  4. Nigel

    Smoking ban.

Its not the pubs but the resaurant bans that will make me a happy bunny! Nothing worse than some scrotum blowing smoke in my face when im tryin to eat!!!
  5. Id like to know one thing too ...when are we gonna be linked with somebody, more than a wild punt from a media hack, so we can start another thread!
  6. I think the Parker deal is pretty done and dusted!
  7. Has to be parker out of the 3! Reo Coker has always struck me as a bit lightweight for the middle of the park, for a top premiership club anyhow, and the other is a time bomb! (Note: i would still take the other 2 at the drop of a hat)
  8. I would not class reo coker in the same class as the other two.....a very good prospect perhaps but top class is a bit far!
  9. This means nothing! The press know about as much of MONs targets as we do!
  10. an excellent choice if we are looking at potential but we should be looking for experience now. Agreed and we still are in need of real leadership qualities too!
  11. Ravenelli, juniniho, Klinsmann, the game is littered with top quality players attracted to sides outside of the top echelons. All it takes is a little bit of scouting and a lot of money and hey presto!
  12. Has Defoe proved he's world class though?, or Bellamy?, what world class striker do you think we could attract Ian?. The likes of Huntelaar could be attracted to us and even alves. You have to realise how much a pull our league has , and the top 4 can only have so many strikers!
  13. Nail on the head Ian. I want to see someone leading the line with genuine world classs potential, not simply tried and trusted prem players! Let the likes of Portsmouth buy the also rans id like to see a bit of quality leading the line!
  14. Who ever we bring in had better be of the quality to demand a starting berth!
  15. What, no neck and a large slice of wee man syndrome?
  16. He looked pretty useful for Ghana at the last world cup! So did de la cruz!
  17. Mods Is it not about time we split this thread to individual links again?
  18. Anyone think a bid for Cisse would be worthwile? Cheaper than Bellamy, faster than Bellamy and dare I say better than Bellamy imo. Never really liked him, he seems to lack composure in front of goal!
  19. jones 1238 put this on another thread... Antunes eyes dream Aston Villa switch Pacos de Ferreira left-back also talks of Portugal ambition Pacos de Ferreira defender Vitorino Antunes has admitted that he would be interested in a move to the English Premiership as speculation of an imminent bid from Aston Villa begins to mount. The left-back is almost certain to leave the Estadio da Mata Real this summer after an outstanding season. As previously reported on PortuGOAL, clubs from across Europe have been scouting the left-back in recent months, with Villa impressed with Antunes’ form and now seemingly ready to make a move. According to the Daily Mirror, the Portugal under-21 international is now firmly on Martin O’Neill’s summer shopping list, with the Midlands outfit believed to be preparing a offer of over 1 million euros for the former Freamunde player. Antunes, who turned 20 in April, is reported in the paper as saying: “It would be a great chance to play in England for a big club.†If the move does go through, the youngster would join an increasingly large contingent of Portuguese players in the Premiership, with current internationals Cristiano Ronaldo, Ricardo Carvalho and Manuel Fernandes among those already plying their trade in England. Meanwhile, Antunes is already looking forward to this summer’s UEFA European Under-21 Championship in the Netherlands, which begins next month, and insists that the effects of a tiring season at club level will not have a bearing on the tournament. “Nobody will talk about fatigue after a long season,†he told uefa.com. “The extra motivation of being in such an important event is enough for any player to go beyond their limits. I believe that all games will be very tight and balanced. Portugal have a strong team too and we have to be very focused, giving everything we can.†The promising defender also harbours ambitions of forcing his way into the senior squad before long: “I know that it is very difficult because Portugal have great players in all positions but that’s a major objective in my career, a dream that I want to turn to reality.†here If this guy is a left back surely this position is well stocked with Freddie and Barry. Right back please!
  20. He might also turn out to be the next Luque. Say what you want about bellamy and/or smith, at least you know what you are getting, and that includes 100% effort on the pitch, particularly in Bellamy's case. To be honest id go for the gamble! You do not get to be Europes golden boot winner (As I believe Alves is!) without being a good goal scorer....what ever the league you are plying your trade. Remember a few years back when the same questions were asked of Henrik Larsen!
  21. Allback did a good job for us, but he is barely gonna move us into the position we want to be!
