  1. Because of the cheesy two thumbs up celebration! They also scored first in that game and their fans were singing 'Champions League, you're havin a laugh' (we were in the reckoning for top 4 at the time), then Barry equalised and gave them the finger to lips silence gesture. I remember that game was first on the ITV Premiership highlights show.
  2. Would have had more chance of getting him at the end of last season or in the summer when his stock was lowest.
  3. I don't want f'n Puils after he did a MON on Crystal Palace.
  4. Get Moyes in now. I really like Lambert but losing to this dogshit QPR side is the final straw. Jeesus their manager has admitted he would have retired in the summer had QPR not gone up and would have had to go away to some stodgy lower league grounds rather than the corporate Old Trafford champagne reception etc, and doesn't seem to give a fart if he's there next season or not. That's the attitude we have just LOST against. There was arguably more apathy around their squad than ours going into this match and we still crumbled. I'm sick of Villa being the team that breaks bad runs of form for other teams and goal droughts for opposition strikers.
  5. That's better, Sanchez having a good game. Come on Villa!
  6. Damn, unlucky Villa after a good start. Keep at it and there is a still a win in this for us against a poor QPR side.
  7. Great stuff Villa! What is it with the BBC Sport website's general hatred of Villa. Always emphasising negative stats. After the Stoke game it was "Only Villa's second win in 8 away at Stoke" rather than "2 wins in their last 3 games at Stoke". Seriously, who would try to pass "2 wins in 8 at Stoke" as a really bad record.
  8. I think it's important to stick with Lambert. I don't think he has done particularly well YET but whilst we can't spend as much money as Man City, Chelsea (etc,), if you have a long term manager then at least that gives him power over the players. You want the players to expect the manager to be there when their own contract is up, rather than think "I'm going to be here long after Mr. Manager has gone so I'll get a clean slate when he is sacked.". It worked with Fergie at Man Utd. Players knew that he was the boss, and it didn't matter even if you were Beckham or Ronaldo.
  9. Gabby is a good player, how soon people forget.
  10. wow I stayed up for Doug repeating twitter/VT rumours
  11. I wonder what hold music Doug is listening to.
  12. What would maybe make the league more competitive is a draft system. But unlike in American sports you actually get more picks if you do better rather than getting rewarded for not winning a game all season. Tbh I don't really get how transfers work in american sports, or how the franchise system works in terms of teams nicking players of each other but I'm sure there is a better way than the sugar daddy 'arms race' as Stan called it. As the system stands though, clubs are unscrupulous and not just Man City look at Real and Barca starving the rest of La Liga of TV money. Man Utd have whored themselves out to China, advertising you name it.
  13. Anyone listening to Collymore on TS? It's been an interesting listen. Edit - Oops just read back
  14. wow we shocked ourselves into giving it away again by keeping the ball for 4 passes
  15. Seriously wtf was that cross from us just then. TERRIBLE + EMBARASSING
  16. Not true. Don't you remember the massive protest at Villa Park in the summer? You know the day after he was appointed before a ball had been kicked?
  17. Wow neither Tyler or Neville point out a blatant dive, awful commentary from awful commentators.
