. Yes, absolutely. I cant understand with all the hype surrounding this player and the talk about his value in the transfer market how he cant get near the 1st 11 at the Appy Ammers! Got to be worth a shot but im not sure id be happy spending good money on him!
  2. what was this scoop then mate !??! tell me more Check out the last 30 pages!
  3. Also has one of the things MON was looking for....Panache!
  4. 100% Agreed! Unless i am mistaken he can play wide as well!
  5. He's not the first few season wonder and i doubt he will be the last!
  6. Not sure id be too happy with either of them! ....but it is a rumour page after all so i wont be getting too upset!
  7. bersons left us fella Is that deal already done or is he still a Villa player? Maybe it was made in August? Ok...but I still think that Ferguson doesnt give as much as players we have now on our books. I might be wrong, but to sign Ferguson and not give Hendrie a new chance seems a little bit waste of money and time. The club needs far better players than Ferguson to compete so lets go for big boys and keep what we have that we know can do good for the club. Hendrie isnt a world beater, but I miss his passion for Villa and his game when he plays good. He is also aggressive and that has been a very huge mistake for Villa to take away...we look like small pussycats alongside lions sometime and everyone knows what that means. You cant really compare Hendrie and Ferguson as players as they are so very different, and right now we need what Ferguson can bring to the table more! I am by no means saying he is the perfect option but he would seem to be available which is the be all and end all this window! I am a bit dubious about him myself as a long term option if you take into account his (albiet limited) time at Blackburn and the fact they are in a 'lesser' league, however a lot of the rangers fans see him as there one world class player. Considering they have seen one or two class players go through their team this may be worth taking note of.
  8. I dont think MONs Celtic connection would count against him that much as im sure all the years he spent there at very least they would have built up a mutual admiration. I agree with what you said about his other options in his current league that it would be difficult for anyone to afford him never mind his personal preferences (Hearts are in a bit of turmoil at present which may put him off his only realistic Scottish option). Of course this all depends on Le Guens fate at Rangers which are anything but rosy at present!! Go on MON, stick in a cheeky little bid!
  9. I dont know if anybody else has raised the question of Barry Ferguson who has fallen out with Le Guen at Rangers. I think he is a real possibility and just the kind of player we need in the middle....someone with real authority and leadership qualities. I have always rated him as a player even though he did not set the world alight at Blackburn. story
  10. When i first heard number 2 i laughed so hard it hurt! It was on 'this morning' told by some Irish comedian (cant rememember his name)....you should have seen the look on Philip Schofields face as he cracked the punchline....brilliant!!!!
  11. I am genuinely surprised DOL is so low, if there was one thing O'leary produced in his pomp was a entertaining team! For a while he had us playing some excellent football, amongst the best in the league IMO. To say Gregory produced a football style more pleasing to the eye is either a blind hatred of DOL or blind love of JG.
  12. I'd say he was over rated and past it, and not the sort of player we need. Indeed. Although someone in his mould but better who runs around all day, tackles hard and well, and is generally a bit nasty would be lovely. Nobody young enough or available enough springs to mind though. Even Martin and Randy couldn't bring Gattuso could they? Barton?
  13. He'd be perfect for Villa....but then again he would be perfect for most teams. Wonderfull player IMO. Could never understand why with all their midfield problems the Mancs never sniffed around....maybe im missing something!
  14. If we start bringing up every gripe we have with the premier league or even our fair club this thread is ging to be bigger than top Totty!
  15. Welcome General and thanks for raising my optimism by another notch! Its all well and good reading about developments/improvements through the usual media channels however to have you on site adds a dimension none of us though possible......actual communication! I too look forward to the first American tour!
  16. Now theres a player there wouldn't be much arguement about!
  17. How posh. I do try! :winkold: If we aquired those two then this would scare the shit out of any team! ----------------------Klose-------------------------Baros------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----Barry---------Petrov-----------------------McCann---------------Beckham---------- Looks fantastic on paper till you realise we would have the slowest midfield in prem history....again! Not saying i would not want Beckham but Barry would have to drop back for me.
  18. Bit of a come down isn't it! From one of the best teams in the world to the 3rd best in Scotland!
  19. I still think Geremi would be the best 'available' option! However it may prove difficult to get him now as he seems to be getting games!
