    I think thats his best position to be honest. But only in a team playing possession football and quite narrow. Out there he has the freedom to cut in and get in behind the midfield.

    Ive been really impressed with him. Dont think he has masses of ability but he is always willing and always looking to make something happen. He is very good at finding space in between defence and midfield.

    I think he would give us another good option. Would take him for the right price i.e. not much over £4m. I am looking forward to the players returning so that we can see some transfer activity. I like the way we have gone about our business. Players signed with little or no fuss (Vlaar not included) and no one has had a clue. TBF I think with Vlaar it would've been under the radar had that fan not taken a picture. Then again if you bring him to VP while tours are going on then you are asking for trouble.

    Can we repoen the thread? Just wanted to post that I have been impressed with him in pre season. Looks really up for it and some of his passing has been great to watch. Think him, Al Ahmadi, Bannan/New CM and Holman will be a great 4 in midfield. Narrow but with the emphasis on possession football and not playing in straight lines for once!

    Agreed. Its obvious we need some more quality in the side. CB, LB, RW/LW and ST please. Would anyone take Defoe?

    Agree unless Makoun steps up then I we've only got Al Ahmadi who I think has the neccessary experience to play there. Even then it is his first year in the prem. Bannan has looked good in pre season but not sure if he can transfer that into prem matches. I still think we need an experienced CM to go alongside Al Ahmadi. Think Gardner should go out on loan. Delph has a part to play but time is running out for him. Looks like Herd is out of favour for the CM sport.

    If we were to sign him then I would imagine one of Bannan, Ireland, N'Zogbia would go. I dont think we will sign him, looks pretty dead on that he will be joining everton.
