I've just been given Tom Jones' new single to review for the student paper. Needless to say, it won't be making anyone's top 100 now, or at any point in the future.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
That's not unusual you know
Will it be loved by ANYONE?
-
'To the End' would be a better choice, or 'Tender'.
The Great Escape is a cracking album though. Rediscovered it t'other day.
Yeah 'Tender' is an awesome tune. Not sure on 'To the End', will give it another listen.

GET A JOB!!
lol I already work and get paid a decent amount. I actually made this list after I got made redundant over a year ago, I just tweaked it and thought I would post it on here.
-
Music is down to personal preference, not one person in the whole world will have the same top100 as me, the point is that I believe this is the BEST way of showing someone what music you truly like.
Bowie, Hendrix and The Beatles are all good places to start. If you like the Beach Boys I emplore you to listen to Dennis Wilson.
Personally, I would've added Faith No More, Love, The Band, Dylan, John Martyn, Anticon, They Might Be Giants...and many others to that list.
Variety is what you want!
it's the spice of life, especially where music is concerned. I will go as far to say I don't like a tune at all, but the melody of the vocals is pretty cool. So I will dislike a tune overall but like small aspects of it a lot.
-
If someone asks me what music I like, I generally will reel of this list, or just hand them my ipod shuffle with them all on.
A person to avoid at parties then?
I suppose I should have put a smiley at the end of it. More of a tongue in cheek comment.

hmmmm
90 The Universal - Blur
have just remembered
'Blur - Charmless Man'
might replace it if I listen to it anymore.
-
the numbers is purely to show there is 100, and to make sure I only put 100. Just to make sure someone doesn't have a go saying I put 99 or 101.

hey people
I have been making music since I was 9 and have a varied music taste. I generally don't as "what music are you into" to someone I meet because it's not really the right question. I think "what are your favourite artists" or "what are your favourite tunes"?
Genres are a very tepid way of saying what music you like. So I have spent a long time working out my Top100 tracks/songs/composition. It changes over time, I will re-discover a tune I thought was "alright" then come to realise it's actually AWESOME.
The list below is alphabetical, but you will come across ones that aren't, which are the ones I have added.
If anyone has done this or think they could do this, feel free to post below because you can edit your posts down the line.
I think a list like this is the best way to show people what music you REALLY do like.

Oh no no no he's at the Rocket Club
Rocket Club place where you can stare at girls in thongs
And I think he's gonna be a long long time......
And I think he's gonna be a long long time......
And I think he's gonna be a long long time......

Newcastle - They are NOT a big club. Liverpool are a decent side and they have some amazing players. Newcastle don't really have anyone.
-
Put your hands up
Put your hands up
Put your hand up for Carew....he loves them titties!
-
(for when we are winning in a cup)
If you come down to the Park today
You're in for a big surprise
If you come down to the Park today
You won't believe your eyes
'Cos we're the team
That's wrapping it up
And your the club
that's leaving the cup
And so we're marching on to get the trophy!
-
I like that, will add it to the compilation.
-
have no idea what tunes your chants are to CILVILLA. put the tunes next to the words.
-
I have to say, chanting "Who are ya" to 250 Litex fans was **** poor tbh. I thought that chant was a bit of irony towards bigger teams when you are beating them. Not a poor Bulgarian side that were already 4-1 on agg down.
would have prefered, my Everywhere chant or, forever young, or even holte enders in the sky than "who are ya".
-
For the North Stand:
'Holte End give us a song'
'Can you hear the Holte End sing?...'
For the Holte:
'North Stand give us a song'
'Trinity give us a song'
Witton give us a song'
'Can you hear the North Stand sing?...'
All very simple but perfect to get the other stands involved and to maybe spark the Holte into life when the game is a bit dull
That is a great shout. Will add this into the list also.
Blackcountry are you going to Portsmouth at the weekend?
-
Any of these songs are worth a try because it is getting very embarrassing listening to the `songs/chants` that come out every home game.
Did the Holte End think on Thursday night against Litex{ any home game for that matter}
Think that we were Playing Birmingham City
Think that McGrath should have been named man of the match
Think that the next best four players on show that night were Spink, Birch and McInally
Think that Carew and Agbonlahor had been bought on during the second half.
Why did only `four` real players get get a mention on Thursday night, albeit a short, quiet, subdued little chant {not a song, perish the thought}...
12mins A short, mumbled {as if the words were to hard to remember}......Salifou
27mins Feed the Hare {only after he had scored}
43mins A quick Friedel, Friedel {as he dived on a deflected shot, 2mtrs wide}
78mins A quick, quiet repeat of Ashley Young, Ashley Young {after 3 quick free kicks}
We have some of the Countries most exciting, young talent in Gabby, Young, Davies, Coker, Milner, Barry to name just some, and O`Neill is moulding them into a team that is not only exciting us, but the whole Nation.
Surely we can come up with songs for each and every player even if he is your favourite or not. I like the rest of you guys probably hate Manure nd Liverpool but fair play they have songs galore for everyone, not just a quick...
" There`s only one ....." or just a quick repeat of a surname or "shooot".
Our players should run out and throughout the game be lifted, encouraged by `personel songs`that make them feel wanted, valued, drive them on to be prepared to do and give even more. As it is all they hear are the `original, witty, awe inspiring, player encouraging classics like...
"Youre support is f****ng s**t
"Shall we sing a song for you"
"Youre not singing anymore"
And we cannot at this point forget our age old yet timeless anthem
"You fat B****rd aaaagggghhhh"
It is starting to get worrying how we only sing about 5 songs. I am currently trying to get tickets right up at the top of the Holte so I can help encourage some new banter.
I did try the Sali-Salifou to Daddy cool against litex, mildly worked as yo umay have heard.
-
I have added that chant into the mix Black Country,
Someone on the other chants thread came up with an absolutely great idea
The Impossible Dream
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far
To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a heavenly cause
And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star
No need to change it, I think a YouTube version of some villa fans singing it will do. Or someone in a Villa shirt doing karaoke whilst cutting to footage of some goals would get it around.

That could be our "You'll Never Walk Alone"
-
I know it has been laughed at before, but how about the impossible dream??
imagine the holte singing this
Just forget the geezer singing it and the fact that it was the honda ad, just imagine the holte singing this!!!
That.......is........a.......****........great.........shout!

I'll add it in Mate

Finally after hours of scouring this thread (95 pages) I have compiled a list of the best chants. Based on originality, likeness to original tune, how easy it is to learn and also based on the number of people in the thread liking it.
Bear in mind chant is essentially music and is subjective but I have imagines the crowd singing these and they all seem to have the ability to be sung in unison and well if learned.
I know some chants we do sing I haven't put in. If you know of any please post below and will make sure I get them in there.
Hope you agree on the chants selected and that we can get them onto the terraces a.s.a.p
I really think we should now try to focus on the players that DO NOT have their own chants in this thread. Nearly 1/3 of this whole thread were chants for Ashley Young. As great as he is, we need to make sure we can belt out a tune to support all our players and not single anyone out. So I plead with everyone who looks at this thread to help me finish off this list so all our squad has at least one chant.
Thank you for your time

OK,
We are progressing well with getting chants for players, I think we need to try and get chants for our starting 11.
Once we have a confirmed list I am actually going to get them printed and hand them out.
Also for ones I can make some quick songs for (like my Forever Young song on YouTube), will also make a cd and get them out there at cost. I think I should be able to burn them and put them in a sleeve for around 25p.