  20. It would be pederson for me! If we are talkin Blackburn!
  21. Morley? Daley? Willie Anderson, Ray Graydon Milner!
  22. Take time to read this slowly. If you pay attention to the first two judges, the reaction of the third judge is even better! For those of you who have lived in Texas, you know how true this is. They actually have a Chilli Cook off about the time the Rodeo comes to town. It takes up a major portion of the parking lot at the Astrodome. The notes are from an inexperienced Chilli taster named Frank, who was visiting Texas from the East Coast. Frank: "Recently, I was honoured to be selected as a judge at a chilli cook-off. The third judge called in sick at the last moment and I happened to be standing there at the judge's table asking for directions to the Budweiser truck, when the call came in. I was assured by the other two judges (Native Texans) that the chilli wouldn't be all that spicy and besides they told me I could have all the free beer during the tasting, so I accepted." Here are the scorecards from the event: Chilli #1 (Mike's Manic Mobster Monster Chilli) Judge #1 - A little too heavy on the tomato. Amusing kick. Judge #2 - Nice, smooth tomato flavour. Very mild. Judge #3 - (Frank) Holy 5h1t, what the hell is this stuff? You could remove dried paint from your driveway. It took me two beers to put the flames out. I hope that's the worst one, these Texans are crazy. Chilli # 2 (Arthur's Afterburner Chilli) Judge #1 - Smoky, with a hint of pork. Slight jalapeno tang. Judge #2 - Exciting BBQ flavour, needs more peppers to be taken seriously. Judge #3 - (Frank) Keep this out of the reach of children. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to taste besides pain. I had to wave off two people who wanted to give me the Heimlich manoeuvre. They had to rush in more beer when they saw the look on my face. Chilli # 3 (Fred's Famous Burn Down the Barn Chilli) Judge #1 - Excellent firehouse chilli. Great kick. Needs more beans. Judge #2 - A bean less chilli, a bit salty, good use of peppers. Judge #3 - (Frank) Call the EPA. I've located a uranium spill. My nose feels like I have been snorting Drano. Everybody knows the routine by now. Get me some more beer before I ignite. Barmaid pounded me on the back, now my backbone is in the front part of my chest. I'm getting 5h1t-faced from all the beer. Chilli # 4 (Bubba's Black Magic) Judge # 1 - Black bean chilli with almost no spice. Disappointing. Judge # 2 - Hint of lime in the black beans. Good side dish for fish or other mild foods, not much of a chilli. Judge # 3 - I felt something scrape across my tongue, but was unable to taste it. Is it possible to burn out taste buds? Sally, the barmaid, was standing behind me with fresh refills. That 300-lb lady is starting to look HOT...just like this nuclear waste I'm eating! Is chilli an aphrodisiac? Chilli # 5 (Linda's Legal Lip Remover) Judge # 1 - Meaty, strong chilli. Cayenne peppers freshly ground, adding considerable kick. Very impressive. Judge # 2 - Chilli using shredded beef, could use more tomato. Must admit the cayenne peppers make a strong statement. Judge # 3 - My ears are ringing, sweat is pouring off my forehead and I can no longer focus my eyes. I fart3d and four people behind me needed paramedics. The contestant seemed offended when I told her that her chilli had given me brain damage. Sally saved my tongue from bleeding by pouring beer directly on it from the pitcher. I wonder if I'm burning my lips off. It really p155e5 me off that the other judges asked me to stop screaming. Stuff those rednecks! Chilli # 6 (Vera's Very Vegetarian Variety) Judge # 1 - Thin, yet bold vegetarian variety chilli. Good balance of spices and peppers. Judge # 2 - The best yet. Aggressive use of peppers, onions and garlic. Superb. Judge # 3 - I 5hat myself when I farted and I'm worried it will eat through the chair. No one seems inclined to stand behind me except that Sally. She must be kinkier than I thought. Can't feel my lips any more. I need to wipe my butt with a snow cone. Chilli # 7 (Susan's Screaming Sensation Chilli) Judge # 1 - A mediocre chilli with too much reliance on canned peppers. Judge # 2 - Ho Hum, tastes as if the chef literally threw in a can of chilli peppers at the last moment. I should note that I am worried about Judge # 3. He appears to be in a bit of distress as he is cursing uncontrollably. Judge #3 - (Frank). You could place a grenade in my mouth, pull the pin, and I wouldn't feel a thing. I've lost the sight in one eye and the world sounds like it is made of rushing water. My shirt is covered with chilli, which slid out of my mouth. My pants are full of lava-like stuff which matches my shirt. At least during the autopsy, they'll know what killed me. I've decided to stop breathing, it's too painful. Sod it; I'm not getting any oxygen anyway. If I need air, I'll just suck it in through the four inch hole in my stomach. Chilli # 8 (Tommy's Toe-nail Curling Chilli) Judge # 1 - The perfect ending, this is a nice blended chilli. Not too bold but spicy enough to declare its existence. Judge # 2 -This final entry is a good, balanced chilli. Neither mild nor hot. Sorry to see that most of it was lost when Judge # 3 passed out, fell over and pulled the chilli pot down on top of himself. Not sure if he's going to make it. Poor Dude, wonder how he'd have reacted to a really hot chilli?
